DRMTLGY Luminous Eye Corrector SPF 41 Review: A Budget-Friendly Alternative
For those who are fans of the Colorescience Total Eye 3-in-1 Renewal but find it a bit pricey, the DRMTLGY Luminous Eye Corrector SPF 41 might just be the perfect dupe you’ve been searching for. This tinted sunscreen is not only more affordable but also offers similar benefits to its higher-end counterpart.
Hybrid Formulation for Sun Protection and Color Correction
Just like the Colorescience Total Eye, the DRMTLGY Luminous Eye Corrector SPF 41 is a hybrid product that combines sun protection with color correction. The tinted formula helps to even out skin tone around the eyes while providing SPF 41 protection against harmful UV rays. It also contains hydrating ingredients that help to smooth out fine lines, leaving the delicate eye area looking refreshed and rejuvenated.
Wide Range of Shades to Choose From
One of the advantages of the DRMTLGY Luminous Eye Corrector SPF 41 is that it comes in four different shades – Fair, Medium, Tan, and Deep. This range of shades makes it easier for users to find the perfect match for their skin tone, ensuring a seamless and natural finish.
Cooling Metal Tip Applicator
Another feature that sets the DRMTLGY Luminous Eye Corrector SPF 41 apart is its cooling metal tip applicator. This innovative design helps to soothe and depuff the under-eye area while applying the product, providing a refreshing and rejuvenating experience.
DRMTLGY Luminous Eye Corrector SPF 41 Review
I went with Fair the lightest shade: SPF 41, just like the color science one. This is an all mineral formula: zinc and titanium dioxide and honestly thats a good choice for something that is going to be used around the eyes because its a lot more likely to be tolerable, whereas certain chemical sunscreen ingredients can burn and sting around the eyes.
Tinted Sunscreen Benefits
One of the advantages of choosing a tinted sunscreen, whether it be on your face, your body, is that the tint comes from Iron oxides. Iron oxides, as it turns out, have been shown to be helpful for protecting the skin from wavelengths of light from the sun that are not ultraviolet radiation, but rather blue light, and we now know lead to more early onset and stubborn and persistent hyperpigmentation. So if your skin heals with a dark mark – Or you have any kind of dark spots, you are hoping to improve the appearance of to get to fade, choose a tinted sunscreen.
Beneficial Ingredients
There are a few other beneficial ingredients in this Formula. First of all, snow mushroom Ive used a lot of products over the years with snow mushroom, its a really cool mushroom. As a side note compounds from this mushroom end up being really hydrating, so it lends itself to excellent moisturizing and skin conditioning properties, which is great around the delicate eyelid skin, not only from a protective mechanism and helping to maintain the moisture barrier to reduce irritation, but Also in hydrating up the outermost layer to smooth out those little fine lines that were not so fed of this also has some peptides, okay, so peptides they, in my opinion, mostly work by while improving moisture content in Skins, outermost layers, so theyre hydrating ingredients.
Peptides in DRMTLGY Luminous Eye Corrector SPF 41
What peptides does this have? Palid tripeptide 5, also known as sin. Call, is one of the peptides in this eye corrector. The makers of this peptide have conducted some studies, although not as rigorous and peer-reviewed, showing an improvement in firmness and elasticity in actual human volunteers. However, it is important to note that these studies were not placebo-controlled trials, so the effects could be attributed to the moisturizing properties rather than the specific peptide.
Palmoil Tripeptide 1 and Palmoil Tripeptide 7
The dynamic duo in DRMTLGY Luminous Eye Corrector SPF 41 consists of palmoil tripeptide 1 and palmoil tripeptide 7, which together form matrial 2000. These peptides are believed to contribute to collagen health and may help slow down collagen destruction and have anti-inflammatory effects. While studies on these peptides were conducted on actual human volunteers, more research is needed to fully understand their efficacy in reducing wrinkles, providing a lifting effect, and improving texture and dark spots.
Ceramides in Skincare
Ceramides are lipids naturally found in the skin’s outermost layer, crucial for barrier function. As we age, our production of ceramides decreases, making us more susceptible to dry skin. Topically applying ceramides can help boost ceramide production in the skin, improving dryness and barrier function. This makes ceramides a beneficial ingredient in skincare products like DRMTLGY Luminous Eye Corrector SPF 41.
Ingredients and Formulation
So those are the ingredients what they do, what they offer, but what about the overall formulation, this product remember its not meant to be a concealer, but the way its formulated. It is meant to offer color correction. All of the shades are going to have these sort of peachy undertones to them that are intended to cancel out bluish Hues, making it good at color correcting the under eye area, improving the appearance, thats key, the appearance of dark under eye circles and prominent veins.
Moisturizing Formula
You see the skin of our eyelids top and bottom quite thin, quite delicate and, of course, with age. It gets even thinner you, you want to choose a product that has kind of a peachy undertone to color, correct and balance those bluish undertones. The formula is moisturizing, it stays in place well throughout the day, though it is not water resistant um doesnt seem to seep around my eyes: crease thats, another notable plus about this formula.
Texture and Wear
I have noticed it doesnt settle into the creases this formula, in contrast to the color science, one it doesnt for lack of a better descriptor. It doesnt have as much slip to it. It is not as emolient, it is a lot more matte matte, but also hydrating. Such that its not so clawing the matte that it accentuates fine lines now this, like the color science one, it has a very similar packaging in that its got. This cool metal applicator, which they suggest is going to offer via its cooling properties, a helpful outcome in reducing under eye puffiness.
DRMTLGY Luminous Eye Corrector SPF 41 Review
It might, but truthfully I have found with this product specifically using it. I dont end up using the metal tip applicator, something about the shape. Its a little too small, I dont know I find that its not as easy to work the product into the skin with the applicator.
I find that its much easier to get the product on the skin in an even fashion, with good coverage, just using padding motions of my fingers. So I dont end up really using the applicator pool.
Reducing Under Eye Puffiness
Temperatures certainly can help with reducing under eye puffiness now under eye. Puffiness is a common cosmetic concern. It can be related to um fluid changes, especially given how thin the under the under eye skin is when we have a little bit of collection of fluid.
It is a lot more obvious and thats why you see puffy under eyes. It can be related to having a high salt meal the day before excessive alcohol consumption, seasonal allergies.
It is pollen season right now and the amount of that I have to edit out of some of my videos, its seasonal allergy time, if youre dealing with that, you may notice that its showing up in more prominent puffiness under the eyes more prominent dark circles.
So the cool temperature can help constrict the blood vessels there and reduce puffiness.
Ingredients in DRMTLGY Luminous Eye Corrector SPF 41
As a matter of fact, you know a lot of under eye creams. Products aimed at reducing puffiness will often contain caffeine, which is a Vaso constrictor that may help clamp down the blood vessels and help uh direct that fluid out from the under eye skin.
DRMTLGY Luminous Eye Corrector SPF 41 Review
But some studies, actually looking at caffeine, containing under eye gels versus placebo gels with no caffeine, show that they pretty much in most people work the same meaning its may not even be necessary to have caffeine in there in the first place for the under eye.
Puffiness reduction effect simply the cool temperature may get you there.
Application of the Product
If you do deal with under eye puffiness, you might just take the cool metal applicator and gently press it there before even bothering to apply the product. I personally don’t find the applicator to be particularly helpful in applying the product.
Dispensing and Coverage
They say to just do half a pump, but a full pump dispenses enough product to cover both the lower and upper eyelids. You want to make sure you’re putting sunscreen on the upper eyelids all the way up to your browbone.
Sunscreen Application
Sunscreen should always be the last skincare step in your morning routine. You might choose to put your facial sunscreen on all over sparing around the eyes and then come in with this product, or you may want to double up for better protection.
The more sunscreen you put on your skin, the better in the long run. It is important to ensure sufficient density to give you good protection, so applying multiple layers can be beneficial.
Remember to be consistent and make sure you are using sunscreen around your eyes, as they are a crucial area for protection against UV rays.
Sunscreen around the Eyes
A lot of people, the sunscreen that theyre using on their face, ends up causing burning stinging around the eyes and for that reason, a lot of people slack on putting sunscreen around the eye. So, for those of you out there, you might, you might enjoy this type of product, but my more cost-effective recommendation, if you dont want to plunk down on this dedicated SPF for the eyes, is to just get a mineral sunscreen, specifically ones marketed for babies. Simply because they tend to be a lot more sensitive skin friendly. If you will get an all mineral sunscreen meant for babies just use a little bit of that as your eye sunscreen and then, whatever else youre using on your face. You know that is bothersome to your eyes. You know you just use the rest of your face.
Makeup Application
Makeup is going to be next. If you wear makeup, makeup goes over sunscreen once it has dried down fully. So that being said, I find that this product is actually a pretty good eyeshadow primer. The makeup goes on over. It well helps the eyeshadow stay on better last longer throughout the day, its not marketed as an eyeshadow primer, but I found that it works quite well in that way. As a matter of fact, I personally find that sunscreen is like my makeup primer, because it moisturizes the skin it hydrates it. It allows for a more even base for the makeup to go on, and so I dont even use makeup primer.

DRMTLGY Luminous Eye Corrector SPF 41 Review
Now, while this is a quote, unquote more affordable dupe, it certainly is less expensive compared to the Colorescience one. It is not cheap, it’s $44. So do I think it is worth it?
I think it is worth it if you are someone who is seeking a product to color, correct, and protect, and if you find that the sunscreen you use on your face irritates the skin around your eyes. If you have very sensitive eyes, you might want to try this product.
Suitable for Dark Circles and Hyperpigmentation
This product is great if you have prominent dark under-eye circles that you’re looking to improve the appearance of, but you also want sun protection. It’s also effective for true hyperpigmentation, such as sunspots, age spots, and discoloration around the eyes. Although it’s not a concealer, it can help color correct and camouflage these imperfections while providing sun and visible light protection.
Affordable Alternative to Colorescience
If you love the Colorescience product but want to cut back on your spending, give DRMTLGY Luminous Eye Corrector a try. It offers similar benefits and is a more affordable option for those looking for tinted SPF for the eyes.
Moisturizing and Anti-Aging Properties
This eye corrector contains moisturizing and hydrating ingredients, as well as anti-aging ingredients like peptides such as matrixyl, which are often found in eye creams. While these ingredients may primarily hydrate the skin, they also have a wrinkle-smoothing effect.
