Rediscovering Affordable Makeup
As I strolled through the mall, memories of my college days flooded my mind. The days when doing makeup was effortless, a time when I was just starting to explore the world of beauty products. I found myself drawn to the department store, eager to check out the products that I used to love.
Back to Basics
As I reached the makeup aisle, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia. The familiar sight of brushes, lashes, and other beauty products brought back memories of my high school days. I picked up a pack of lashes for old times’ sake, feeling a rush of excitement as I remembered how much I used to love trying out new products.
Reviving Old Memories
I decided to start with the base and grabbed a fashion 21 stick foundation. The packaging had been updated, but the creamy texture brought back memories of my younger days. Back then, I was lucky enough to have high-end brands like Make Up Forever and Chanel handed down to me, but there was something special about using affordable products that sparked my creativity.
Experimenting with Makeup
I used a sponge to blend out the foundation, reminiscing about the time when pancake foundation and powder were my go-to products. I also tried a different kind of sponge from FNS, eager to experiment with new tools and techniques. As I applied the foundation with a powder brush, I felt a sense of excitement and anticipation, wondering how the final look would turn out.
A Blast from the Past
I was blown Away by the coverage well before liquid foundation, but it was too Pro coverage its giving nothing okay and speaking of nothing. No in terms of coverage Id say its more um kind of sheer and medium its like its going to give you this nice Pig, but in terms of covering some blemishes certain dark spot.
Streaky Foundation Woes
Oh my gosh look, look nostalgic for me products, but my gosh this Foundation. It it doesnt set so streaky, and I dont know what to do. I swear to God as it the rest of the makeup, so we had to redo that that foundation with something like this loose powder best believe this is going to be intense, contouring wasnt a thing.
Nostalgic Tears
Obviously you routine was very simple: either just a powder foundation, just a light wash of powder foundation, unlike now gra just perfecting my full on breakdown, but I am just quite emotional, just remembering emotional, remembering memories from this makeup products I dont know these are tears of Joy, I swear tears horon its just that me thinking about those times Marin.
Mix of High End and Affordable
I had the best of both worlds. I had makeup forever, B, around um and and stuff and then Mar n the fashion 21 every Bela and just thinking about it. Nothing like in my eyes and in my feelings, cuz. I just did makeup so happily I enjoyed doing it. I didnt care about the price I kind of cared about the quality I mean early on.
Exploring Affordable Makeup Brands
That was, that was training. For me. There are times but yeah it’s just a good reminder. Now. I should take it for granted cuz before it was just a dream of mine to have this much collection anyway. Lets go back.
Iconic Brow Products
Nothing is more iconic than brow products for me, specifically eyeliners. We have the brown shade and the black shade in black brown palette. I didn’t get the blackest black, they had brown shades of eyeliners which I love. So what I did before was simple, as in simple. Oh, it still works – brow laminator and pencil in one. Alright, that’s not bad at all, I mean, of course it could be better, but the color, I love that.
Discovering Dupes
I clearly remember having this Bobby Brown eyeshadow palette that was really good. I had it when I was in high school until college, expired for sure, but I kept it. When I saw this, I thought, like, ‘Oh my gosh, a dupe for Bobby Brown Eyeshadow.’ I mean in terms of packaging, the college with the Mac Boy Girl. So there’s another way that I set my brows, and this is with a brown eyeshadow. I really found it waxy anywhere.
Learning and Experimenting
I have this brown eyeshadow that I always keep closest to the lash line as possible, because at the same time, this was my sort of eyeliner. In fairness, performing eyeshadow, that’s the Riso Kwi eyeshadow. In 2008, May obsession na talaga ako, no brown liners, brown eyeshadow, brown everything. As early as high school, I explored luxury brands and very affordable brands, so I was able to learn the difference when it comes to performance, formula, longevity, and more. I was an expert at the time – and I was learning about makeup, that was my early days.
Maybelline: A Consistent Favorite
This is the makeup style that I usually wear. Eyeliner Brown, ey Shadow. I always had a brown thing. One brand that has been consistent with their products Id have to say, is Maybelline and their mascaras hyper curl. During that time FAL Seas. This was the bomb. The reason why is because of their wand, its just jumbo for my eyes and lashes work, but gra formula, the hyper curl. I love that so much even when I was starting as a makeup artist, you name mascara on my clients.
Falsies and Iconic Lash Glue
There would be times in college on stage and so up look so i wear falsies, definitely High School, what are falash with SP strands and then with the iconic n lash glue 60 pesos mangura per y lash glue work as in Lash, but it works is actually Really good um – this is still good, but its just the container itself is whats keeping me from from having it see. I love it so much as and the way curl with the mascara strands extension L.
Fashion 21 Cheek Tint: Nostalgic and Iconic
Moving on to cheeks, I have here pretty iconic blushes during the day Im going to start with fashion 21. This is their cheek tint, but in roller form, oh, my God, so iconic nostalgic. This is high school. To me this has alcohol water based in the thing it dries quickly. It stays there, but at the same time it is not for the lips youre very wrong, but I just wanted to get this another.
Rediscovering Ever Bilena Lip and Cheek Stain
One, of course, is Ever Bilena’s lip and cheek stain packaging. Early on, I remember, it was very simple and water-based. I grabbed the Pink shade and it was quite fragrant compared to before. I feel like I don’t think it’s water-based anymore, but you can try it out.
Nostalgic Moments with Nichido Body Shimmer
Oh yeah! Oh no! Okay, it just feels nice to hold them again. I remember having makeup stash with powder blushes when I was younger. In high school, we used powder blushes in shades of pink, my blue, and more. Unfortunately, those are gone now, but I found something super close. This is the Nichido body shimmer. It has shimmers, baby pink, into it. In fairness, it works just like high school days.
Reviving Memories with Nichido Powder Blush
I vividly remember having the Nichido powder blush in college, and I was so happy to have it. I applied the pink blush as a contour and it looked so good. This blush has a very white undertone, giving it a cool tone. I believe it has a touch of peach, making it warm as well.
Exploring with Highlighter from Nichido
This is the highlighter that we’re going to use. Technically, it’s a new shade from Nichido. It has a subtle shimmer that can be used to brighten up your features. The shade is perfect for creating a natural glow on your skin.
Affordable Makeup Finds: Nichido Lip Pencil
Elementary days come flooding back with the nostalgia of makeup. The Nichido Lip Pencil in the shade Rosette takes me back. A good dupe for a Mac lip liner, this shade glides effortlessly on my lips. The color payoff is impressive and the shade stays true throughout the day. A true gem in my makeup collection.
The Hair Essential: Leave-On Conditioner
In the beauty routine, the leave-on conditioner is a must-have. Whether it’s Joy or Sunk, having it in my bag is non-negotiable. This was the go-to hair oil back in the day for achieving that shiny, glossy hair look. Vitus was the secret ingredient for my straight hair to look effortlessly stunning.
Complete the Look: Gray Contact Lenses
To truly embody a look, gray contact lenses were a game-changer. Enhancing the overall appearance, these lenses added a touch of mystery and allure. This simple addition completed the transformation and made the look truly memorable.
Revisiting the Past: A Therapeutic Experience
Reflecting on this makeup journey, it’s clear that revisiting old favorites can be a therapeutic experience. While styles may have evolved over time, the nostalgia and joy of rediscovering these affordable makeup gems remain unchanged. Sometimes, a trip down memory lane is all we need to feel rejuvenated and inspired.
Nostalgia Hits
I did not expect to be emotional when I tried these affordable makeup brands, but I think that’s nostalgia for you. It’s a mix of sadness, longingness, and happiness. As I applied the Nichido and Ever Bilena products, memories flooded back from my early days of experimenting with makeup.
Overloaded and Confused
Lately, I haven’t been consistently uploading YouTube videos. I have been overloaded with work, busy to the point of feeling lost and confused. It’s hard to find inspiration when you’re in that state of mind. I know I should be creating content, but I just don’t know where to start.
Lost in the Moment
There are really times when you’re just lost and you don’t know how to move forward. In those moments, I try to look back and ask myself, “Why am I doing this? What do I love doing? What am I passionate about?” It’s essential to reconnect with your purpose to keep moving forward.
Grateful for the Support
Here I am, in front of you, catching up on the latest products. I want to thank you all for joining me on this journey. Your support means everything to me, and it motivates me to keep pushing forward, even when things get tough.
