Initial Impressions
The hype surrounding the Fenty Beauty SOFT’LIT Foundation is undeniable, with many influencers receiving PR packages and singing its praises. However, as someone who has been in the makeup industry for over a decade, I approach new products with a critical eye. The memories of the previous Pro Filt’r foundation debacle still linger, leaving me cautiously optimistic about this new release.
Putting it to the Test
As I applied the foundation, I couldn’t help but notice its thin consistency and how effortlessly it blended into my skin. The promised luminosity was definitely there, giving my complexion a healthy glow. However, I couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off, that the product wasn’t living up to its lofty claims.
Longevity and Wear
Throughout the day, the foundation held up well, maintaining its dewy finish without becoming overly greasy. But as the hours passed, I couldn’t ignore the fact that it seemed to be emphasizing my pores and fine lines. Despite its promises of a natural look, I felt like my skin appeared more textured and less flawless than usual.
The Hyped Foundation
I feel like they’re trying to win over the users of Tik Tok. In my personal opinion, so I feel, like all the reviews that I have seen of this Foundation already have been so biased. Everyone, just keeping it real, eats Rihanna’s ass and I just feel like look. I love Rihanna. Do not get me wrong. If you guys know me, if you guys watch my lives, you know I love Rihanna, but the thing is at the end of the day, it doesn’t mean that I’m going to like every single product that she comes out with, especially as big as a brand is.
High Expectations
Her, she has so many different products and there’s been several flops from her brand. In my personal opinion, I’m really hoping this is not a flop, but I do feel if I’m just keeping real with you guys. I feel like a lot of people on the internet really want to get on her good side, they want to be invited to the parties they want to be sent PR. Do you know what I mean? And y’all know that’s just not me. I’m always going to keep it real.
A Wait and See Approach
Hey, I may get some hate for that because I don’t know what it is about people if that’s their favorite celebrity you don’t like a product of theirs. They automatically think that you’re bashing the person. It’s like y’all at the end of the day. Can we please be adult here and realize not every single product is going to work on every single person say for, for example, that Pro filter Foundation.
The Fenty Beauty SOFT’LIT Foundation Review
After hearing so many great things about the Fenty Beauty SOFT’LIT Foundation, I decided to give it a try. However, my experience with this foundation was not what I expected.
Not Suitable for Normal Skin
I think that Foundation was meant for somebody with really really oily skin and I dont have severely oily skin. So it was just way too dry and literally accentuated every single fine line and crevice and wrinkle that I have.
Cakey and Dry Throughout the Day
I feel, like it looked very, very cakey throughout the day and got so dry. This one has several different claims from that, so Im really excited to try this so also, if you guys, like reviews here on this channel, make sure you guys give this video a big thumbs up.
Lack of Shade Transparency
Before jumping into this, letting you guys know, because damn this pisses me off so much on Tik Tok. There is so many people out there who do foundation, reviews and dont say their shade Im like people will comment in there, what your shade whats your shade and they dont respond to them. Im like whats the whole point of like gatekeeping your shade. I dont really get it Im in the shade 230. Well, I think Im in the shade 230 thats, the one Im going to be trying out today.
The Packaging
The Fenty Beauty SOFT'LIT Foundation comes in a sleek and sophisticated packaging that exudes luxury. The frosted finish and soft glass matte look give it a high-end feel that is pleasing to the eye. While packaging may not be the most important factor when it comes to makeup, it’s always nice to have something that looks and feels good in your hands.
The Shade Range
With 50 different shades to choose from, the Fenty Beauty foundation promises to cater to a wide range of skin tones. The reviewer mentions being in shade 230, which indicates the inclusivity of the brand when it comes to offering options for various complexions. However, it seems that some consumers are still struggling to find their perfect match, which raises questions about the accuracy of the shade range.
The Price
Priced at $40 for 1.08 fluid ounces, the Fenty Beauty foundation is definitely on the higher end of the spectrum when it comes to cost. While some may argue that quality comes at a price, others may find it hard to justify spending that much on a product that may not live up to its claims.
The Claims
The reviewer expresses skepticism towards the claims made by the Fenty Beauty SOFT'LIT Foundation. With promises of a flawless finish and long-lasting wear, it’s no wonder that consumers are eager to put it to the test. However, as with any beauty product, the proof is in the pudding, and only time will tell whether this foundation lives up to its bold claims.
The Claims
If, I’m being so honest with you guys, it says that it’s hydrating, medium coverage, long-wearing. It says that it’s waterproof, y’all, and this is what it says in the details. What else do you need to know? It says this is a long-wearing, medium coverage Foundation that gives a golden hour glow in a bottle. It hydrates, brightens, and improves the look of skin tone immediately and over time, while resisting sweat, humidity, and transfer. I feel like that’s a lot of claims for a luminous Foundation.
The Doubt
I feel like, if you do get a matte foundation, you can get it to be transfer-proof or sweat-proof, humidity-proof, things like that, but not with a luminous Foundation. Also, can I just point out right now, lowkey, maybe I sound like a hater, but I don’t really care. Why does everyone, in their mom, specifically on TikTok, have to say this is golden hour in a bottle? I wonder if Fenty Beauty, like when they sent out the PR package, said “you have to say this” because if you guys watch any reviews on TikTok of this, which, by the way, I will be filming a separate TikTok review of this too, but every single one literally says “this is golden hour in a bottle.” I’m like, “oh, my God, okay, cool.”
The Application
Anyways, my skin is already prepped. Let me go ahead and zoom you guys in, and let’s get into the application.
Key Ingredients
Before diving into the application of the Fenty Beauty SOFT’LIT Foundation, let’s take a look at some key ingredients that make up this product. The foundation contains Cyprus py Rac leaf cell extract, known for providing all-day hydration and Cockadoo Plum, which is rich in antioxidants that brighten the skin and improve skin tone over time.
These unique ingredients may be unfamiliar to many, but they play a significant role in the formulation of this foundation.
Application
Now, it’s time to apply the foundation. Shake the bottle well to ensure the product is properly mixed, then take a small dot of the foundation. It is recommended to start with a light application and build up to achieve full coverage, although the reviewer prefers a medium coverage look.
The reviewer uses a Juno and Co sponge to apply the foundation, despite its stained appearance. The face is prepped with a hydrating Morphe spray before the foundation application begins.
Impressions
Upon application, the Fenty Beauty SOFT’LIT Foundation feels lightweight and blends easily into the skin. The medium coverage provides a natural finish, perfect for everyday wear.
The foundation leaves the skin feeling hydrated and offers a subtle glow, thanks to the unique ingredients in its formula. Over time, the skin may visibly improve in tone and texture with continued use of this foundation.
Initial Impressions
The color of this I can already tell is good. So 230 is good for me if you guys are similar to my shade. Actually that was way too little like honestly that wasnt even half a pump like I would say that was a quarter of a pump. So let me take the same size amount. So now were probably at about a half a pump right now. Okay, I can already tell this is definitely luminous, which I, like okay lets, see Im just so curious to see like a luminous Foundation that lasts all day, Im like M yeah right lets, see about that. I am going to be doing a wear test.
First Application
Of course yall I am shook right now. Do you guys see how beautiful this looks once again? In case you guys dont, remember all of my videos are filmed in 4k. The highest resolution so make sure you guys zoom in change your settings on YouTube to make sure that its showing 4K, so you guys can see up close all of the dets. You guys can literally count my pores. This looks so beautiful. It looks so hydrated. It looks so luminous and yall. The coverage is like perfect. For me, this is the exact amount of coverage that I like, where its not too much, but it is enough. Do you know what I mean? This is really nice.
The Initial Impression
Like look at the before and look at the after, it just looks so natural, luminous, radiant, like healthy, okay. I was bitching about the price. I’m like damn, 40. Can we like get back into the 30 range for foundation, like 32? You know what I mean, but for 40, I’m like damn, this is looking really good so far. Fingers crossed that it wears well, because this is beautiful.
The Coverage Test
Here we have half a pump just to show you guys on this side. Look at this redness, look how well that covered it and I didn’t even have to build it up. This is okay, I’m low kind of shook. Why do I always have to like the expensive foundations? I mean don’t get me wrong if you guys have checked out my recent review, I did one of the Makeup Revolution Skin Silk Tint, and I really like that one and that’s only 14. But this, though, is just like really radiant.
The Wear Test
Some foundations recently have been getting dry on me throughout the day. So I’m like, will this get dry on me? Will this stay looking nice? So far, this is really beautiful. I have zero complaints. I love the way this looks. I am going to be setting my face with The Hourglass Veil Translucent Powder.
The Initial Impressions
Upon first application, the Fenty Beauty SOFT’LIT Foundation seemed promising. The texture was smooth, and it appeared to blend seamlessly into the skin. The shade match was perfect, and the coverage was buildable, providing a flawless finish without feeling heavy or cakey.
The Wear Test
After setting the foundation with the Ultra HD setting powder from makeup forever and The Hourglass Veil powder, I was ready to put it to the test. Throughout the day, the foundation held up well in my T-zone, which tends to get oily. The luminosity from the powder gave my skin a subtle glow, making it look radiant without appearing too matte.
The Initial Impression
I have zero complaints about this. I really do. I feel, like this looks beautiful. The coverage was great and I’m really liking it so far.
The Settling Issue
So I will let you guys know at the end of the video how this wears. All right, y’all, it’s currently 2:00 in the morning. I do have to say I like this foundation. It looks good, but it did definitely settle in these lines right here. Every time I smile or go like this, these lines get accentuated and I do have to say this foundation made it seem a little bit more prominent than other foundations.
Comparison with Other Foundations
I recently liked the Georgio Armani luminous skin or the Makeup Revolution skin tint more than this. This is a nice foundation, but I do like those others more. This is really nice, but you can see up close, even on my phone camera, all these lines right here.
The Oily Nose Situation
It did definitely get very oily on my nose. So this is a nice foundation, but it’s just not the best.
The Fenty Beauty SOFT’LIT Foundation Review
If I had to rate it on a scale from 1 to 10, I would probably put it at like a 7.5. It’s really crazy that I actually do like the Makeup Revolution Skin Silk Tint and the Georgia Armani Luminous Skin better than this. At first, I thought this was so nice, but this is definitely a no for me.
Initial Impressions
I have found foundations that don’t have the issues I encountered with the Fenty Beauty Soft’LIT Foundation. The initial application seemed promising, but as time went on, the product started to reveal its flaws.
Quality Concerns
Upon closer inspection, there were noticeable lines and imperfections that became more apparent as the foundation settled into the skin. This was disappointing considering the initial appeal of the product.
Comparison with Other Products
Despite its claims, the Fenty Beauty Soft’LIT Foundation fell short in comparison to other foundations I have used. It lacked the seamless finish and long-lasting wear that I have come to expect from my makeup products.
In the end, the Fenty Beauty SOFT’LIT Foundation left me feeling conflicted. While it did deliver on its luminous finish and long-wear claims to some extent, I couldn’t overlook the subtle flaws it seemed to accentuate. Perhaps my expectations were too high, or maybe the formula just wasn’t the perfect match for my skin. Whatever the reason, I can’t help but feel that this foundation isn’t quite what it seems, despite the allure of its marketing campaign.
The Fenty Beauty SOFT'LIT Foundation may not be exactly what it seems at first glance. While the packaging is undeniably attractive and the shade range is impressive, the real test lies in how well it performs on the skin. With mixed reviews and varying opinions, it’s up to individual consumers to decide whether this foundation is worth the investment. Only time and trial will reveal the true nature of this product.
The Fenty Beauty SOFT’LIT Foundation may surprise users with its hydrating and skin-brightening properties. While it may not be what it initially seems, this foundation offers a unique and effective option for those seeking a natural, radiant look.
Consider giving this foundation a try to experience its benefits firsthand.
Im, hoping that this wears well, because if it wears well, this is probably going to be my new favorite Foundation like this is absolutely beautiful.
As the hours passed, I found myself falling in love with the Fenty Beauty SOFT’LIT Foundation. Despite my initial hopes of disliking it due to budget constraints, I couldn’t deny how beautiful my skin looked. The long-wearing claim held up, and even after a night out, the foundation remained intact without any touch-ups.
Final Thoughts
Overall, the Fenty Beauty SOFT’LIT Foundation exceeded my expectations. The formula is lightweight yet provides fantastic coverage, and the luminosity it gives is just the right amount of glow. I highly recommend this foundation for anyone looking for a long-lasting, flawless finish that doesn’t compromise on radiance.
If you have tried this foundation, I would love to hear your thoughts and experiences with it. Personally, I found the Fenty Beauty Soft’LIT Foundation to be a decent product, but not the best option available in the market.
