Sephora Haul: Testing New Makeup
First Impressions
I am so excited because I purchased a bunch of these things, minus a couple of items that were sent to me from Ver Beauty. But today, it’s all about my Sephora haul. I have already tried out all these goodies last week and did a first impressions video, but unfortunately, the audio was awful and I faced several technical difficulties. But don’t worry, I have a new mic now, and we can do a second first impression, which I believe is even more helpful. So grab a snack, get cozy, and let’s get into it!
Eyes
For my eye makeup, I’m starting off with my favorite Rare Beauty eyeshadow primer. It provides a perfect base for the eyeshadows. Today, I’ll be recreating the same basic eye look that I did last week because I absolutely loved it.
Face
Moving on to the face, I’ll be using the new foundation I picked up from Sephora. It claims to be long-lasting and provide a natural finish. I remember liking it during my first impression, so I’m excited to give it another go. I’ll also be using a concealer, setting powder, and blush from my haul.
Lips
For lips, I have a couple of new lipsticks and lip glosses to try out. I’ll start with a pretty nude shade and then move on to a bold red. I love experimenting with different lip colors, and these new additions are perfect for that.
Trying out Rare Beauty Shadow Sticks
The new Shadow sticks from Rare Beauty have caught my attention, and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on them. I decided to try out the “All of the Above Weightless Eyeshadow Sticks” in the shades Integrity and Adventure.
Introducing the Shades
Integrity is a beautiful, light champagne shade that I plan on using on my brow bone and inner corners. On the other hand, Adventure is a stunning true bronze shade that immediately grabbed my attention. This shade reminds me of the iconic “Smog” shade from the original Urban Decay Naked Palette, which I deeply regret decluttering.
Application Experience
During my first impressions of these eyeshadow sticks last week, I was already impressed by how easily they applied. However, I found that they blend better with a brush rather than using my finger. The creamy texture allows for a seamless application and effortless blending. Unfortunately, since I have acrylic nails, using my finger becomes a bit more challenging, so I prefer using a brush instead. Nonetheless, they are creamy enough to be used with either method.
Creating the Look
To start, I apply the color all over my lid, making sure to cover the entire area. Next, I grab a brush and gently blend the color outwards to create a soft and blended effect. The formula of these eyeshadow sticks is truly impressive, and I find myself falling in love with both the shades and the overall formula. The bronze shade I used today is especially stunning, and it has quickly become a favorite of mine.
Regretful Decluttering
Unfortunately, there are many makeup products that I regret decluttering, and the original Urban Decay Naked Palette is certainly one of them. It was one of the first high-end palettes I ever purchased, and it holds a special place in my heart. It is truly a shame that it is no longer available, as it was such an iconic palette.
I am thoroughly enjoying testing out these Rare Beauty Shadow Sticks. The ease of application and the beautiful shades they offer make them a must-have in any makeup collection. Whether you prefer using your finger or a brush, these eyeshadow sticks will deliver stunning results. I couldn’t be happier with my Sephora haul, and I can’t wait to try out even more new makeup goodies!
Shadow Sticks: A Formula Worth Celebrating
These shadow sticks have truly exceeded my expectations. The formula is impeccable, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. At first, I attempted to blend them out using my finger, and to my surprise, they worked quite well. However, I soon discovered that using a brush provided an even better application. It’s worth noting that these sticks tend to dry rather quickly, so using a brush allows for a smoother and more controlled blending process. Personally, I prefer using a brush, but using your finger is also a viable option. In my opinion, these shadow sticks deserve a perfect 10 out of 10 rating. The formula is outstanding, and the shade Adventure is an absolute stunner. If you’re a fan of bronzy tones, I highly recommend giving it a try.
PHD Hybrid Lip Oils: An Oasis of Hydration
I wanted to take a moment to mention two lip oils that I’m currently wearing on my lips. The first one is from House Labs, which I recently tried. Although it was a separate order, it’s worth noting how incredible the PHD hybrid lip oils from House Labs truly are. Not only do they provide a stunning tint, but they also offer intense hydration without any stickiness. These lip oils have a delightful lack of fragrance, making them even more enjoyable. Without a doubt, they have earned a spot in my top-five favorite lip oils. The new color I acquired, Primary, is simply breathtaking. It’s a beautiful cherry-pinky red shade that adds a touch of elegance to any look.
A Honey-Infused Lip Oil: A Must-Try
Another lip oil I couldn’t resist trying is one that has garnered immense love and praise from countless individuals. This lip oil not only lives up to the hype but also surpasses expectations. Its incredible hydrating properties are partially attributed to its honey infusion. When applied, it instantly revitalizes the lips, leaving them feeling nourished and moisturized. The formula has a striking resemblance to that of House Labs, with both brands providing exceptional hydration without the sticky sensation often associated with glosses.
These lip oils offer a level of hydration that goes beyond what one would typically expect from a lip product. They provide a glossy finish without the sticky texture, making them a perfect addition to any makeup routine. Whether you opt for the PHD hybrid lip oils from House Labs or the honey-infused lip oil, you won’t be disappointed. Give them a try and experience the transformative power of true lip hydration.
Lip Oil Mascara
The Covergirl Clean Topia mascara provides a unique experience that feels like applying lip oil to your lashes. It’s been my latest obsession, as it not only feels comfortable during application, but also gives my lashes volume, length, and separation. What I love most is how it enhances the look of my lower lashes. For a classic touch, I’ll be using my all-time favorite Kiss Pomodora lashes. Today, I won’t be applying eyeliner, as these lashes provide just the right amount of thickness and darkness to complete the look.
Glowy SPF
Moving on to the skin, I’m starting off with the Posa’s Dream Beam SPF 40. I’ve been testing this product out and it gives a beautiful, dewy glow to the skin. However, I will mention that it leaves a slight white cast, though nothing too extreme. The packaging is super cute, by the way. Once blended in, you can see the glow, but if you prefer a more matte finish, this may not be the product for you. Personally, I find this SPF to be even more glowy than the popular Supergoop. It’s highly hydrating, but when it comes to using it under makeup, it can feel a bit greasy if you apply too much. So, there are definitely pros and cons to consider. I’d love to hear if any of you have tried this product and what your thoughts are.
The Hourglass Veil Skin Tint
The Hourglass Veil Skin Tint is a new addition to my makeup collection, and I must say, the packaging is absolutely beautiful. I opted for the shade nine, and I have to say, it is a perfect match for my skin tone.
This skin tint has a hydrating formula, and when I wore it the other day, it gave my skin a beautiful glow. The way it blends is just remarkable, and I can’t help but fall in love with Hourglass as a luxury brand at Sephora. Their complexion products never disappoint.
Hourglass Concealers
Speaking of concealers, I have two here. Let’s start with the Makeup by Mario concealer in the shade 260. Unfortunately, this shade turned out to be too yellow for my under eyes. I need to find a different shade that matches better.
On the other hand, Hourglass also offers a concealer that I absolutely adore. The formula is fantastic, and it provides great coverage without being heavy on the skin. It blends seamlessly, and it’s perfect for brightening up the under eye area.
Hourglass Loose Powder
Another Hourglass product that I can’t get enough of is their loose powder. It is truly a game-changer. Not only does it give a beautiful finish to the skin, but it also manages to keep everything in place throughout the day.
This powder has a healthy, lightweight feel on the skin, and it manages to even out my complexion while still looking natural. It’s like a secret weapon for achieving a flawless, yet effortless look.
Overall Impressions
My Sephora haul has been a great success. Trying out new makeup is always exciting, and I’m glad I took a chance on these Hourglass products. From the Veil Skin Tint to their concealers and loose powder, Hourglass has truly impressed me with their quality and performance. I can confidently say that they have become a go-to brand for me when it comes to complexion products.
Testing the First Concealer
I decided to give the first concealer a try, even though the shade wasn’t a perfect match for me. Honestly, I wasn’t too impressed with how it looked on my skin the other day. It was just okay, nothing extraordinary. However, I’m open to trying out another concealer to see if it works better for me.
Exploring Different Brushes
On the other side, I have two different brushes, although they look the same, they offer a different experience. Personally, I fell in love with the brush because of its incredible performance. The concealer itself is super creamy and blends seamlessly into the skin, providing a good medium coverage. But still, I wasn’t blown away by the way it wore throughout the day. Unfortunately, this formula didn’t change my life as I had hoped.
Thoughts on the Self-Setting Concealer
The Makeup by Mario concealer is advertised as a self-setting formula, but to be honest, I didn’t really see that. Even after application, you can still notice a hydrated and luminous finish under the eyes. I believe that no matter how dry your under eyes are, it’s essential to set your concealer, and this one is no exception.
Trying the Natasha Denona Concealer
Now, let’s move on to another new concealer from Natasha Denona. Unfortunately, the shade of this concealer, N4, is definitely not a good match for me. However, I still wanted to give it a try and see if I could make it work. I absolutely adore the packaging, it’s high glam and luxurious. The concealer has a flat spatula applicator, which I find really nice. But again, the shade just doesn’t suit me. On the bright side, this concealer also has a cooling and hydrating formula, offering medium coverage that can be built up.
And that concludes my Sephora haul and the exploration of the new makeup products I purchased. Although not everything was a perfect match or blew me away, it’s always fun to try out new products and experiment with different formulas. Perhaps, with further experimentation, some of these products will work better for me. But for now, the search for the perfect makeup continues.
Testing the Sephora Haul : The Foundation
The first item I tried from my Sephora haul was the foundation. It claims to boost collagen and provide anti-aging benefits, while also offering medium buildable coverage. Sounds promising, right? It even boasts up to 19 hours of wear, which is pretty impressive.
I have to admit, the foundation did wear nicely throughout the day. However, it didn’t quite give me that “wow” factor I was hoping for. Perhaps it’s because the shade isn’t a perfect match for my skin tone, which was throwing me off a little bit.
I also have a couple of other high-end concealers that I prefer over this one. The Urban Decay Naked Quickie and the Huda Beauty Faux Filter concealers are two of my favorites. If you’re looking for more full coverage, I would recommend those instead.
The Concealer Dilemma
Now, let’s talk about the concealer. I tried both the Natasha Denona and the Makeup by Mario concealers. Honestly, they both remind me of each other. The formula and coverage are very similar, but the shades are completely off.
To make it work, I decided to take my foundation brush and gently blend the edges of the concealer around my cheeks. This way, it looks more seamless and blended with the skin tint from the foundation.
A Pop of Color
Moving on to blush, I was excited to try the Makeup by Mario Soft Pop Plumping Blush Veil. This product promised to add a touch of color and plumpness to my cheeks.
Unfortunately, I didn’t notice much of a difference after applying it. The blush blended nicely, but it didn’t give me the desired plumping effect. It’s a decent blush, but I wouldn’t consider it a life-changing product.
The Perfect Pink Cream Blush
This Cream Blush in the perfect pink shade has quickly become one of my new favorites. The color is absolutely beautiful and it blends effortlessly onto the skin. The formula is buildable, allowing you to achieve your desired level of color intensity. It gives a lovely wash of color that looks natural and radiant without being overly dewy. It doesn’t take much for me to fall in love with a cream blush, and this one had me impressed from the moment I tried it. Even after a full day of wear, it still looked amazing.
The Ultra Pink Loose Setting Powder
Now let’s talk about the Ultra Pink Loose Setting Powder. I already have the translucent version, but I decided to give the pink version a try. It has a smoothing effect on the skin and provides a very matte finish. If you find the pink too intense, you can mix it with your translucent powder to tone it down. The packaging is also worth mentioning, as it comes with a cover that keeps the product from spilling out and ensures that you don’t waste any of it. I really appreciate this little detail, as it makes application much neater and more convenient.
Setting and Blending
Before setting my face, I like to blend out any creases under my eyes with my concealer brush. This helps to create a smooth base for the setting powder. I lightly run the brush over my under-eye area, making sure to blend out any lines or wrinkles. Then, I take a small amount of the pink setting powder and apply it to my under eyes. The tint of pink adds a subtle touch of color, which I find really pretty.
The Magic of Powder: Achieving a Blended Look
One of the first things I noticed about the Sephora haul is the transformative power of powder. Particularly when using a pink blush underneath, the powder magically blends everything together flawlessly. The pink under eye seamlessly merges with the pink blush, creating a harmonious flow of color. The result is a beautifully blended look that enhances the overall appearance.
Smooth and Matte: The One Size Powder
If you’re a fan of matte finishes, then the One Size powder is a must-have. Not only does it provide a smooth texture, but it also ensures that the rest of your face stays matte throughout the day. Without setting my concealer with this powder, I noticed that creasing would be inevitable. Hence, setting is key to achieving a flawless and long-lasting makeup look.
A Combination of Charlotte Tilbury Pressed Powders
To enhance the overall effect of the makeup, I decided to mix two shades of Charlotte Tilbury pressed powders: Shade One in Fair and Shade Two in Medium. This combination allows for a customized blend that matches my skin tone perfectly. To apply the powders, I opted for the Roseen Ben C brush, specifically the C41 brush. This brush is incredibly versatile and perfect for powder application.
Enhancing the Blush
While applying the powder, I noticed that the blush still peeked through, which was exactly what I wanted. I didn’t go overboard with the blush initially, as I wanted to avoid an overly dramatic effect. However, I discovered that the more powder I applied, the more the blush color popped, even after setting it with powder. Surprisingly, it didn’t disrupt or separate anything underneath, resulting in a flawless finish.
The Sephora haul has been a delightful experience of testing new makeup products. The power of powder, particularly the One Size powder, is truly remarkable in achieving a blended and matte finish. The combination of Charlotte Tilbury pressed powders and the artful use of the Roseen Ben C brush enhanced the overall appearance. Finally, the blush was beautifully highlighted without compromising the rest of the makeup. It’s safe to say that this haul has exceeded expectations, leaving me feeling confident and and ready to conquer the day.
The Rare Beauty Brow Gel
The Rare Beauty Brow Gel has been my go-to product for touching up my brows. It provides the perfect amount of color and gives my brows a little extra definition. I’ve been testing it out and I must say, I really like it. The brow gel is super lightweight, making it comfortable to wear throughout the day.
Comparison with Dominique Cosmetics Brow Blowout Shaping Gel
I also have the Dominique Cosmetics Brow Blowout Shaping Gel for comparison. The main difference between the two is the formula. While both gels have a similar wand size, the Dominique Cosmetics gel has a slightly thicker consistency. The Dominique Cosmetics gel provides a more intense hold, while the Rare Beauty gel is more lightweight. It’s almost like having brow lamination in a tube.
The Rare Beauty Gel Eyeliners
One product from Rare Beauty that I’m not particularly impressed with is their new gel eyeliners. I find them to be quite underwhelming and not revolutionary in any way.
Sephora Haul – Testing New Makeup
R Beauty Eye Products
If you’re looking to splurge on an eye product from R Beauty, I would recommend going with the shadow sticks instead of the gel liner. While the gel liner is not terrible, it lacks the creaminess and pigmentation of the shadow sticks.
I decided to test out the brown color, True Brown, by applying it on my tight line and waterline. However, I found that it wasn’t a life-changing product. To achieve the true color and pigment, I had to go over my waterline multiple times. Overall, I don’t think this product is necessary. Instead, I’m going to use the shadow stick in Integrity to highlight my inner corners and even my nose a little bit. I’ll also apply it on my brow bone for some added dimension.
Cherry Cola Lip Combo
Now, let’s talk about a lip combo that’s been making its rounds, the Cherry Cola lip combo. I’m not sure where people come up with these names, maybe on Tik Tok or elsewhere. It’s both cute and a little weird how we name makeup trends after food.
Regardless, I think the Cherry Cola lips are actually pretty cute.
Lip Combo
We’re going to experiment with a lip combo using some rare Beauty lip liners, which I believe are perfect for this lip trend. Let’s start off with the lip liner in Strong. Once applied, it may look a little crazy at first, but don’t worry. We will then use another rare Beauty lip liner, this one in Bold, which is a beautiful off-red shade. This will help diffuse the edges of the lips. To blend it in, I’ll use my finger gently. To complete the look, we’ll add some gloss over the lip liners. These two lip liners are truly perfection, especially for the upcoming fall time. If you’re into a bolder lip, you can still make it wearable. Adding a little gloss on top will do the trick. I recommend using the lip oil as it is incredibly hydrating. Just make sure to wipe off any excess before dipping the applicator back in.
New Setting Spray
Now, let’s move on to a new setting spray from Lys Beauty. It’s their natural finish makeup setting spray. The packaging is absolutely lovely and the spray itself comes out in a fine mist, which is perfect. When you apply this setting spray, it creates a beautiful veil over the skin, almost like a second skin, without making your face look wet. It’s a great way to set your makeup while still maintaining a natural finish.
First Impressions
After trying out these new makeup items from Sephora, I must say I am quite intrigued. The lip combo with the rare Beauty lip liners is a definite winner. The colors are stunning and the formula is easy to work with. It’s a great option for those who want to embrace a bold lip without going overboard. The addition of gloss adds a touch of shine and completes the look perfectly.
As for the Lys Beauty setting spray, I am impressed with its fine mist and the way it effortlessly sets my makeup in place. The natural finish it provides is exactly what I look for in a setting spray. It doesn’t make my face look overly matte or shiny, but rather enhances my complexion.
Overall, this Sephora haul has been a success so far. The lip combo and the setting spray have definitely caught my attention and I can’t wait to continue experimenting with them. Trying new makeup is always exciting and it’s even better when you find products that exceed your expectations. I highly recommend giving these items a try if you’re in the market for some new additions to your makeup collection.
Sephora Haul: Testing New Makeup
The Perfect Finishing Mist for Oily Skin
After applying my makeup, I realized that the finishing touch was missing. I needed something that would give me a natural, yet flawless finish. Especially for those with oily skin, I wanted a product that wouldn’t feel too heavy. That’s when I came across the perfect solution: a fine mist from Sephora. This mist is ideal for anyone who wants a natural look without the intensity. It’s also great for those who simply want a fine mist in general. Trust me, you’ll love this product!
Adding the Perfect Bronzer
Oops, I almost forgot to add bronzer to my makeup routine. Let me quickly fix that. One of my all-time favorite high-end bronzers is the FENT Instant Warmth Bronzer in the shade Shady Biz. It’s the perfect bronzer for everyday use and gives me just the right amount of warmth. If I’m feeling a bit more tanned or want something warmer, I opt for the color Private Island. But for my everyday look, Shady Biz is my go-to shade.
Reviewing the Products
After applying all the makeup, I took a moment to evaluate the results. Overall, I think it looked pretty good, but there were a few products that left me with mixed feelings. Let me quickly share my thoughts on each item to give you a speedy review.
Tinted Lip Oils: House Labs vs Honey Infused
I can’t emphasize enough how much I love the House Labs lip oil. This time, I tried a new shade that absolutely stole my heart. If you’re a fan of tinted lip oils, you need to give House Labs a try. The honey-infused lip oil, on the other hand, was also quite impressive. Though it comes with a hefty price tag, the formula is worth splurging on. The only thing I wish was different is the scent. I expected it to have a stronger honey fragrance, but it still feels amazing on the lips.
Remember, it’s essential to try out different makeup products and experiment with new colors and formulas to find what works best for you. Sephora offers a range of options that cater to different needs and preferences. So go ahead, indulge in a Sephora haul, and enjoy the excitement of trying everything new!
Sephora Haul: Testing Rare Beauty Shadow Sticks
The Rare Beauty Shadow sticks are truly a sight to behold. Not only are they stunning to look at, but they also possess impressive longevity. These cream shadow sticks are incredibly easy to blend, making them a dream to work with. I cannot wait to experiment with the other shades that are available. The potential for creativity and different eye looks is boundless.
Reviewing Dream Beam SPF
Unfortunately, the Dream Beam SPF did not meet my expectations. While it does provide a radiant and hydrating finish, I find that it leaves a white cast on the skin that is not flattering. Though I may continue using it for now, I don’t think I would repurchase it in the future. I have other sunscreen favorites that offer both a glowy and hydrating effect without the unwanted white cast.
The Makeup by Mario Concealer
Comparing the Makeup by Mario concealer to the one from Natasha Denona, I must admit that it performed slightly better. Although the shade is not a perfect match for me, I can still make it work. This medium coverage concealer has a hydrating formula that imparts a gorgeous glow. However, if you prefer full coverage and a matte finish, this may not be the concealer for you. It’s not a bad option, but it doesn’t offer anything groundbreaking compared to other concealers on the market. I will continue testing it to fully evaluate its performance.
Struggling with the Natasha Denona Concealer
The Natasha Denona concealer, on the other hand, has left me a bit perplexed. I desperately need to find a better shade because the current one is completely throwing me off. Sadly, I did not enjoy how it wore on my skin. It seemed to excessively crease on me, which was a disappointment. Nevertheless, I am determined to keep experimenting with it in the hopes of finding the right shade and application technique.
My Sephora haul has been a mix of hits and misses. The Rare Beauty Shadow sticks have impressed me with their performance and versatility. However, the Dream Beam SPF failed to meet my expectations due to the white cast it leaves on the skin. As for the two concealers, the Makeup by Mario option showed more promise, while the Natasha Denona concealer left me wanting more. I will continue to explore and test these products in order to form a more comprehensive opinion.
The Soft Pop Plumping Blush Fail from Makeup by Mario
I recently tried out the Soft Pop Plumping Blush from Makeup by Mario, and I must say, it is absolutely gorgeous! The blush has a soft pink color that gives a natural, youthful glow to the cheeks. Throughout the day, the blush wears beautifully, maintaining its vibrancy and freshness. I especially love how it pairs with the pink blush I mentioned earlier. This combination creates a stunning look that I will definitely continue to use. I am also tempted to try out the translucent version of this blush to see which one works best for me.
The Hydrating Skin Tip from Hourglass
Another product that caught my attention is the hydrating skin tip from Hourglass. Let me tell you, it is a game-changer! Despite not being a fan of the Kosas SPF, I was pleasantly surprised by how well this skin tint worked. It is lightweight and provides a hydrating effect, leaving my skin looking smooth and flawless. I will definitely continue testing this out to see if it truly lives up to its claims.
The L Natural Finish Makeup Setting Spray
One item that has become a staple in my makeup routine is the L Natural Finish Makeup Setting Spray. If you prefer a fine mist that feels weightless on the skin, then this is the perfect product for you. It sets my makeup in place without feeling heavy or sticky. What’s even better is that it is fragrance-free, which is a huge plus for those with sensitivities. So far, I am loving everything about this setting spray and will continue using it in my everyday makeup routine.
Overall, I’m really excited to be trying out these products again and giving you guys my thoughts. The second first impression allows me to provide more accurate and detailed feedback. Stay tuned for my upcoming videos where I’ll be testing even more new makeup products. Sephora hauls are always so much fun, especially when you get to try everything and explore new looks. Let me know in the comments if you have any recommendations or if you’ve tried any of these products yourself. Happy testing!
Overall, my Sephora haul was a bit underwhelming. The foundation and concealer didn’t quite meet my expectations, and the blush was just average. While these products are not bad by any means, they just didn’t have that “wow” factor I was hoping for.
But hey, that’s the fun of trying new makeup! Sometimes you find hidden gems, and other times you discover products that don’t quite work for you. So, despite the lackluster experience with these particular items, I’m still excited to explore and test new products in the future.
