Exciting First Impressions
Yesterday, I came across the new Haus Labs blush balbs on the Sephora app. Although they were available for a limited time, I managed to snag three shades for a first impression today. I’m eager to try them out, swatch them, and see how they blend with powder products. The exclusivity of these blushes has piqued my interest, making me wonder if this will become a trend for Haus Labs. However, the anticipation of May 30th for their official release is making me even more curious about their performance.
Playing with Application
As I dive into testing these Color Fuse Glassy Blush Bombs, I can’t help but wonder how they will react on my skin. Will they be easy to blend? Will the shades complement my complexion? The thrill of discovering a new makeup product always excites me, and I’m hoping these blush bombs live up to the hype surrounding them. The promise of a glassy finish adds an extra layer of intrigue to this makeup experimentation.
Undefined Future Availability
With the sudden disappearance of the Haus Labs blush balbs from the Sephora app, questions arise about their future availability. Will they become a staple in the Haus Labs lineup, or was their brief appearance a sneaky marketing tactic to generate buzz? Despite the uncertainty surrounding their release strategy, I am eager to see how these blush bombs perform and potentially become a must-have item for makeup enthusiasts.
Product Information
These are the brand new Haus Labs Color Fuse Glassy Blush Bombs, blush sticks in eight different shades retailing for $34. Described as high shine, hydrating, and long-wearing serum-based blushes with over 70 skincare ingredients to hydrate and plump the skin in a long-wearing, glassy balm.
Shade Selection
The three shades selected for this review were Glassy Lilac, Glassy Paya, and Glassy Rosette, avoiding a bright orange shade due to personal preferences. The packaging is sleek with characteristically Haus Labs branding, with stickers for easy shade identification and a balm within for dual lip and cheek use.
Application and Wear Test
Upon application, the blush bombs melted onto the skin, providing a glossy finish that indeed looked great on a bare face. The high shine and hydration were evident, and the pigmentation added a pop of color to the cheeks. However, when layered over powder products, the balm texture did not blend seamlessly, leaving a slightly patchy and uneven appearance. While the glassy effect was noticeable, the long-wearing claim did not hold up throughout the day, requiring touch-ups to maintain color intensity.
Universal Use
So it’s kind of universal or multi use so I’m just going to go ahead and apply some to the lips just to see. Oh yeah, I mean that definitely has pigment, whoo.
Color Selection
I just got a look at myself and it was quite quite the photo. Um, wow, it’s giving me the vibe of unfinished makeup, the shirt and the lips. Not sure if I love that color with the vibe, but I want to go ahead and Swatch these because they do say that they’re bombs.
Shine and Pigmentation
Oh yeah, I mean there is a definite shine to these. So this is the glassy lilac. I do feel like there’s nice pigment though, and I don’t find this to be thick. It feels quite thin. The second shade that I picked up is called glossy Paya. This one, I feel like may be my favorite. Just from what I saw online. I just felt like this looked so beautiful.
Texture and Color
The last one is more of a muted color, and this is glassy rosette. So, this one is definitely just the most neutral pink color and does definitely have some rose undertones in there. So, I’m curious to test these out on the skin.
Testing the NEW HAUS LABS COLOR FUSE GLASSY BLUSH BOMBS
Just because I find I have more control once I’ve powdered and done all of that. I just wanted to note that, hopefully, no comments come in about it, because lately there’s been an uptick and I’m like y’all. My brows are not done yet so let’s go ahead and zoom in right. Now I just have foundation on I didn’t put concealer on either because I want to play around with these and then I do want to sort of clean up underneath, but I thought that we could start with applying just on an unset face Swatch.
Initial Impressions
A couple of these, and then I want to go into putting on on a cream bronzer and then seeing how they play with powder. So I want to start off with glossy lilac now I’m going to be using brushes working off the back of my hand. I just don’t generally enjoy swiping things on my actual face because I feel like it just is prone to lifting and it doesn’t blend correctly, but that’s just my personal preference.
Application Process
There is a little bit of a stain left over most specifically on the two brighter Shades. So I’m wondering if that’s part of the long wear claim so I’m going to be using this half magic Beauty, blush brush and I’m just going to put some of this lilac shade on the back of my hand, and I want to see what kind of pigment we get. I don’t have any bronzer on yet, okay wo, I feel like I’m already seeing lifting and I don’t even have a powder on. Is that just me, or is that oh that’s definitely lifted okay, so that definitely did disrupt my Foundation, which doesn’t give me much confidence but I’m just going to build this up.
Foundation Combination Experiment
I mixed two foundations that work really well for me, which are the Nars soft matte and then 23 Armani luminous silk. So I dont know if this is maybe a formula that only works with glowy foundations. It looks okay, like from you know, a distance, but when I look up close, it almost does look like the blush is on my bare skin, like it has disrupted my foundation, and then you can see. I dont know where my Foundation is sitting makes me feel like this is definitely going to be a finicky product, especially if you are a matte type of you know, makeup wear so Im zooming out a little bit.
Initial Application Results
So this is what the Lilac shade looks like. I want to go ahead and wipe this off, and then I want to try to just apply the Armani Foundation underneath to see, if maybe this is reacting to the matte formula, if that makes sense. Okay, so I went ahead and reapplied just my Armani Foundation. Its definitely more glowy, my pores are more enhanced and its just a little bit deeper. So I usually like to mix these two. But again I want to see if this Foundation works better with this blush formula being that it is more hydrating.
Second Application Trial
So Im going to go in next with the glassy Rosette, I also am going to use a BK Beauty. 109 brush lets see if we have better luck this time I dont know if this is lifting quite as bad, and I think its because its so balmy that its just removing the foundation underneath slightly so Im just building this shade up, I mean the shade is Pretty – and it does have like this really pretty balmy glossy look – I just dont know how Im going to wear this, especially if its already disrupting the actual liquid foundation Im.
The Close-Up
Looking up close, this one looks better. I do have to say I’m not seeing as much of that outline of my foundation, so I would say that if you’re going to pick these up or if you use them, you probably do want to use more of a hydrating foundation or base overall. It definitely has a stick to it.
The Encounter
Oh balls, well, I absolutely just got attacked by a stink bug. You know it wouldn’t be a Babs video if there wasn’t some sort of flying insect. Okay, so we’re regrouping. I flushed him down the toilet, now I’m about to choke.
The Tackiness
What I was saying was when I touch to see if this is tacky, it has a slight tack to it, but it also lifts. So I just don’t know how they can claim that this is longwearing. Other than if there is some sort of staining property again, but this is that rosette shade so I’m going to go ahead and remove this.
The Big Test
And then I want to go in with the big daddy and we’re just going to go for it, see if we can get this to work on this complexion and also try it with powder. Just have your fingers crossed for me.
The Aftermath
Okay, so I went ahead and reapplied my foundation. I did mix a little bit of that Nars in just to kind of keep a seamless look. So this is glossy Paya, which is the brightest shade that I purchased and I’m going to be using an hourglass.
The Application Process
I don’t know which brush this is, I believe it’s like their blush brush or it could be their complexion brush. I will link it down below and I’m going to just dip into the product. On my hand, I’m going to try to work it in a little bit more and let’s see.
Oh, you know what actually well. I guess we could just do this anyways. Well, just do this application cuz! I was going to put on a liquid bronzer, but let’s see how we’re looking here.
Okay, so it’s looking, okay working it in your brush is super helpful, it’s not as intimidating as it may look in the component. Of course, you can go crazy if you want. I’m going to build up just a little bit more, but I am curious on how this is going to play with powder and other products.
Pairing with Other Products
So I want to go in next and use a little bit of a cream bronzer, so I’m going to go ahead and dip into this, give Beauty, bronzer Duo and I’m going to use the Cream side. This is in toen just to add some warmth, and then we will go in with concealer and then powder and see how these blushes play. So I’m just going to apply this underneath. I would have liked to put this on before, but I forgot so just going to blend that underneath and then I am going to go in with my foundation brush just to soften and to clean up, because I do feel like I do tend to go lower with cream bronzers so far, I’m not noticing any issues in terms of how it is reacting to the cream.
The Application Process
As I delve into the realm of makeup application, I start by using bronzer all around my face before moving on to the Haus Labs Color Fuse Glassy Blush Bombs in Paya. Working the product into my hand, I carefully apply it to my cheek, ensuring a seamless blend for a natural flush of color.
The Concealer Step
Transitioning to concealer, I reach for the abh Magic Touch in shade nine. This step, post-cream products, allows me greater precision in placement. I find that this approach helps me avoid any confusion in contour, blush, and concealer placement, yielding a more controlled and flawless finish.
The Setting Powder Decision
To set my cream products, I opt for the lunar Beauty powder in light. This particular powder, a personal favorite due to its smoothing and lightweight texture, is a staple in my makeup routine. If a product cannot be paired with this powder, it raises concerns about its compatibility and performance.
The Final
Upon completing the application of the new Haus Labs Color Fuse Glassy Blush Bombs, I am left with a skin that appears well-blended and aesthetically pleasing. However, the ultimate test lies in the wearability and longevity of the product throughout the day. Will the color remain vibrant and fresh, or will it fade into obscurity as the hours pass by?
Application with a Puff
So lets just say that I am going to be using a puff. I do feel like. I have better luck, setting creams when I use a puff. So what Im going to do is blend any creasing out and then very quickly go in with the powder work. Some on the inside of my palm and then Im going to set my under eye and pull down and then whatevers left over Im just going to press over.
Visible Results
Okay, so Im sure you can see the dramatic difference that this powder makes on my skin. It literally Smoothes my pores, like no other powder. Also I dont know if this is lifted at all. I dont know I feel like you can still see in certain areas like where the blush ends in my Foundation meets.
Setting Comparison
So I want to zoom you out a little bit so you can see this is set with the lunar and then this is unset. So I want to go ahead and set the other side so again just taking the powder and pulling down so that the most powder is on my T Zone, where I do tend to get the most oily.
Overall Look
So I went ahead and set my entire face, and this is what the blush looks like. I am shocked that you can set this with powder, but when I start looking up close its almost like, I have two ovals on my skin Im going to turn my brightness down.
First Impressions
So its almost like right in here I can see like foundation and then it looks almost like a little line where the blush sits all right guys.
Application Process
So I went ahead and finish my makeup off camera. I just did really the bare minimum. I wanted to go in and try this on top of a set face just to really see. I didnt apply any highlighter, because I really wanted you to see what these look like.
Product Test
I think, Im going to go in with the Lilac. I feel like that. One spoke to me: the most. Im actually going to try to use my BK Beauty foundation brush. This is a 101 wondering if having a bigger brush, where I can really distribute the product may help. Im just really working it in and then I want to see if I can amp this up really really really slowly.
Unexpected Results
So I feel like, with a very very, very light hand and distributing the product evenly its, not lifting that I can tell. But again you have to use a lot of product, so that could definitely be a con, because Im really going in this is my second layer and Im going to just try to punch this up. I feel like that, actually worked better than applying it to an unset face. Im, truly flabbergasted right now.
Initial First Impression
I don’t know what to think, because now that I just applied that on top of powder, I think it’s beautiful what is happening. I’m having a crisis at the moment. You guys will have to let me know, but I feel like that just brought my face to life. Now granted, it did enhance my pores a little bit just because I did bring this in, but that is probably my favorite application thus far with this product.
Texture and Pigmentation
The Haus Labs Color Fuse Glassy Blush Bombs undeniably deliver on the promise of high pigment and a balmy, glossy texture. The product applies smoothly and evenly, leaving a vibrant pop of color on the cheeks. The thin texture of the blush allows for buildable coverage without feeling heavy or sticky on the skin.
Longevity and Staining
While the long-wear claim might be questionable, users have noted that the blush does leave behind a slight stain. This can be both a pro and a con, depending on personal preference. Some may appreciate the lasting power of the stain, while others may prefer a more easily removable formula.
Application and Compatibility
The formula of the Haus Labs blush bombs may not be universally compatible with all skin types and makeup preferences. Users with oily skin or those who prefer matte products may find that the glossy finish of the blush does not suit their needs. Additionally, the compatibility of the blush with powder products and application tools is something to consider when incorporating it into your makeup routine.
Overall
In a market saturated with a plethora of blush options, the Haus Labs Color Fuse Glassy Blush Bombs may not stand out as a must-have product for everyone. While the shades are pretty and the texture is appealing, there is a lack of “wow” factor that sets them apart from other blushes. The unique lilac shade may be the most intriguing option for those looking for something different, but it may require some experimentation to find the best application method for individual preferences. Ultimately, the suitability of these blush bombs will depend on personal preferences and skin type.
First Impressions
Upon first application, the Haus Labs Color Fuse Glassy Blush Bombs give off a glossy balmy look that is perfect for those with dry skin. The formula is not drying and provides a dewy finish that is sure to appeal to many makeup enthusiasts.
Application Experience
If you prefer a more natural, glowing look, these blush bombs may be right up your alley. They blend seamlessly into the skin, creating a flush of color that looks like a natural, healthy glow from within. Using a light hand is key with these products, as a little goes a long way.
Longevity and Wear
One downside to these blush bombs is that they may not be the longest-wearing formula out there. Those with oily skin may find that the glossy finish fades throughout the day, requiring touch-ups. However, for those with dry or normal skin, the dewy finish should last well throughout the day.
Overall
The Haus Labs Color Fuse Glassy Blush Bombs are a hit for those looking for a glossy, balmy blush formula that provides a natural, dewy finish. While they may not be the most long-wearing product on the market, they are perfect for creating a healthy, youthful flush to the cheeks. If you enjoy a more glossy, hydrating blush look, these may be worth checking out.
Whether the Haus Labs Color Fuse Glassy Blush Bombs turn out to be a hit or miss remains to be seen. The anticipation, the exclusivity, and the promise of a glassy finish all contribute to the mystery and allure of these new products. As I embark on this makeup journey, I can’t help but feel a sense of excitement and curiosity about the potential of these blush bombs. Only time and testing will reveal their true impact on the beauty community.
The Haus Labs Color Fuse Glassy Blush Bombs offer a unique glossy finish and hydration for a fresh-faced look. The shade range provides options for different preferences, and the dual lip and cheek use adds versatility to the product. However, the balm texture may not work well with all makeup products, and the long-wearing claim may require frequent touch-ups for sustained color intensity. Overall, the Blush Bombs could be a hit for those seeking a glassy, hydrated finish, but may miss the mark for those looking for a truly long-wearing blush option.
I also want to make a note, because every time I start a video off with my foundation not finished or no foundation, people think that these are my finished brows. Here to tell you they’re not, so every time I get that comment I’m like okay, my brows are not going to be finished until I’m completely done with everything.
Overall, the application process of the NEW HAUS LABS COLOR FUSE GLASSY BLUSH BOMBS seems to be smooth and easy to work with. The blush blends well with other products such as cream bronzer and concealer, making it versatile for different makeup looks. The buildable formula allows for customized pigmentation, giving the option to go for a soft flush of color or a more intense look. It would be interesting to see how this blush performs throughout the day in terms of longevity and wear. As of now, the initial application has been promising, making it worth a try for those looking for a new blush product to add to their collection.
I just dont know what to make of this product. Im on a roller coaster ride. Its like Im up Im down Im up Im down.
So let’s get into my final thoughts because I feel like I’m just a little bit jumbled right now. Okay, guys, so now that we have tried these blushes out in a multitude of ways, I want to give you my initial first impression. I feel like I’m a little bit perplexed because I just feel like overall, my gut is telling me that this isn’t standing out to me solely because this is a finicky product.
Challenging Product
It’s one of those products that I feel like you have to have the right brush. You have to have the right foundation. You have to have the right technique. I don’t see it as being a throw on and go effortless beautiful blush, which there’s a million on the market. So you really got to wow me. Otherwise, what are you bringing to the table?
Beautiful Shades
I think the shades are beautiful. My favorite has to be the Lilac, and I do think that you can get these to work. You just have to find the sweet spot in terms of application and meshing with other products that work with this formula.
