Product Overview
So I picked up the new Soft’lit, naturally luminous longwear foundation, and I just want to put it to the test. I will be applying this, seeing how it looks on the skin, doing a wear test with a couple of check-ins, and then I’ll give you my initial first impression on this foundation.
Product Details
I picked this up from Sephora. This is the Fenty Beauty Soft’lit, naturally luminous longwear Foundation. You get 32ml or 1.08oz of product, and there are 50 different shades available. I chose the shade 210, which is a light medium neutral tone. This foundation is described as hydrating and glowy, with a waterproof formula that reduces shine for a natural finish. It claims to be hydrating, long-wearing, medium coverage, and waterproof.
Application and Claims
For medium coverage, the instructions recommend using a sponge, and for full coverage…
First Impressions
After applying the foundation, I noticed that…
Wear Test
Throughout the day, I did a few check-ins to see how the foundation held up…
Packaging and Shade Selection
You can use a foundation brush, of course they say to use their foundation brush, but this is what the box packaging looks like and again I did my best to get the right shade, but I struggle especially online, so I went with 210, which was supposed to Be neutral looking at it here, I cant really tell because it has the Frosted bottle, but this is what the packaging looks like frosted bottle very clean and simple.
Consistency and Coverage
Im going to go ahead and shake this, and then I want to Swatch it and see what The consistency feels like okay, so you can see that this also has a pump. I feel like this shade actually might be pretty good. It does feel quite liquidy. It definitely runs down your hand when you Swatch it, and this is a neutral shade. I didnt want to go for something that was warm because Ive heard that Fenty products oxidize sometimes lately when I get warm Shades, I feel like theyre just p feeling way too warm. So I wanted to opt for something more on the neutral side. So a little bit goes a long way. It does seem to have some good coverage.
Luminosity and Texture
Im interested to see how this gives me a Luminosity a lot of times with luminous or hydrating foundations, especially lately they feel like theyre, very thick and emolient, and they have that skin care type of feel. This does not its very thin. It doesnt feel heavy upon swatching it so Im interested to see how it gives me that glow, because Im not seeing any sort of Luminosity when I Swatch it lets say like the makeup by Mario foundation.
Skin Prep and Application
So I want to go ahead and zoom you in and well just apply this and see what we think all right, so I’ve got you Zoomed In. As far as skin prep, I wanted to go with a moisturizer that I use almost every day, which is the frck rich moisturizer. I’ve gone through more tubes than I can count of this. It just works beautifully with my skin type. I would say I’m combo, I used to think I was combo oily, but as I get a little bit older, I feel like I’m, meaning more just like combo and maybe dry in certain areas. I can get oily through the T Zone, so, of course, we will see how my skin looks as I wear this.
Pore Smoothing Primer Test
I thought that I would use a pore-smoothing primer just on one side of my face to see if we can notice a difference in terms of how my texture looks. My go-to is the glowish blur Jam from Huda Beauty, so I’m just going to take a little bit out and apply this only on this side of my face. I want to see if I feel like this Foundation is flattering on pores or if the pore-smoothing primer really does make a huge difference. So I’m just going to blend this on this side and then, on the other side of my face, I just have the moisturizer and nothing else.
Foundation Application
I’m going to go ahead and pump out just one pump to start, and in terms of application, I’m going to use a beauty blender on the side with the primer and then, I’m going to use a brush on the other side. Just because it says you get medium coverage with a sponge, you get full coverage if you use a little bit more with a brush, so I’m just going to dip in and start applying.
First Impressions
My experience with Fenty complexion products has been hit or miss, with some products working well for my skin type and others falling short of expectations. However, upon first impression, I appreciate the lightweight feel of the new Fenty Beauty Soft’lit Luminous Foundation. In contrast to many recent complexion products that tend to be heavy and sticky, this foundation feels thin and light on the skin.
Application and Coverage
As I continue to apply the foundation, I find that it offers a solid medium coverage without the need to build it up excessively. The finish is beautiful, with a nice radiance that enhances the complexion. Unlike some luminous foundations, this one does not appear to have any glitter or overly illuminating properties, giving a more natural look.
Wear Test
I am curious to see how well this foundation will wear throughout the day, as I have found that many hydrating or luminous foundations tend to fade faster. Additionally, I have encountered difficulties blending foundations into my hairline as a bleach blonde, so I will be paying attention to how this foundation performs in that aspect as well.
New Fenty Beauty SoftLit Luminous Foundation First Impressions
Typically, I don’t feel like I see that they’re just either super heavy or they have like no coverage they’re like a skin tint. This is a very nice medium coverage builds with no effort, so I have High Hopes.
Application with Brush vs. Sponge
This looks way better than I thought it would on my skin type, but I want to go in next with a brush, so I just have an l Duo brush and I am going to pump out again starting with one pump. This side just has moisturizer, and I want to see how this lays on pores and texture with no pore primer. It did say that you would get full coverage with a brush, comparing the two just upon application.
Comparison of Coverage
I feel like they both are pretty close in terms of like how much coverage I’m seeing. I am noticing that I probably won’t need to use as much on the brush side, because I still have a decent amount left. So one pump with the brush two pumps with the sponge okay, so this is what the foundation looks like freshly applied.
Fenty Beauty Soft’LIT Luminous Foundation
I tried out the new Fenty Beauty Soft’LIT Luminous Foundation for the first time, and I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. The foundation felt really light on my skin, and it had a beautiful glow to it that was different from other foundations on the market. I didn’t feel like it was enhancing the texture of my skin, which is a common issue for me with other foundations.
Texture and Coverage
The foundation provided a good medium coverage that was easy to build up. I liked that it wasn’t overloaded with fragrance, and I didn’t notice any scent while applying it. I was also happy to see that it didn’t stick to my nose, which can be a problem with more emollient foundations. Overall, I found the texture and coverage of the Fenty Beauty foundation to be impressive.
Wear Test
After finishing the rest of my makeup, I was excited to see how the foundation would perform throughout the day. I didn’t apply any powder on one side of my face to see how it would look without setting it, and I was pleased to see that it didn’t look significantly worse than the side with primer. This gives me hope that the foundation won’t be too finicky and will work well even on days when I don’t have time to prep my skin.
Blending and Setting
In my description box, but I had zero issues with anything blending over this Foundation. I didnt use any cream products. I just used powder, bronzer and blush, but everything Blended, super easily setting with powder was no issue. I didnt experience lifting that. I do experience a lot of times with those really skincare heavy foundations, and I really think that is because this formula is so light and thin its just different than most of the hydrating luminous foundations that we see on the market.
Texture and Luminosity
So I just did what I would typically do, which is set my entire face: I’m, not somebody that can just set. You know on my under eye. I do have to set my whole face because I really can’t stand the feeling of wet foundation. I don’t feel, like my skin, looks overly textured on either side and I also don’t think that it looks overly luminous.
Wear Test Expectations
I don’t know watching my camera footage I’m going to have to put this into my laptop and kind of see how it looks, but in person I’m not necessarily feeling like this is over the top, hydrating or luminous. But I also feel like it’s pretty secure doesn’t feel like it’s going anywhere. I have to admit that this foundation is completely different than what I was expecting just in every facet. So I am interested to see how this wears curious. If I’m going to get oily or if my skin is just going to really settle in and have that more of, like luminous dewy look, so I will be checking back in here in like 4 or 5 hours I’m getting a little bit of a late start.
First Check-In
Today, it’s about 10:00 am, so I’m going to try to wear this until at least 5:00 pm to get this video up today. I will check back in with you guys in like 4 or 5 hours and then our final check-in tonight around 5 or 6. So I will see you guys in a little bit.
Impressions After 5 Hours
I’m back for my first check-in, the time got away from me. It is 3:14 pm, so it’s been about 5 hours right now. I actually just got done doing a ton of yard work. My husband is mulching and I picked up a bunch of sticks because we have a ton of trees, 5 Acres, a pond. I was mowing, and my husband mentioned that this is a good wear test. I was surprised at how good my makeup still looks despite the debris from mowing. It’s an intense wear test as it’s 80 degrees outside and nice and breezy.
Wear Test Continues
Other than the sweating on my forehead and the little bits of debris from mowing, the foundation is holding up well. I’m not going to sit around all day in the AC just because I’m doing a wear test. I’m really putting it to the test under various conditions. The foundation has managed to stay in place despite the outdoor activities.
Initial Impressions on Wear
I dont think this is really worn off a little bit. Maybe on my chin, like a smidge on my chin and again, I did not use a setting spray which I typically would do now in terms of being oily or dewy.
Touch-Up and Assessment
I dont really feel like Im. Either maybe a little bit of my natural oils coming in right through here and again, maybe a little bit of wear on my chin, but I want to go head and take a brush.
Refreshing the Look
Try to Dust Away the debris thats on my skin, so Im just going to take a brush and try to sweep away any little bits of leaves or grass. I thought it was going to look much worse, but it wasnt too awful bad okay.
Initial Application:
After applying the new Fenty Beauty Soft’lit Luminous Foundation, my first impression was positive. The foundation glided on smoothly and provided a beautiful, glowing finish to my skin. I paired it with a favorite primer, which enhanced the overall look and texture of my skin.
First Check-In:
Several hours into wearing the foundation, I noticed that my skin still appeared luminous and not overly oily. There was a slight bit of wear on my forehead, likely from sweating and external factors. However, the foundation held up well overall, and I appreciated the smooth, glowy finish it provided.
Final Check-In:
After a full day of wear, I found that the Fenty Beauty Soft’lit Luminous Foundation had held up impressively. Despite some oil breakthrough on areas without primer, the foundation remained intact and provided a radiant look. I particularly noticed the difference in texture and oil control on the side where I had used my beloved primer, showcasing its effectiveness.
Formula and Texture
The Fenty Beauty Soft’LIT Luminous Foundation surprised me with its lightweight formula. Unlike many foundations in the industry right now, this one is not thick or overly hydrating. It feels comfortable on the skin and provides a luminous finish without making my skin look oily.
Suitability for Different Skin Types
I believe that this foundation is suitable for a variety of skin types. Even oily skin could benefit from using this foundation, especially when paired with a pore-smoothing or oil control primer. The foundation wears well throughout the day and does not feel heavy on the skin.
Longevity and Wear Test
I was pleasantly surprised by how well this foundation held up throughout the day. Despite engaging in various activities, the foundation did not patch or lift, which is often a concern with other foundations. Even without using a setting spray, the foundation wore well on my skin, which is a testament to its longevity.

The only difference I’m noticing really is the fact that I look a little bit more glowy on the side that I used the sponge, but I also used double the product. So it’s really up to you, I feel like I got the same coverage on both sides, but again I just used less with the brush. I prefer the way it looks with the sponge, but honestly either application.
I was impressed with the Fenty Beauty Soft’LIT Luminous Foundation. It provided a nice, natural-looking coverage that was easy to build up, and it didn’t have any overpowering fragrance. I’m looking forward to seeing how it holds up throughout the day and will definitely continue to test it out with different makeup products. Overall, my first impression of the foundation is positive, and I would recommend giving it a try.
So I went ahead and wiped away pretty much every little speck that I could, but again my thoughts havent changed. I just feel like this looks pretty good, especially for what Ive been doing. I dont again feel like this is crazy, dewy or overly luminous.
Comparison and Oil Control
As I said so for me, as a combo skin person, its a nice twist on the Luminous Foundation Trend, something that gives me that healthy look but its not making me look greasy and its not uncomfortable. I really feel honestly like this is a typical matte foundation.
Final Assessment
I also am not seeing much difference in the sides, except for maybe a little bit more oil control on the side, with the glowish primer little bit smoother little more texture, a little more oils coming through on this side, really not surprised, thats.
Overall, my first impression of the Fenty Beauty Soft’LIT Luminous Foundation is positive. I look forward to experimenting with different primers, setting sprays, and cream products to further enhance its performance. This foundation has exceeded my expectations and I am excited to continue testing it out in different ways.
