Prepping the Skin
For today’s look, I’m going to lean into the summertime season and create something super dewy and fresh on our beautiful model, Courtney. Without further ado, let’s jump right into it.
Starting off with the Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm, I use this to prep our model’s skin. This cleansing balm is a staple in my makeup routine. While it’s typically used to remove makeup, I love using it before applying any makeup because it breaks down dirt and oils on the face, transforming into a cleansing milk when water is added. This gentle process cleanses the skin without stripping it of its natural oils, leaving it hydrated and ready for makeup application.
Moisturizing the Skin
After cleansing, I moisturize the skin with the Pro-Collagen Marine Cream SPF 30 from Elemis. I recently started using this product after seeing it go viral on TikTok. It’s a great addition to my routine as it provides hydration and sun protection, making it essential for a fresh and dewy summer makeup look.
Creating the Dewy Look
For a dewy finish, I recommend using a lightweight foundation or tinted moisturizer to even out the skin tone without looking heavy. Opt for cream or liquid blush and highlighter to add a natural glow to the cheeks and high points of the face. Set the makeup with a dewy setting spray to lock in the fresh and radiant look throughout the day.
Finishing Touches
To complete the look, add a touch of lip gloss for a shiny finish and a pop of color. Keep the eyes simple with a coat of mascara and a light eyeshadow to enhance the natural beauty of the eyes. With these final touches, you’ll have a fresh and dewy summer makeup look that’s perfect for any occasion.
Foundation Application
Today, I’m using the Makeup Forever HD Skin Hydroglow Foundation in the shade 1N14. I am first applying this with a foundation brush and will later blend it in with a sponge. It’s important to apply the foundation to the perimeter of the face first before blending it towards the center. The goal is to achieve a dewy skin-like finish with medium coverage that feels lightweight, perfect for a summertime look.
Concealer and Highlighting
Next, I am using the Haus Labs Tricklione Skin Tech Concealer to brighten and conceal around the eyes, nostrils, forehead, down the center of the nose, and chin. This optional step adds a subtle highlight to the face and enhances the overall look. By using the same sponge to blend and press the products in, we can achieve a seamless finish.
Bronzer Application
To add warmth to the skin, I am using the SE Sun Melt Cream Bronzer. I lightly press this bronzer around the perimeter of the face with a fluffy brush before blending it in with a sponge. This step helps to create a natural, sun-kissed glow that complements the dewy finish of the foundation.
Hydrating Products for a Fresh Summer Look
You know beneath the cheekbones and jawline will give us some warmth, but it’ll also add in some definition now up to this point, you’ll notice, I’m using a lot of hydrating products, the Skin Care, the The Dewy Foundation, the cream, bronzer and soon to be Cream. Blush because they translate so well in the summer sunlight and they truly give that second skin finish, that you know that powders can’t quite replicate as well as creams.
Using Powder for a Dewy Finish
Although don’t get me wrong, I will use a powder in a second but first let’s finish: blending this Music Music in all righty. So now we can use a little powder I’m going to be using this juon she loose setting powder, but first I want to make sure I blend out any concealer that could have creased up beneath the eyes and then I can lightly press this powder in with A fluffy brush. So if your goal is truly to get a dewy glowy finish, you want to be light handed with the powder not to say you shouldn’t use it, but it’s all about the powder you choose to use and where you choose to use it, where I like to place.
Strategic Placement of Powder
It is beneath the eyes where we had. You know, applied concealer and then a little here and there around the mouth and center of the forehead. But where I’m not placing it is where I want to keep that shine, such as around the highest points of her cheekbones above the brows and down the center of the Music nose for blush.
Blush Application
Today, I’m using this Patrick T cream and powder blush duo in the shade “She’s a Doll.” I’m picking up the cream formula with a sponge and tapping it onto the apples of the cheeks, lifting it upwards to drape the sides of the cheekbones. The vibrant pink color is perfect for summertime – youthful, bright, and glowy thanks to the cream formula working harmoniously with other complexion products.
Brows
Moving right along to the brows, I’m using the House Labs Edge Precision Eye pencil in the shade “Ash Brown.” Lightly dusting this through the brows, I’ll focus on extending the tail as per Courtney’s preference. Keeping the rest of the brow simple and clean, I’ll be light-handed with the pencil and use the spoolie end to brush the product through and set the brows in place.
Brow Gel Application
Using the Patrick T Major Brow Lamination gel, I glide it through the brow hairs. While this product has received mixed reviews due to potential white flaking, I’ve found that working quickly is key. Similar to nail polish, as it dries, it may flake if brushed through excessively. Therefore, it’s best to apply and let it set without disturbance to avoid any issues.
Prepping the Eyes
To start on the eyes, use a It Cosmetics eyeshadow stick in the shade bare and brave. Apply it along the complete upper lid from the lash line to the crease. Then, diffuse out the edges with a clean eyeshadow brush. The waterproof formula of this stick makes it perfect for the summertime. The matte rose shade is light and airy, ideal for a subtle eyeshadow look.
Adding Dimension
For added depth, use the Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk eyeshadow palette. Start with the matte eyeshadow in the top right-hand corner of the palette to set the shadow stick in place. Then, intensify it by smoking and diffusing it outwards. Remember, it’s a smokey eye, so precision isn’t necessary.
Creating a Smokey Eye
Next, use the shade in the bottom right-hand corner of the palette on the outer half of the lid to add dimension. Apply a little along the lower lash line as well. This subtle addition will enhance the overall look and bring out your eyes.
Easy Eyeshadow Application
But as you can see its a very similar color to the first one, we used just a tad bit darker but thats. What makes these eyeshadow quads so easy to use all of the Shadows, kind of complement each other. Taking a lot of the guess. Work out of it for us and you can make it your own too, of course, maybe you dont want to smoke out the lower lash line or or use all four Shadows, but for the purpose of this tutorial Ill show you a little bit of everything so Taking the next shade in the bottom, leftand corner Im pressing this right in a center of the lid before blending it out.
Glam Up Your Look
If you want to Glam up your look, this is the way to do it, because I mean who doesnt love a little Sparkle and its? Not too overboard and Sparkle, either, which is kind of nice, because I really dont want the eyeshadow to overpower the complexion here. For this, summertime look its all about The Dewy skin, with a wash of color on the lids paired with a Glam lip color. So, as you saw there, I took the last shade in the palette and using this to highlight the inner Corner, which I think really elevates. The eye.
Mascara and Eyeliner
Look for m mascara today, Im using the YSL lash Clash, mascara and running this through her upper lashes Im going to keep the bottom lashes bare as I I think it looks cleaner as is, but just one coat of this adds the perfect amount of drama to Her upper lashes without looking too dramatic, you know what I mean, and this formula is waterproof, so its great for those warm summer days now, Im just running a lash separator through the lashes to remove excess mascara and then taking this tar Double Take awake brightening eye Pencil and running this through her waterline, we were both holding our breath for this because applying eyeliner in the water line isnt the most comfortable for anyone, especially if the makeup artist has super shaky hands like me, but we got through it and thats all that matters.
Fenty Beauty Highlighter Application
Next up using this Fenty Beauty demiglow highlighter in the shade prco. I’m popping this right onto the highest points of her face, such as the cheekbones down the center of the nose, Cupid’s bow, and chin. This is a new launch for Fenty Beauty, and I think they did a phenomenal job with this. The shimmer foil gives a beautiful skin-like glow that is perfect for the summer.
Makeup Forever Lip Pencil
To begin on the lips, I’m using this Makeup Forever lip pencil in the shade “anywhere caffeine” to trace her lips before applying lipstick. Today’s lip color was a bit of a wild card for me, as I had initially planned on a natural, sheer pinky nude lip. However, I decided to go for a slightly moodier glam lip color to complement the simple eye makeup.
Ombre Lip Effect with E.L. Cosmetics Lipstick
For the lip color, I’m using a slightly darker nude lip liner to trace and fill in the outer corners. Then, I’ll take this deep red lipstick from E.L. Cosmetics in the shade “no regrets” and lightly buff it into the center of the lip with an eyeshadow brush to create an ombre lip stain effect. It’s a fun way to play with a more vibrant color that you wouldn’t typically wear.
Prep and Prime
Start off by prepping your skin with a hydrating primer to create a smooth canvas for your makeup. This will help keep your skin looking fresh and dewy throughout the day.
Glowing Complexion
Next, apply a light coverage foundation or tinted moisturizer to even out your skin tone. Opt for a formula with a luminous finish to achieve that coveted dewy look.
Bronze and Blush
Add a touch of bronzer to warm up your complexion and give your skin a healthy glow. Follow up with a peachy or pink blush applied to the apples of your cheeks for a natural flush.
Shimmering Eyes
For the eyes, keep it simple with a wash of shimmery neutral eyeshadow across the lids. Add a pop of brightness to the inner corners with a light gold or champagne shade for an extra glow.
Luscious Lips
To complete the look, play up your lips with a glossy ombre effect. Mix your nude lip liner with a bold red lipstick and top it off with a high-shine lip gloss for that juicy sheen.
Set and Lock
Once your makeup is complete, spritz on a setting spray to ensure that your fresh and dewy summer look stays in place all day long. This final step will help your makeup last through any summer festivities you have planned.
