Introduction
If I look at my year through of skincare products, probably the single product I repurchased the most. So that says a lot anyway. These are my favorites uh.
Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion
When I first started my skincare journey, the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion was my go-to. It came in a yellow bottle, and I still have a few bottles stashed away for occasional use. This moisturizer was affordable and fragrance-free, which was a big plus. However, I have to admit that it wasn’t the best match for my skin type. It always left my skin feeling greasy and shiny. Despite that, it was my first step into skincare, and it served its purpose by introducing me to the world of moisturizers.
Pharmacy Sleep Tight Balm
As I delved deeper into skincare, I discovered the Pharmacy Sleep Tight Balm, which quickly became one of my favorite night creams. Unfortunately, it has since been discontinued, so I don’t have a jar of it on hand. This balm had a unique gel-oil consistency, which felt luxurious on the skin. It was the perfect product to treat my skin while I slept, and I truly enjoyed using it.
CeraVe Moisturizing Cream
One moisturizer that has consistently been a staple in my routine for the past few years is the CeraVe Moisturizing Cream. This cream comes in a tub and is incredibly hydrating, perfect for my dry skin. It has a thick, creamy texture that nourishes and soothes my skin, leaving it feeling soft and supple. I appreciate that it is fragrance-free and doesn’t cause any irritation. The CeraVe Moisturizing Cream has definitely earned its place as a holy grail product in my skincare collection.
La Mer Crme de la Mer
When I feel like indulging in a luxurious treat for my skin, I turn to the La Mer Crme de la Mer. This cream is widely regarded as one of the most luxurious and expensive moisturizers on the market. It is rich and decadent, with a thick consistency that instantly hydrates and plumps my skin. Although it comes with a hefty price tag, a little goes a long way, making it worth the investment. The La Mer Crme de la Mer truly lives up to its reputation as a holy grail moisturizer.
The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA
For a budget-friendly option that still delivers great results, I always reach for The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA. This moisturizer has a lightweight formula that absorbs quickly into my skin, leaving it hydrated and nourished. It contains hyaluronic acid, which helps to retain moisture and keep my skin plump and youthful-looking. The Ordinary’s commitment to affordable skincare without compromising on quality makes this moisturizer a winner in my book.
Glossier Priming Moisturizer Rich
When I need a moisturizer that doubles as a primer for my makeup, the Glossier Priming Moisturizer Rich is my top choice. This moisturizer has a thick, creamy texture that provides an excellent base for makeup application. It deeply moisturizes my skin, creating a smooth canvas for foundation and ensuring that my makeup stays in place throughout the day. The Glossier Priming Moisturizer Rich is a versatile
The Pharmacy Sleep Tip Balm
The Pharmacy Sleep Tip Balm was one of the first non-mainstream brands that I tried, and it proved to be a great addition to my skincare routine. While it didn’t soak in completely, it had some impressive ingredients that helped nourish my skin. It became a winter essential for me, providing much-needed hydration during the colder months.
Polish Choice Alter Rich Clinical Moisturizer
The Polish Choice Alter Rich Clinical Moisturizer is still a staple in my collection. I have repurchased it multiple times, and its effectiveness has never disappointed me. Its fragrance-free formula makes it suitable for sensitive skin, and it continues to come in a sleek purple packaging. Despite the brand’s increase in prices, they still offer a commendable range of products.
Dr. Jart Scaar Cream
When I discovered the Dr. Jart Scaar Cream, I was instantly captivated by its richness. This cream is incredibly thick, and it leaves a lasting impression on the skin. While it does contain fragrance, the unique blend of bergamot and herbal oils adds a delightful aroma to the experience. It became a favorite of mine for its luxurious feel and the extra nourishment it provides.
Clinique Moisture Surge
Clinique Moisture Surge is a classic that has stood the test of time. Despite the multitude of new products flooding the market, this moisturizer remains a go-to for many, including myself. Its lightweight gel formula works wonders in hydrating the skin without leaving a greasy residue. It is perfect for those with oily or combination skin, offering that much-needed boost of moisture.
Laneige Water Sleeping Mask
The Laneige Water Sleeping Mask has emerged as a cult favorite over the years, and it’s not hard to see why. As the name suggests, this product provides intense hydration while you sleep, leaving you waking up to plump and radiant skin. Its gel-like texture feels refreshing upon application and is a treat for the senses. It has become a holy grail for many skincare enthusiasts, and I am no exception.
A Decade Worth of Holy Grail Moisturizers & Face Creams – My Favorites Over the Past 10 Years
The Thick Texture: A Game-Changer for Dry Skin
I didn’t find the scent to be overwhelming, but I really like the thick texture of this moisturizer. My skin was super dry, and I think it was probably because I didn’t do much to take care of it. I didn’t use serums or anything like that. This moisturizer was thick enough to do the trick for a long time. It was a great all-in-one product. However, it had a lot of fragrance in it, so I eventually moved away from it.
The Classic: Clinique Moisture Surge
Next up is the Clinique Moisture Surge. Who hasn’t gone through a phase of liking this stuff? It has a really nice liquidy gel texture that soaks into the skin really nicely. I wish it were cruelty-free because I would probably still use more Clinique products if it were. Unfortunately, that’s not the case, but this moisturizer is still really nice. I think I used it during the summertime because it may not be enough for dry skin during a harsh winter. But during fall, spring, and summer, it felt really nice and elegant on the skin.
A Powerhouse: Derma e Advanced Peptides and Collagen Moisturizer
Another favorite of mine is the Derma e Advanced Peptides and Collagen moisturizer. I still have a jar of it. This moisturizer is amazing. It has advanced peptides and collagen that work wonders on the skin. It deeply nourishes and hydrates the skin, leaving it feeling plump and youthful. The formula is lightweight and absorbs quickly, making it perfect for daily use. I have seen a noticeable improvement in the texture and appearance of my skin since using this moisturizer.
The Discontinued Favorite
This one expired in July of 2021, but luckily I still have it. It’s unfortunate that they don’t make this product anymore. Regardless, I think it’s time to go through my beauty bin and see what other treasures I can find.
An Unpleasant Surprise
I really like this moisturizer, but there’s one thing that bothered me about it. They seemed to have included a fragrance in the formula, even though it wasn’t listed in the ingredients. It turns out that it was a printing mistake, something they admitted later on. That definitely made me skeptical of the brand, as it’s important for sensitive skin products to be accurately labeled. I’m not sure if they’re a big enough brand to afford recalling all the products, but it’s definitely a letdown.
Exploring Alternatives
Since the incident with the misleading fragrance, I haven’t had the chance to try many other products from this brand. However, I’ve heard good things about their other offerings and they are quite affordable, so it might be worth giving them another chance.
The Trustworthy Option
Now let’s move on to another favorite, the cave PM moisturizing facial lotion. This one has been a go-to for me, providing the much-needed hydration my skin craves. It’s a reliable choice that doesn’t disappoint.
A Decade Worth of Holy Grail Moisturizers & Face Creams – My Favorites Over the Past 10 Years
A Nice, Simple Moisturizer with Limitations
This moisturizer is a straightforward option for those who don’t require extensive anti-aging or brightening benefits. Its ingredient list is minimal, consisting mainly of ceramides. However, if you are aging and need more assistance with anti-aging, texture, and brightness, you may find this moisturizer to be too basic. It would be advisable to complement it with another product. Additionally, it’s worth noting that this moisturizer is not cruelty-free, and it tends to be hit or miss with people. While some have great success with it, many others report issues such as allergies. Personally, it served its purpose for a while, although not for an extended period.
First Aid: Beauty, Alter Repair Cream – A Eucalyptus Surprise
Next, I turned to the First Aid: Beauty, Alter Repair Cream. This product, unfortunately, contains either eucalyptus oil or eucalyptus extract. In the case of this particular cream, it includes eucalyptus extract, which is quite noticeable. Interestingly, I had mistakenly assumed that it contained the oil when I used it on my hands this morning. Despite its claim to be sensitive skin-friendly, the presence of the extract may make it less suitable for individuals with sensitive skin. However, this cream is affordable and many people have found it to work well for them. Additionally, it comes in a generous-sized jar, providing ample product for regular use.

Sunday Riley Water Cream
So there you go, next up, I dont have it handy, but it was the Sunday Riley title water cream and something changed with it. In the last jar I got it, it was like milk we growing and Im interested in what is going on with this brand. They havent really released anything in a long long long time. I have no idea, they havent really released anything new in a long time, so they still are getting products stocked and things like that, but they havent really done anything Innovative in a while. I guess their last Innovative thing was that sunscreen it was terrible so anyway, so the Sunday R title water cream yeah. It was okay, okay!
Cerx Snail Ming Cream
Next up, this is one I still use pretty much every night, the cerx snail Ming cream. I love this stuff. This has to be on my list because it’s amazing, but it’s not one I’ve moved on from. A lot of these I’ll still use from time to time, but this one I still use pretty much every night, so it’s still amazing, I still love it.
Drunk Elephant La La Retro Whipped Cream
Okay, next up is the drunk elephant, la la retro, whipped cream. So this stuff was really nice. However, I kind of moved on to the Acure radically rejuvena whipped night cream, which is a nice product with a texture like the la la cream. The ingredients are similar to the drunk elephant, protei uh, this stuff is pretty expensive and I found after a while, it’s a little too hydrating, but it’s still nice and works well for a lot of people.

The Holy Grail Moisturizers & Face Creams
Over the past decade, I have had the pleasure of trying numerous moisturizers and face creams. Some have come and gone, while others have stood the test of time. In this article, I will share with you my favorite products that have truly become holy grails in my skincare routine.
Drunk Elephant
I don’t need it anymore. I moved on kind of from Drunk Elephant as a whole because of how expensive they are, but overall, it’s still a good moisturizer. It still works well for a lot of people.
Stratus Skin – Lipid GL Gold
Next up, this is another one that I still use frequently. It’s now called Lipid GL Gold, but it used to be called Liquid Gold. I’m not exactly sure why they changed the name, but maybe it was for marketing purposes. Regardless, I still love this stuff. I use it three or four nights a week, especially on nights when I use retinoids. It really helps hydrate my skin and it’s amazing. The best part is that the bottle now comes in a gigantic 4 oz size that will last you forever, making it not only effective but also affordable.
Protein-Packed Moisturizer
During my skincare journey, I went through a big proteiny phase. This protein-packed moisturizer was a staple in my routine for quite some time. It is still a really good moisturizer, although it remains quite expensive. However, I’ve noticed that it has become fussy to work with. When I apply it over almost anything else, it ends up foaming for some unknown reason. It has become quite annoying to use, considering its price point. Maybe it has something to do with the proteins or peptides in the formula, or perhaps the pH of the other products I was using clashed with it.
Yam Root Vegan Milk Cream
The first moisturizer on my holy grail list is the Yam Root Vegan Milk Cream. I have repurchased this cream twice now, and it is particularly wonderful during the winter season. However, it is a bit thick for the summer months. Nonetheless, it still finds its place in my skincare routine from time to time. This cream is perfect for days when my skin isn’t overly dry or when the weather isn’t extremely cold or snowy. Its effectiveness during those weird winter days is undeniable. When the temperature drops, this cream will undoubtedly be my go-to daytime moisturizer.
Neoen High Exome Cream
Another moisturizer that has found its way into my favorites is the Neoen High Exome Cream. This cream has become my reliable daytime moisturizer. Unlike some others, it does not foam up when used over my vitamin C serum, which is a major plus. Additionally, it is quite affordable and contains beneficial ingredients and antioxidants like R and veratril cantella. I am absolutely in love with this cream and the wonders it does for my skin.
Claires Midnight Blue Calming Cream
Next on the list is Claires Midnight Blue Calming Cream. While I consider this more of a sleeping mask than a cream, its name includes the word “cream,” so I believe it deserves a mention. I have been using this product for years in my evening routine, usually in conjunction with the Cerx Snail Cream. It adds an incredible touch to my skincare routine and makes my skin feel amazing. Without this cream, my skincare routine just wouldn’t feel complete.
These three moisturizers have become my holy grail products over the past decade. They have proven their worth and have consistently provided excellent results for my skin. Whether it be the winter or summer season, these creams have found their place and have become irreplaceable parts of my skincare routine.
My Holy Grails
These are my holy Grails from the last decade and uh it’s kind of interesting to look back at you know what out of all of them. I think I think only one has been discontinued. I believe let me double check well, two of them, so the pharmacy sleep tight was discontinued and the Derma e peptides and collagen moisturizer, I don’t, think it’s been discontinued, but they changed it, so otherwise everything else is still for sale.
Supporting These Brands
So I guess my support of these Brands is keeping these products going so anyway interested to hear from you guys what you’ve used over the last 10 years. If you think of anything, interesting or controversial or whatever leave it, leave a comment.
