Natasha Denona HY-GLAM Powder Foundation
This powder foundation from Natasha Denona retails for $55 and is touted to be a highly flexible product that moves with your skin, mimicking its natural texture. The goal is to prevent any caking or flaking, resulting in a seamless and natural finish.
Shades and Application
The reviewer, Milana, has two shades – R2 and RN3. Before applying the powder foundation, she primes her skin with the brand’s Hydrating Primer Serum. This primer is said to provide skin energizing and hydrating benefits, as well as shine control and skin defense properties to help balance excess oil production.
Primer Application
Milana applies 3-5 drops of the primer serum, starting with one drop on the forehead and then two drops on the chin. She notes that the serum has a pleasant scent and feels refreshing and clean on the skin. Despite expecting a silicone-like texture, she finds the primer to be thicker and luxurious.
Natasha Denona HY-GLAM Powder Foundation Review
It has almost this like velvety, silky texture. This feels beautiful. My skin is very illuminated. I’m going to let this sink in and next we’re going to do concealer because, she says, use a creamy liquid concealer before your powder foundation.
Packaging
Packaging is beautiful, beautiful, it’s nice compact, you open it up. You have a mirror right here foundation and then another compact with the foundation sponge, but this Foundation sponge is so cushiony and so soft, it’s incredible. She does recommend to use this for the best application for the finish you’re supposed to get a poreless airbrushed finish.
Application
This is R2, take it to the puff. Oh, my goodness. What is this creamy texture? Oh she’s creamy, wow, yeah, that’s way too late. Oh hold up, we have a match. Rn3 looks like my shade. Okay, all right let’s just go for it. I’m going to build it up on the sponge. This formula, I have never played with anything like this before, it is so creamy, but a powder. Do we see how seamless this is going on my skin, it literally looks like I’m applying a filter on my face.
Application and Initial Impressions
Im going to quickly do concealer before I forget again and Im just mixing two shades Im mixing N4 and nr1 for my concealer. In my opinion, this is one of the best performing concealers on the market and when I heard or saw that she was coming out with a foundation, I thought it was going to be liquid, but when she said it was powder, I was even more intrigued because, Usually powder foundations, I dont like them on my skin. They look heavy, they look dry and oily at the same time, but when she was showing this foundation in action, Ive never seen anything like it.
Concealer and Foundation Application
Okay, Im going to bring up the foundation a little bit higher. Let me just do this side left side with concealer before I forget Im going to set the concealer using whatever is left on the puff from the right side and just going to tap gently and look how perfect this puff or this sponge fits into the inner Corner and under my eyes, shes thought of everything for this Foundation. I am just blown away, I can we see filter or what this is incredible. Look at that so smooth, so airbrushed, so poreless forehead time forehead looks good.
Texture and Coverage
It honestly just looks like Im taking a blurring powder, but it has coverage but Im not seeing the foundation. Hope that makes sense. Wow straight up looks like I have a filter on my face from the before to after.
Natasha Denona HY-GLAM Powder Foundation Overview
When it comes to the Natasha Denona HY-GLAM Powder Foundation, there are a few key points to consider before diving into the application process. One notable aspect is the absence of any explicit claims regarding longevity. Unlike some other foundations that boast about lasting for 8, 12, or even 24 hours, the focus here seems to be more on hydration and skincare benefits.
Coverage and Application
The foundation offers a medium buildable coverage, which allows for a natural look while still providing the desired level of coverage. This balance between coverage and natural appearance is appreciated, as a full coverage foundation might have felt too heavy. The ease of application and ability to build up the coverage without it appearing dry or heavy on the skin is certainly impressive.
Refillable Foundation Pan
One standout feature of this foundation is the fact that the pan is refillable. This not only promotes sustainability but also offers a cost-effective option for replenishing the product. The refill cost of $39 is significantly lower than the $55 price tag for the entire set, making it a more budget-friendly choice in the long run.
A Touch of Bronzer and Blush
Given the matte finish of the foundation, the addition of bronzer and blush can help bring dimension and color back to the complexion. The RMS Beauty red Dimension Hydra bronzer is a popular choice for achieving a natural sun-kissed look that complements the overall finish of the foundation.
Gel to Powder Formula
With its gel to powder formula, Natasha Denona HY-GLAM Powder Foundation provides a natural, airbrushed look on the skin. It offers a subtle glow without any glitter, making it perfect for achieving a radiant complexion.
Application and Performance
When applied on the face, the foundation blends seamlessly with other makeup products. It softens the appearance of lines and imperfections, creating a flawless base for further makeup application. The foundation’s sponge applicator helps achieve a smooth finish, ensuring a flawless look.
Longevity and Wear Test
The real test lies in how well the foundation wears throughout the day. Check-ins are crucial to assess its staying power and how it holds up on combination skin. Despite initial shine due to sweating, the foundation manages to keep the skin looking fresh without feeling oily or wet.
The Application Process
The light is bouncing off from the windows M yeah. I think we look great. Let me see if I can get better right in front of the windows. Okay, there we go wow, the skin still looks so good, and this is with the front-facing camera, y’all.
Impressions Throughout the Day
The forehead, like I said, looks shiny, but it doesn’t feel wet or oily at all. I am impressed with how good the skin is looking. This is what I was vacuuming, we’re getting ready to paint the doors and we’re using a sprayer and wanted to make sure the floors didn’t have any dust that’s going to pick up on the paint to the door. So let’s quickly do this. Andre is putting the tape all over where it needs to go.
Longevity of the Foundation
Because we’re going to unblock off the bathroom there ’cause we have the hardwood in there. This the hardwood is finished in there, so we don’t want to spray in there, and then the windows 5 hours in Im. Looking oily on the forehead, you can see right here in the T Zone around the nose, a little bit on my chin, the jaw, the cheeks, perfect. I’m going to touch up right now and I got the wrong shade. You know what, it’s fine; we’re just going to use the lighter shade. Before I touch up when you guys see the closeups, you can see pretty oily right there I mean it’s very glowy, and when I touch I can feel the oils.
First Impressions
With the first update when I was touching my skin, I did not feel oily. I did not feel slick or wet now I am feeling slick and wet. I mean yes, don’t, love that all right. I grabbed a little bit just going to yeah, see that’s too light, but we’re going to try to make it work.
Initial Application
That does not look good. Oh man, I didn’t grab a lot either W that’s too bright and it’s not layering good at all it’s like settling into the cracks. Do you see that it looks heavy?
Midday Touch-Up
I’m going to go take off the oil with the blotting sheets. I’ll be right back. Oh yeah, I’m trying to fix it now and it’s like rubbing off, see that right there. So if you have blotting sheets just take a blotting sheet and go over those areas where you need to blot the extra oil.
Longevity and Appearance
Let’s say from far away it’s really pretty. I’m still liking it. On the cheeks, on my jaw I would say it looks really good. On the nose honestly on the forehead, it looks good besides it being very oily, but going over with the blotting sheets, it’s helping but I’m kind of disappointed in the longevity. But again, I didn’t know what to expect just because there were no longevity claims.
Final Update
This is 10 plus hours and I’m going to end it here. I’m going to enter a little video that I did using the flash camera outside like this is a bigger light, but I just wanted to see if there was like flashback.
Initial Application and Appearance
After applying Natasha Denona’s HY-GLAM Powder Foundation, I noticed an immediate improvement in the appearance of my skin. The initial application left my skin with a stunning, airbrushed finish that was simply beautiful. I couldn’t help but keep staring at my flawless complexion.
Benefits and Versatility
Aside from its aesthetic appeal, the High Glam powder foundation boasts numerous benefits. It not only feels good on the skin, but it also provides valuable nourishment. Additionally, it can be used in various ways – whether as a setting powder for a more mattifying finish or to enhance coverage in certain areas.
Longevity and Shine Control
However, despite the initial allure of the foundation, I encountered some challenges with its longevity. The foundation did not hold up well throughout the day, especially in my T Zone area where oiliness became apparent. Despite a touch-up using blotting sheets, the shine remained a persistent issue. Furthermore, the primer provided with the foundation did not effectively control shine as claimed.
Matte Finish
If you’re really dry, you’re not going to like this because it’s very mattifying and blurring. The way it looks on my cheeks and jaw is non-greasy and long-lasting. It doesn’t feel heavy or rub off easily, which is a great plus.
Problematic T-Zone
However, the T-Zone area is where the foundation falls short. It tends to make oily skin look greasy and feels unpleasant. It’s a hot mess in that region, which can be off-putting for those with oilier skin types.
Multipurpose Use
For those with combination skin, using this foundation as a setting powder might be a better option. Just like how makeup forever matte velvet Foundation can be used as a setting powder and touch-up powder, this product can serve the same purpose.
Compatibility with Different Foundations
While the current shade may not be ideal for everyone, mixing and matching with other foundations can create a stunning overall look. The versatility of this powder foundation allows it to complement various cream or liquid foundations and tinted serums.
Overall, Milana is impressed with how the primer serum preps her skin for the powder foundation application. The combination of the two products provides a smooth base and helps control excess oil, creating a flawless and long-lasting finish. If you’re looking for a powder foundation that moves with your skin and delivers a natural look, the Natasha Denona HY-GLAM Powder Foundation may be worth considering.
I forgot concealer, I was just way too excited, but I’m not going too high up so that’s okay. I am blown away with how smooth, how airbrushed, how skinlike this Foundation look looks on my skin. It looks like I have a filter on my skin. I don’t, but I do with this Foundation. Andre please let’s zoom in as close as possible, because this is beautiful.
As someone who typically doesn’t favor powder foundations, the Natasha Denona HY-GLAM Powder Foundation has managed to impress with its performance and longevity. The subtle glow and airbrushed finish it provides make it a standout product in the world of makeup. Whether for everyday wear or special occasions, this foundation delivers on its promises.
Natasha Denona’s HY-GLAM Powder Foundation offers an exceptional initial application and aesthetic appeal. The foundation provides a flawless, airbrushed finish that is truly striking. However, it falls short in terms of longevity and shine control, leaving much to be desired in that aspect. Despite these drawbacks, the foundation’s versatility and skin-nourishing benefits make it a contender for those seeking a high-quality powder foundation.
Despite some drawbacks, Natasha Denona HY-GLAM Powder Foundation shows promise for those looking for a reliable setting powder. Experimenting with different shades and combinations can lead to a flawless and long-lasting finish. Thank you for watching!
