Step 1: Perfecting the Brows
To start off your makeup routine, you’ll need a concealer and a brow pencil. Use the brow pencil to fill in your brows and the concealer to clean around your brows. It’s recommended to choose a concealer that is a shade or two lighter than your foundation shade for versatility.
Step 2: Multi-Purpose Dark Brown Pencil
For the next step, grab a dark brown pencil that you can easily find at a Beauty Supply shop. This pencil can be used as an eyeliner, lip liner, or brow pencil. The Davis Cosmetics liner is a great option that can be used for various purposes on your face.
Step 3: Creating a Flawless Base
Now, let’s move on to creating a flawless base for your makeup look. To achieve this, you’ll need a good quality foundation that matches your skin tone. Make sure to blend the foundation well to avoid any harsh lines or uneven patches on your skin.
Step 4: Brightening with Concealer
Concealer is a must-have product for brightening up the under-eye area and covering any blemishes or dark spots on your face. Choose a concealer that is slightly lighter than your skin tone for a natural-looking finish. Blend it well using a makeup sponge or brush.
Step 5: Setting the Base with Powder
To set your foundation and concealer in place, you’ll need a translucent setting powder. This will help to mattify your skin and ensure that your makeup stays put throughout the day. Use a fluffy brush to apply the powder lightly all over your face.
Step 6: Adding Color with Blush
Add a touch of color to your cheeks with a blush that complements your skin tone. Opt for a blush shade that enhances your natural flush and gives your face a healthy glow. Smile and apply the blush to the apples of your cheeks for a flattering look.
Step 7: Enhancing the Eyes
For a simple yet effective eye makeup look, all you need is a neutral eyeshadow palette. Choose shades that are suitable for your skin tone and blend them well for a seamless finish. You can also add a coat of mascara to your lashes for added definition.
Step 8: Defining the Lips
Finish off your makeup look by defining your lips with a lip liner in a shade that complements your natural lip color. Fill in your lips with a lipstick that adds a pop of color and completes your overall look. You can also add a gloss for a shiny finish.
Step 9: Setting Everything in Place
To ensure that your makeup lasts all day, use a setting spray to lock everything in place. This will help to keep your makeup looking fresh and prevent it from smudging or fading throughout the day. Spritz the setting spray lightly over your face for a long-lasting finish.
Step 10: Final Touches
Once you’ve completed your makeup routine, take a moment to admire your flawless look.
Priming Your Skin
The next step is to prime your skin, so you need a primer, a good primer that works for your skin type. Personally, I really like this one from e.l.f. It is the e.l.f liquid polish party primer.
Finding the Perfect Foundation
The next thing you need is a good foundation. Again, you need a foundation that matches your skin tone and a foundation that works with your skin type. This is my personal favorite. This is from Estee Lauder. There are so many foundations that I like; this is just one of my favorites. You can either go to either Sephora or Ulta to get your foundation matched. I feel like that is the best way to get the perfect match. Otherwise, if you already have a foundation that works for your skin type, there’s a website called foundation.com. So what you do is to put the name and the brand and the shade of the foundation that works for your skin, and then it would suggest foundations from other brands that would work with your skin color. Sometimes it’s not very perfect, but that’s the closest thing I can find for my girls who can’t go to Sephora or Ulta.
Concealing Imperfections
Next step is concealer. You need a concealer that is a shade or two lighter than your foundation.
Setting Your Makeup
Next step is a setting powder to set the concealer in place.
Adding Definition with Bronzer
To get some shape and structure back in your face, you need a bronzer to apply onto the hollows of your cheekbones and the temple areas and the jawline. You know, to bring some shape back into the face. I’m going to go ahead and apply my bronzer. I’m using one from Charlotte Tilbury. I’m also going to use the same bronzer to contour my nose and use the bronzer as eyeshadow. And now for the rest of the face, I’m going to use a powder that is close to my skin tone to set everything else on my face.
Foundation
This is one from Fenty, so everywhere else, which is everywhere else. I didn’t use setting powder or bronzer, and you can just pass it over the harsh lines just to blur them out.
Setting Spray
The next product you need in your routine is a setting spray. This is my favorite setting spray and it’s from L. I’m going to use that to set my entire face.
Mascara
Any mascara would work. I really like this one from LOreal, the LOreal telescopic mascara. If you have false eyelashes, that’s great as well, but today I’m not applying any falsies.
Lip Liner
This lip liner, I use for my eyebrows and I used to tight line my eyes. Now I’m going to use that to line my lips.
Lip Gloss or Lipstick
The last step is your lip gloss or lipstick. Whatever you want to apply, today I feel like applying lip gloss, so I’m going to do that. This is the Fenty gloss balm heat in the shade chocolate.
