Deinfluencing: Highlighting What Doesn’t Work

The Sephora Vib Sale Haul

During the recent Sephora Vib sale, I couldn’t resist the temptation to splurge on some makeup and beauty products. However, upon using them, I realized that not everything is worth the hype or the price tag. In this article, I want to share with you my experience and highlight the items that I returned, hoping to save you from making the same mistakes.

The Disappointing Shark Flex Style

First and foremost, let’s talk about the highest-priced item in my haul, the shark Flex style. This product had so much potential, but it ultimately fell short. I meticulously reviewed and analyzed it, coming to the that it’s not a wise purchase. If you’re currently enjoying your shark Flex style, please hear me out as someone who has already bought and returned it.

Too Good to Be True: The Illusory Fountain of Youth Cream

Another product that didn’t live up to its claims was the Illusory Fountain of Youth Cream. The promises of youthful, radiant skin enticed me to give it a try, but alas, it failed to deliver. My honest review dissects the reasons behind its inability to deliver on its promises, making it not worth your hard-earned money.

Overhyped Eyeshadow Palette: A Colorless Disappointment

Eyeshadow palettes are all the rage in the beauty world, and I couldn’t resist purchasing one during the sale. Unfortunately, the hype surrounding this particular palette was completely unjustified. The colors lacked pigmentation and the blendability was subpar, leaving me with lackluster eye looks. Learn from my mistake and save your money for a better alternative.

Fragrance Fiasco: The Scent that Doesn’t Last

It’s no secret that finding the perfect fragrance is a personal and often costly journey. Regrettably, one of my purchases during the sale turned out to be a fragrance fiasco. The scent was pleasant at first, but it didn’t last. Within a few hours, it faded away completely. Don’t let disappointment be your signature scent, and invest in a perfume that will truly stand the test of time.

The Importance of Sharing Unfavorites

In the world of influencers and beauty gurus, it’s common to hear about their favorite products and recommendations. While this can be exciting, it’s equally important to acknowledge the products that don’t work as well. By sharing our unfavorites and experiences with disappointing purchases, we can help others make more informed decisions and save them from wasting their money.

Not all makeup and beauty products are worth the hype or the price tag. Although I couldn’t resist splurging during the Sephora Vib sale, I learned that it’s crucial to evaluate products critically and not get swept away by influencers’ recommendations. Remember to do your research, read reviews, and consider whether a product aligns with your needs and expectations before making a purchase.

Why You Should Always Wash Your Hair Attachments

It’s great that you’re interested in trying out new makeup and beauty products. However, there’s one important thing you need to keep in mind when using certain tools: always wash the actual attachments. This is especially crucial when it comes to hair brushes with faux bristle hairs.

When you use a brush to give yourself a blowout, there’s heat involved along with hair products. Many of us are guilty of not washing our hair brushes regularly, but when it comes to hot tools with brush attachments, the situation is different. These attachments have faux bristle brushes and when heat is applied, combined with the hair product, it can lead to damage over time. It might not be noticeable the first time you use it, but with long-term use, your hair will suffer.

The Problems with the Shark Flex Style

If you’re considering purchasing the Shark Flex Style, I urge you to watch a comprehensive review before making a decision. I personally had a very negative experience with this product and feel compelled to share my concerns with others.

The review I watched provided a lot of valuable information that you should know. It wasn’t boring at all and covered all the important points. It also compared the Shark Flex Style to the Dyson Air Wrap, which can help you make an informed choice.

Returning the Smoothing Attachment

Not only did I dislike the Shark Flex Style, but I also ended up returning the smoothing attachment that I purchased along with it. I didn’t even bother to open it because of how disappointed I was with the overall product.

It’s important to be aware of the potential drawbacks of certain makeup and beauty products. Not everything that receives hype in the industry is worth your money. By doing thorough research and considering reviews from trusted sources, you can avoid wasting your hard-earned cash on products that don’t live up to expectations.

Why You Should Think Twice Before Buying Expensive Hair Tools

There’s always excitement when a new hair tool hits the market, promising to revolutionize our styling routine and give us the salon-worthy locks we’ve always dreamed of. But is it really worth the hype?

Certainly, it’s tempting to believe the claims and invest in these high-end gadgets. After all, who wouldn’t want to achieve flawless hair effortlessly? However, it’s essential to look beyond the marketing tactics and evaluate the actual performance of these products.

One example of a hair tool that failed to live up to expectations is the attachment I recently purchased. I had high hopes for it, but it quickly became evident that it was not a good tool for my hair. The dissatisfaction was so profound that I didn’t even bother opening the attachment and promptly returned it.

The manufacturer of this attachment is also notorious for producing knockoff brands. This information is crucial because it highlights the lack of quality and authenticity associated with the product. Before making a significant purchase, such as a $300 hair tool, it’s essential to be aware of these details.

The Disappointing Experience with a Popular Fragrance

When it comes to luxury fragrances, certain brands always stand out, and Tom Ford is undoubtedly one of them. Having been a loyal customer, it was surprising to have a negative experience with one of their fragrances.

One fragrance that I returned was the Tom Ford Myrrh Myst Mystery. As an avid user of Tom Ford’s Tobacco Vanille for over 10 years, I expected nothing short of excellence. Unfortunately, the scent of the Myrrh Myst Mystery did not meet my expectations.

Not only did it smell different from bottle to bottle, but it also settled on my skin in a way that reminded me of a replica fragrance called Autumn Vibes. Now, I already owned Autumn Vibes, and it was never one of my favorites. In fact, I found it a bit astringent, similar to the experience with Tom Ford’s Myrrh fragrance.

The Importance of Considering Long-Term Usage

It’s essential to consider the long-term usage of a product before investing a significant amount of money. Sometimes, a product might initially seem appealing, but it loses its charm over time.

This was the case with Autumn Vibes. When I first started using it, I was thrilled with its ability to evoke the essence of autumn. It truly captured the spirit of the season. However, as time went on, I started noticing its astringent qualities, making it less enjoyable to wear.

The same disappointment carried over to Tom Ford’s Myrrh fragrance. Despite my initial excitement, I found myself experiencing the same astringency that I had encountered with Autumn Vibes.

Replicas Autumn Vibes vs. Tom Ford Fragrances: Worth the Hype?

When it comes to perfumes, there’s always a debate about whether high-end brands are worth the price. One fragrance that has been generating a lot of buzz is Replicas Autumn Vibes. Influencers and beauty enthusiasts everywhere have been raving about its lovely scent and affordable price. However, some argue that it pales in comparison to the luxurious Tom Ford fragrances. So, is it really worth the hype?

Having heard the positive reviews, I decided to give Replicas Autumn Vibes a try. I must say, it does smell exactly like Tom Ford fragrances. However, there was one major difference that I couldn’t ignore the lasting power. While Tom Ford fragrances have an incredible longevity, allowing you to catch whiffs of the scent throughout the day, Replicas Autumn Vibes falls short in this aspect. It’s like waking up and still smelling the essence of Tom Ford, while Replicas Autumn Vibes fades away quickly.

Another point worth mentioning is that Tom Ford fragrances seem to linger more on clothes. Although Replicas Autumn Vibes has a similar scent, it doesn’t have the same staying power. One spritz of Tom Ford could last you two days, whereas you’d need two spritzes of Replicas Autumn Vibes to achieve the same effect. Considering that both are high-priced fragrances, this difference becomes significant.

Hourglass Ambient Blush in “At Night”: A Disappointing Purchase

The next product that I returned was Hourglass’ Ambient Blush in the shade “At Night.” Now, let me clarify that it’s not because it was a bad product. The issue I had with it was that it settled to a pink shade on my skin, which wasn’t what I had expected.

Prior to the sale, I had purchased The Hourglass Jellyfish Palette and was thoroughly impressed by its quality. Naturally, I wanted to try out their powders and blushes. However, my experience with the Ambient Blush in “At Night” left me a little underwhelmed. I thought it would be a beautiful brick red, perfect for my fair complexion. Unfortunately, it turned out to be more pink-toned.

Of course, this is a personal preference, and the blush may work perfectly for someone else. But considering that Hourglass is a high-end brand with a price tag to match, I wanted to make sure I was getting exactly what I wanted. In this case, I decided to return the product.

Not every beauty product lives up to the hype or suits our individual needs. While Replicas Autumn Vibes may smell similar to Tom Ford fragrances, it falls short in terms of lasting power. Similarly, the Hourglass Ambient Blush in “At Night” didn’t deliver the desired shade on my skin. Ultimately, it’s important to make informed decisions about our beauty purchases and invest in products that truly meet our expectations.

Why Some Makeup and Beauty Products Are Not Worth Your Money

The Influence of Deinfluencers

Thank you. If you decide to shop through my links, it helps support this Channel and uh all that stuff. All that good stuff, so thank you. I appreciate it but yeah it’ll all be linked below, but at night, because I am more yellow undertoned settled pink on me and I will link my Sephora sale haul video below as well.

So you can see that in action, because I did try everything on. I dont like to just haul things I like to show you what they look like and show you how they perform so through the entire Sephora haul. I show you the products in action and at night just settled to Pink on me, and I was so sad and a lot of you were like. Oh my gosh, its totally brick red on me.

If you have pink undertones and you’re looking for a brick red blush girl, at night would definitely be beautiful on you.

House Labs Triclone Foundation

Next is something that I actually don’t know where it’s at currently I haven’t returned it yet because I have to drive to Little Rock, which is a little bit over an hour to return cuz. I purchased this during the sale at the tail end of the sale and it was the House Labs, triclone Foundation to do a review, so my review is already up, so I will let you guys go watch that in the info below.

I’m not going to get too boring, but it just looked really bad on me, really bad on me.

Choosing Worthwhile Products

When it comes to makeup and beauty products, not everything that’s hyped up is worth your money. It’s important to be critical and do your research before making a purchase.

Listening to influencers and watching their haul videos can be fun and informative, but it’s crucial to remember that their experiences and preferences may not align with yours. Don’t let the hype lead you to buy products that don’t suit your skin tone or type.

In the case of the Sephora sale haul mentioned earlier, the products may have looked great on the influencer, but didn’t translate well on her own skin. The undertones of a product can vary and what works for one person may not work for another.

Brick red blush, for example, may look stunning on someone with pink undertones, but could be less flattering on those with yellow undertones. It’s important to consider your own undertones and preferences when choosing products.

Another example mentioned was the House Labs triclone Foundation. Despite the hype surrounding this product, the reviewer found it to be disappointing and unflattering on her own skin. This serves as a reminder that not all popular products are guaranteed to work for everyone.

House Labs Triclone Foundation: Not Worth the Hype

I don’t know what the heck, but a lot of you were like, “If you have dry skin, you are going to love the House Labs Triclone Foundation.” I don’t know if maybe my skin is just so extra dry right now from Iman or immune suppressants – you know, the load of chemo that I’ve started. But my skin is already dry, and that foundation did absolutely nothing for me with a brush or a sponge.

I could not get it to work; it just aged me. It gathered around all of my dry patches. I just couldn’t get it to work for me, so I have to drive to Little Rock to return that. It’s disappointing when a highly anticipated product like the House Labs Triclone Foundation fails to live up to the hype.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Sun Idol Highlighter: Money Wasted

The next item that I ended up returning, not because it wasn’t a good shade for me, but because it just wasn’t a good product, is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Sun Idol Highlighter. I purchased that during the sale because I wanted the Tom Ford Soay Nish, the limited edition one. However, a lot of you talked me out of it. You were like, “Girl, don’t get that; it is so stiff. It does not look good.”

So I went for the cheaper option, which is still not cheap. It was $38, the Anastasia Beverly Hills Highlighter. But it almost enhanced my pores and looked like a satin finish. It gave me absolutely nothing. I don’t understand why I did not like it, and then I read the comments, and a lot of you also got it and also returned it. Clearly, the Anastasia Beverly Hills Sun Idol Highlighter is not worth the money.

Being Mindful of Influencer Recommendations

It’s crucial to be cautious when trusting influencer recommendations. Sometimes, products that receive rave reviews from influencers may not work for everyone. Our skin types, preferences, and expectations can differ greatly. What may be a holy grail product for one person might be a total disappointment for another.

Instead of mindlessly following every influencer suggestion, it’s essential to do our own research, read multiple reviews from a variety of sources, and consider our personal needs before investing our hard-earned money in beauty products. After all, not everything that’s hyped up in the influencer world is worth the hype in reality.

Seek Authentic Opinions

It’s easy to get caught up in the excitement of new product launches and influencer endorsements. However, relying solely on influencers can lead to financial regrets and beauty product disappointments. It’s important to seek out authentic opinions from real consumers who have tried the products themselves.

Reading comments and reviews from people who have had similar experiences can provide valuable insight and help us make informed decisions. Don’t be swayed solely by someone’s popularity or the hype surrounding a product. Your skin and your preferences matter, so take the time to gather diverse opinions before making a purchase.

Know Your Skin and Preferences

Understanding your skin type, concerns, and preferences is crucial when shopping for makeup and beauty products. What works exceptionally well for someone else might not deliver the same

Disappointing Highlighter: Not Worth the Hype

I don’t like it, but let me know if you tried it and you did like it. I was really hoping that it would be like a good version close to our beloved am resi highlighter, and it just wasn’t. It gave me nothing, if anything, I feel like it made my skin look dull. So, she went back and it is $38 that I am happy to have back in my bank account.

A Failed Attempt: Dior Backstage Palette in Glitz

The next thing that just was a big fail was the Dior backstage palette in Glitz. Now here’s the thing, I had a lot of comments that were like, “well duh, Glitz is like the bad one and then the other one, I don’t remember the name of it, the other one, the pinky one, is beautiful and that’s why everyone loves it.” But I’m so yellow undertoned, I really needed to get something with the undertones of Glitz, so I was hoping that it would be the same formula and beautiful.

I understand that it had a more visible shimmer in it than the original face palette, but I’m fine with that visible shimmer. As long as it looks decent and makes sense for the makeup itself and the product itself, I’m all about it. But this was just like something I would expect from Wet n Wild. I was like, “This is kind of dry.” I liked the bronzer a little bit.

The Undertone Issue

The undertones would have been perfect if the palette actually performed well. I don’t want the other face palette because it’s just too pinky for me and pinks like that, like a face palette like that, can turn ashy on yellow undertone skin, so I’m staying away. I wish I could, you know, enjoy the original face palette, but I cannot because of the undertones – and I don’t know why they didn’t make the other palette in Glitz, just as beautiful. I don’t understand, please give us yellow undertone skin girls a face palette Dior, because we want it, okay.

The Disappointing Purchase

This is not something that I purchased from the sale, but I will link my review below. I returned mid-review. If you guys saw this review, I returned this product mid-review. It is the rim, Beauty, foundation and concealer and the foundation brush. They were so terrible. All three items were just like. I don’t know, it’s. It was like. I got some off-brand makeup from Big Lots and put it on my face. It just looked like, almost like, stage makeup, where it’s like it doesn’t need to make you look blurred and beautiful. It needs to be like caked on, you know, for lights, and things like play stage makeup anyway. It aged my skin, not hopefully didn’t like technically age, my skin, but it aged me a good 10 years, and if you guys saw that review, you know what I’m talking about. It looked so bad, especially in natural lighting because every Foundation.

The Quest for the Right Products

As a beauty enthusiast, I am constantly on the lookout for makeup and beauty products that live up to the hype. With new releases flooding the market every day, it can be overwhelming to decide which products are worth investing in. However, through my personal experiences, I have come to realize that not every hyped-up product is a must-have.

The Undertone Dilemma

One of the major disappointments I encountered was the issue with undertones. When a palette appears to have the perfect shades, it is disheartening to find that its performance falls short. For instance, I came across a face palette that seemed promising, but it turned out to be dominated by pink shades, making it unsuitable for those with yellow undertone skin. The result was an ashy and unflattering finish, leaving me unable to enjoy the original palette’s beauty. It’s perplexing why the brand did not cater to different undertones, depriving yellow undertone individuals of a suitable face palette.

The Return of Regret

I recently had a disappointing experience with a brand that came highly recommended. I decided to give it a try and purchased the foundation, concealer, and foundation brush. Unfortunately, all three items turned out to be subpar. It felt as if I had applied off-brand makeup from a discount store. The finish resembled heavy stage makeup, meant for theatrical purposes, rather than a natural and flawless look. Not only did it fail to blur imperfections, but it also aged my skin significantly, making me look ten years older. The disappointment was so severe that I returned the products while in the midst of writing a

Studio Lighting vs Natural Lighting

Review that I do. I take you out natural lighting out of Studio lighting, so you can see what it looks like in real life, because no one carries around one, two, three, four, five, six studio lights with them in their everyday life. You’re just not going to look this evenly lit! You know in real life, you’re going to have shadows and oh, it was so bad.

The Disappointing Concealer

The concealer was like putting wet concrete underneath my lash line and my dark circles. It ended up being a messy disaster, completely different from what I was expecting. The texture and application were just awful.

The Letdown Foundation Brush

Moving on to the foundation brush, it was a complete disappointment. For a brush that costs 150, I expected much better quality. Unfortunately, it fell short and did not deliver the desired results. The bristles were harsh on the skin, and the application was uneven and streaky. It just didn’t work as it should have.

A Brand Not Worth the Hype

RM Beauty claims to be suitable for all skin types, but based on my experience, it seems to be more suitable for oily skin. Unfortunately, I did not enjoy anything from the brand. The products looked cheap and felt dusty to me. It’s a shame when a brand fails to live up to its claims and expectations.

Importance of Sharing Honest Opinions

It’s essential to discuss both the positives and negatives of products. By sharing our experiences and what didn’t work for us, we can guide others in making informed choices. If a product didn’t work for me, I won’t recommend it to others because I don’t want others to experience the same disappointment and frustration. Honesty is key in the world of makeup and beauty.

Terrible and Ineffective Products

Oh no. This is what I do – I’m going to let you know if something is terrible, and all of these items were either didn’t work for me or were terrible.

Let us know in the comments if you’ve tried any of them, what you liked that maybe I hated, and tell us why. When it comes to makeup and beauty products, it’s important to be discerning and not get swayed by the hype. As consumers, we should carefully evaluate the claims made by influencers and consider the experiences of others before making a purchase.

In the case of expensive hair tools, it’s crucial to be aware of the manufacturer’s reputation and the potential presence of knockoff brands. For luxury fragrances

Makeup and beauty products can be expensive, and it’s understandable to want products that are worth the investment. By de-influencing yourself and being critical of the hype, you can make more informed purchasing decisions and ensure that you’re investing in products that truly suit you and your preferences.

Based on my experience with both the highlighter and the palette, I can confidently say that they are not worth the hype. While I acknowledge that personal preferences and skin tones play a role in these assessments, these products did not live up to their expectations.

If you’re considering purchasing these products, I would highly recommend trying them out in-store or getting samples first to see if they work for you. It’s always better to be sure before investing your hard-earned money in makeup and beauty products that may not deliver the desired results.

It’s important to consider the reality of using makeup and beauty products in everyday life. Studio lighting can create a misleading illusion, and products may not perform as expected. The RM Beauty foundation and concealer, in particular, fell short of expectations and left a lot to be desired. Sharing honest opinions and experiences can help others make informed decisions and avoid wasting money on products that aren’t worth the hype.
