We Need to Talk About e.l.f. (& try their new makeup)

Table of Contents

The Rise of e.l.f.

Amidst the vast sea of beauty products, one brand has been making waves recently – e.l.f. Known for their high quality products at affordable prices, e.l.f. has now taken a new direction by delving into the world of dupes. The rise of e.l.f. as a brand that imitates viral high-end products has left many beauty enthusiasts curious and intrigued.

A Closer Look at the Dupes

E.l.f. has been at the forefront of creating dupes that mimic highly sought-after products from luxury brands. They started with their e.l.f. putty primer, which was claimed to be a dupe for the famous Tatcha putty primer. This product garnered much attention and praise from beauty gurus everywhere, solidifying e.l.f.’s reputation as a brand that delivers quality dupes.

Expanding the Range of Dupes

Building on the success of their putty primer, e.l.f. expanded their lineup to include the liquid poreless putty primer. This product aims to replicate the effects of the liquid primer from Tatcha. The Halo glow line is yet another addition to their dupe collection, drawing inspiration from Charlotte Tilbury’s renowned Hollywood Flawless glow. With the Halo glow liquid filter and Beauty wands, e.l.f. offers a more affordable alternative to Tilbury’s products.

The New Addition: Pout Clout Lip Plumping Pen

The latest addition to e.l.f.’s dupe collection is the Pout Clout Lip Plumping Pen. Priced at a modest $8, this product is rumored to be a dupe for the popular Tarte Maracuja pen or even the luxurious Hourglass alternative. As beauty enthusiasts, this new release gives us a lot to think about. Is e.l.f. prioritizing creating dupes over original products? And most importantly, what does this mean for the industry as a whole?

The Final

While e.l.f.’s journey into the world of dupes may raise some questions and perplex us, there is no denying the impact they have had on the beauty industry. They have managed to bring affordable alternatives to highly coveted high-end products, allowing more consumers to enjoy quality makeup without breaking the bank.

In the end, the choice is yours. Whether you opt for the original high-end product or give the e.l.f. dupe a try, there is no denying that e.l.f. has made a name for itself in the beauty world. So, let’s continue to talk about e.l.f., explore their new makeup, and embrace the ever-evolving landscape of the beauty industry with curiosity and intrigue.

The e.l.f. Halo Glow Liquid Filter

One of the e.l.f. products I am really excited to try today is the e.l.f. Halo Glow Liquid Filter. I recently did a video where I compared it side by side with the Charlotte Tilbury one, and let me tell you, it is indeed a dupe. e.l.f., without a doubt, takes the cake when it comes to duplicating viral products. They do it really well.

Dupes and Affordability

I must admit, I get really excited whenever I find brands that are able to replicate high-end and viral makeup products. Let’s face it, makeup can get quite expensive. Especially for those of us who love makeup and enjoy keeping up with the latest trends, it becomes nearly impossible to afford all the high-end products on the market. Even as someone who works in the beauty industry, I find it challenging to keep up with all the new releases.

Even Professionals Struggle

Sure, I am fortunate enough to receive a lot of products as free samples, and I am truly thankful for that. However, I also spend a significant amount of my own money on makeup. But even with that, it’s still difficult for me to keep up with the endless stream of viral products. Not only is it a financial burden, but it’s also overwhelming to try and stay on top of everything.

The Appeal of Dupes

This is where dupes come in. Makeup enthusiasts like myself find them incredibly appealing. Why? Well, as I mentioned earlier, makeup is expensive. So when a brand like e.l.f. comes along and brings these viral trends to life in their own products, it’s truly a game-changer. Many of their products are inspired by existing luxury brands, but they offer them at a much more affordable price point.

A Better Alternative

Sometimes, these dupes even surpass the originals in terms of quality. Take, for example, the e.l.f. Liquid Poreless Putty Primer. Personally, I actually prefer it over my expensive Tatcha primer. The formula feels slightly different, and in this case, I like the e.l.f. version better. It just goes to show that you don’t always have to break the bank to achieve great results with your makeup.

E.l.f. has proven time and time again that they are the kings of dupes. They not only make trendy products accessible but also offer alternatives that are just as good, if not better, than the high-end originals. So next time you find yourself eyeing a viral makeup item but questioning its price tag, consider giving e.l.f. a try. You might be pleasantly surprised.

The Hunt for e.l.f. Products

The price difference is just so insane and this honestly performs better for me. So sometimes I feel, like the elf products are a little better. In some ways I went to Walmart on a hunt to find some new elf products. I was honestly hoping that they would have those new clickup pens that they just launched. They didnt have them anywhere.

Exclusive Online Lip Liners

I was also on the hunt for some lip liners, which I think they only had online these lip liners that are on their website. I will show you guys right now. They are 2. I dont know how they accomplish that. I think they might be exclusive to their website, which might be how theyve been able to keep that price so low. I do want to try those because Im obsessed with lip liners – and I love so many drugstore lip liners and anyway side note at Walmart.

The Putty Color Correcting Eye Brightener

I found this and I feel like this has been around, maybe for a while it had like the little new sticker above it. So who knows how new this actually is. This is their putty color correcting eye brightener, and I got mine in the shade fair. I dont know if this is a specific dupe for something or not I mean color. Correctors are not exclusive to one brand. A lot of people create color, correcting products. Um Ive just never tried this one Im interested to see if its similar at all to the Becca one that I love or if its a little different, so Im going to apply this underneath the eyes I mean all already Im loving what thats doing you can see how its kind of canceling out the discoloration, oh wow, honestly, I feel like when a color corrector is good.

Now, we need to talk about e.l.f. They have made a name for themselves in the beauty industry, and for good reason. Their products are affordable and often perform better than higher-priced alternatives. During a recent trip to Walmart, I went on a mission to find new e.l.f. products, specifically the new clickup pens that they recently launched. Unfortunately, they were nowhere to be found, leaving me a little disappointed.

Another item on my shopping list was lip liners. However, it seemed that Walmart only carried e.l.f.’s lip liners online. I was intrigued by the fact that they were priced at a mere $2, which left me wondering how e.l.f. managed to keep their prices so low. Perhaps, this exclusivity to their website plays a role.

I have a soft spot for lip liners, and I couldn’t resist the urge to try e.l.f.’s offerings. As a lover of drugstore lip liners, I couldn’t help but wonder if these online exclusives would match up to my favorites. Perhaps I’ll give them a try and share my discovery with you all.

While browsing the aisles of Walmart, I stumbled upon a product that caught my attention – e.l.f.’s putty color correcting eye brightener. Despite its presence on the shelves, I couldn’t help but question its newness. The small “new” sticker placed above it left me perplexed. Nevertheless, I decided

A Surprising Revelation: Concealer is Optional

Do we really need to use concealer? Or can we get away with just a tiny amount? These questions have been swirling in my mind as I try out the new makeup from e.l.f. And let me tell you, the difference it has made is astonishing. Is this a new game-changer in the beauty world? Or am I just late to the party? Whatever the case may be, I am thoroughly enjoying this discovery.

A Shift in Lighting

Take a closer look and you might notice that our lighting has undergone a subtle shift. We’ve been experimenting with different setups and techniques, trying to find the perfect balance. Today, we’re trying something a little different with our camera setup, and I’m hopeful that it translates well on your screens. As always, your feedback is greatly appreciated.

A Luminous Finish with a Unique Texture

The effect of e.l.f.’s new makeup is oddly familiar yet distinct. It reminds me of the Becca foundation, with its luminous finish that I adore. However, there’s something about this product that sets it apart. It has a unique grip and texture, making it quite different from its counterparts. This unexpected twist has me excited to explore more.

The Unspoken Gem: Flawless Satin Foundation

While browsing the aisles of Walmart, I stumbled upon the e.l.f. Flawless Satin Foundation. Although it’s not a new product, I’ve received countless comments from all of you urging me to try it. So, in the spirit of uncovering e.l.f.’s latest offerings, both iconic and innovative, I decided to give this foundation a go. In fact, I couldn’t resist and ended up purchasing two shades. I must admit, this foundation has piqued my curiosity. Is it a dupe for a renowned product? Only time will tell.

First Impressions

Upon initial inspection, the e.l.f. foundation immediately catches my eye with its sleek pump bottle. The design reminds me of the Nars Sheer Glow Foundation, but I can’t be sure if this is intentional or just my imagination. If anyone knows, please enlighten me. Now, let’s move on to the actual product.

Color Testing

I decide to do a patch test with the shade Pearl 120. As I apply it, I can’t help but think that it’s a pretty good match for my skin tone. However, I also purchased the shade beige, which is noticeably darker. Maybe a combination of the two could work for me. I mix them on the back of my hand and accidentally get some foundation on my sweatshirt. Typical. But hey, at least it doesn’t smell bad.

Fragrance and Coverage

Hmm, there’s a fragrance in this foundation. That’s surprising because most of e.l.f.’s products are usually fragrance-free now. But I have to admit, it actually smells quite fresh and pleasant. Let’s see if it lingers throughout the day. I’ve heard great things about this foundation, claiming it has medium coverage, but the packaging doesn’t give away much else. Just some basic usage directions. I wonder how much I paid for this. Was it 6 dollars? That’s a steal considering if it works well.

The Balmy Feel of e.l.f. Foundation

With my sponge and kind of getting rid of any brush lines, it almost has like this balmy feel to it, which is allowing it to almost feel like a skin care product being pressed into the skin um. But I really do also like the amount of coverage that gave that looks really nice.

Minimal Need for Concealer

Well, I feel like because of that corrector I don’t feel like. I need tons of concealer, but I’m going to wear. It anyway were going to go in with the e.l.f hydrating camo concealer. I’m going to use the shade light Ivory and I don’t feel like. I need too much much so just a little here and here honestly, the foundation gave great coverage.

No Concealer for Rest of the Face

I’m not going to do any concealer on the rest of the face. Just going to blend this out.

Bronzing and Contouring with e.l.f Halo Glow Beauty Wands

I’m going to do a little bronzing and contouring with the e.l.f Halo, glow Beauty wands.

Opinions on Dupes

I honestly just want to hear from you guys, like what’s your opinion on dupes in general. I know there can be a lot of mixed feelings about it.

High Quality and Affordable Products

For me, when it comes to price, I really do appreciate high quality, affordable products. We all do and I don’t feel like you have to pay an arm and a leg to get a really nice makeup product, no matter what it is.

Original vs. Dupes

I think I’ve almost just been feeling like the dupe products in a sense start to almost get more hype than the original more high-end products and for me, like I, almost feel like.

Trying the Dupe

I find myself compelled to try the dupe products, even when I may not necessarily need them. It’s an odd sense of curiosity that pushes me towards these items. For instance, even though I already own an array of lip oils and cream blushes, the recent launch of e.l.f.’s new cream blushes caught my attention.

The Appeal of Dupes

I understand the allure of a dupe, especially for those who have been eager to try the rare Beauty blushes. When faced with a significantly more affordable alternative like the e.l.f. ones, it’s tempting to give them a go. However, in my case, I already possess the original products. Despite this, I still feel compelled to try the dupe it’s almost as if I can’t resist the opportunity to compare the two.

Delving into Dupes

Reviewing products feels like second nature to me, and I genuinely enjoy sharing my thoughts on whether a dupe truly lives up to its claims. Creating videos about dupes is one of my favorite types of content to produce. But I’m left wondering where you, my audience, stand on the matter of dupes.

What’s Your Stance?

Do you adore dupes even more than the original products? Or do you purchase both the original and the dupe? Perhaps you prefer to wait until the original product is duped and then only buy the dupe. Alternatively, maybe you remain unaffected by these trends, unlike myself. I’m curious to hear your thoughts and opinions on this matter, so don’t hesitate to share in the comments.

Spotting a Decent Shade

During a recent visit to Ulta, I stumbled upon one shade of The Camo Liquid Blush from the brand new blush line. This blush line is said to be a dupe for the viral blush from rare Beauty, a product that most of us probably already own.

The Shade Dusty Ros

This is the the shade Dusty Ros. They were out of a lot of colors at my Ulta, so I just figured I would buy. One part of me was like oh Ill, buy several, but were just doing one look, so I might as well just show you one color with one look and as always, I went in for one elf product and came out with a lot more partially because I Walked in there – and this is off topic a little bit, but they had the most beautiful massive Charlotte Tilbury display you guys Charlotte Tilbury is officially at Ulta isnt that nuts Im so excited about it.

The Cute Wand

So here’s what this looks like the wand is cute its a little bit more of like a rounded Edge versus the rare Beauty one. I will say that about e.l. they’re, not trying to dupe the packaging so much as much as they are like the vibe and the effect that’s. Why? I feel, like some of the formulas are not like copy paste formulas necessarily and even the packaging might allude to the original product. For example, the Halo Glow Beauty wand, like it has that little sponge tip applicator, but the packaging is not exactly the same.

Trying it Out

Anyway, we’re going to try this out. I’m going to pick this up on the back of my hand and apply it to the cheeks. I mean this is blending out so beautifully, basically I’ve just noticed, especially with like this Cream Blush situation and similar packaging like this, everyone just seems to try to like dupe the original, but then we have like every brand launching the exact same product and this isn’t to say that we shouldn’t be looking for or enjoying dupes, I love finding dupes for high-end products, but it just feels like at some point.

The Current State of Makeup Brands

Is anyone going to like go outside of the box and like innovate? A little bit more are the brands that are going to do that only going to be like the Charlotte Tilburys of the world that set the trends and then everyone just kind of follows later, and I get that theres Trends right like theres, always trends that are Going to come and go everyones into a certain Vibe, and even more so now than before, with social media trends come in so fast and then I feel like they leave just as fast sometimes.

But to me it kind of feels, like all the brands are doing the same type of thing all the time now as soon as one brand makes something go viral somebody dupes it somebody takes their spin on it and makes it their own, which I think is Just the name of the game in some ways, but Im just wondering if thats like going to be the future of makeup or if the dupe culture is a trend itself. I dont know Im just thinking out loud.

The Rise of e.l.f. Cosmetics

I want to hear what you guys feel about this whole topic. Im going to take a little bit of the e.l.f Halo glow setting powder, which actually now that I think of it. I feel like this is one of the first duped products. I dont know if they were intentionally trying to dupe the Charlotte Tilbury powder when they launched this or if it just happened to be that way.

E.l.f. Cosmetics has positioned itself as an affordable and inclusive brand, while also keeping up with current trends. They have gained a loyal following and are known for their high-quality products at affordable prices. With their recent release of the e.l.f. Halo glow setting powder, it seems like they are joining the dupe culture in the makeup industry.

The Dupe Culture in Makeup

The dupe culture has become a prominent trend in the beauty world. Whenever a brand releases a “must-have” product, other brands quickly follow suit, creating their own version of the same product. This phenomenon raises the question of whether originality and innovation are being compromised in favor of quickly replicating popular items.

While some may argue that dupe culture allows more affordable options to be available to a wider audience, others might argue that it stifles creativity and limits the potential for groundbreaking products. It raises the concern of whether makeup brands are simply playing it safe by replicating successful products rather than taking risks and pushing the boundaries of the industry.

E.l.f. Cosmetics: The Future of Makeup?

So, is e.l.f. Cosmetics’ participation in the dupe culture a sign of things to come for the makeup industry? Are more brands going to follow this path, replicating popular products rather than creating new ones?

Only time will tell if this is a lasting trend or simply a phase. As consumers, we have the power to shape the future of the beauty industry. By supporting brands that prioritize innovation and originality, we can encourage a shift away from the dupe culture and towards a more diverse and exciting makeup landscape.

For now, let’s put on our e.l.f. Halo glow setting powder and contemplate

The Solid Dup Path

But this is kind of what led them down that solid dup path. You know, this was one of those first products that reminded me a lot of that Charlotte Tilbury powder, which honestly they don’t even make anymore. Isn’t that wild? But it’s kind of that more glowy powder. Just going to dust that through the T Zone. I’m really liking how this makeup look is turning out. I feel like honestly half of it is that Foundation. It’s looking really pretty. I’m excited to see how this wears on me.

A Foundation Update

Hello, it’s Ally from the future. I’ve got my been holding a nice little light um this Foundation. I just wanted to give you a little update. I’ve been wearing it for about 5 hours or so, not like a full full day um, but it’s looking really nice. It’s obviously like dewy where I normally get dewy. And I realized I didn’t use my hood of Powder where I normally do, so it looks a little extra glowy. Right, wants to hold the light? You want to hold it. You want to hold the light, okay I’ll let you in a minute. So, it looks a little extra dewy than usual for 6. I’m honestly really impressed. I feel like you guys have been telling me to try this for a long time. I don’t know what took me so long, but I’m really happy that I have my collection. The scent lingered for a little bit.

The Reminiscent Scent of e.l.f.

As I delve into the world of e.l.f. makeup, a particularly familiar scent wafts into my senses. I am instantly reminded of the unmistakable Cody powder fragrance that has become synonymous with my beauty routine. It is as if e.l.f has encapsulated this scent and woven it into their products, evoking a sense of nostalgia.

Delving into the Palette

Before exploring e.l.f’s new makeup offerings, I decided to experiment with a touch of brown shadow from another brand – the Nobla palette. Creating a delicate shape within the crease of my eye, I added a subtle splash of color to my eyelid. To enhance the lower lash line, I found myself brand hopping once again. This time, I opted for the CoverGirl Exhibitionist and Kelsey Ballerini collaboration, using one of her stunning liquid eyeshadows.

Lashes That Speak Volumes

Intrigued by e.l.f’s mascara collection, I reached for the Lash and Roll mascara. I must admit, it has been quite some time since I last adorned my lashes with this particular product. As I apply it, I find myself questioning my previous feelings towards it. Does it live up to its name as a dupe for the Benefit Roller Lash mascara? I cannot recall. However, I must commend e.l.f. for creating a mascara formula that lends itself to a natural everyday look, simultaneously providing a gentle lift to my lashes.

The Mysterious Lip Liner

Curiosity piqued, I choose the Cream Glide lip liner from the e.l.f. and Jennifer Coolage collection. As luck would have it, I was unable to find the new e.l.f lip liners. Undeterred, I decided to make use of what I had on hand. The Jennifer Coolage collaboration presented itself as a worthy alternative.

A Variety of Shades to Choose From

The color options offered by e.l.f. are truly impressive. There is such a wide range to choose from that it can be quite overwhelming. From beautiful pinks to deep browns, e.l.f. has got you covered. One shade that particularly caught my eye is called Honey Talks – it has a warm and inviting tone that is perfect for everyday wear.

Another shade that piqued my interest is Rose Envy. This shade exudes a sense of femininity and elegance, and I have heard nothing but great reviews about it. And let’s not forget about Jam Session, a gorgeous brown-berry shade that adds a touch of sophistication to any look. With so many options to choose from, it’s no wonder that e.l.f. is gaining so much attention in the beauty community.

The Packaging and Application

When I received the e.l.f. makeup, I couldn’t help but notice how similar the packaging is to Dior. The sleek design and color scheme are definitely reminiscent of high-end brands. The applicator has a slight minty feel, which gives a refreshingly cool sensation when applying the product. It’s a small detail, but one that sets e.l.f. apart from other drugstore brands.

The application itself is smooth and even. The lip product glides effortlessly on the lips, providing a comfortable and luxurious feel. I have tried many lip products in the past, but I must say that e.l.f. stands out in terms of formula and texture. It truly lives up to the hype it has gained in the beauty community.

A Dupes Worth Sticking Around For

It’s fascinating to see how e.l.f. has become viral initially because of its status as a dupe for higher-end brands. However, what sets e.l.f. apart is that it is not just a dupe – it is a fantastic product in its own right. The quality and performance of e.l.f. makeup can easily rival that of high-end brands.

I can now see why fans of e.l.f. makeup have stuck around even after the initial buzz. The brand consistently delivers amazing products that stand on their own merits. From their diverse range of shades to their impeccable application and texture, e.l.f. has truly earned its reputation as a must-have beauty brand.

E.l.f. has proven itself as a force to be reckoned with in the beauty industry. Their new makeup line offers a variety of shades that cater to all skin tones, and their formula and application are top-notch. If you haven’t tried e.l.f. yet, I highly recommend giving their products a go – you won’t be disappointed.

The Allure of e.l.f. Makeup

E.l.f. cosmetics has taken the beauty world by storm, with their range of affordable, high-quality products that cater to every makeup lover’s needs. One particular product that has caused quite a stir is their new makeup line, which promises to deliver stunning results at a fraction of the price. Let’s delve deeper into the world of e.l.f. and discover why we simply need to talk about it.

A Pop of Pink for Valentine’s Day

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, it’s the perfect time to embrace a little pink in our makeup routine. e.l.f.’s range of pink shades is simply swoon-worthy, and they are sure to add a touch of romance to any look. Whether it’s a soft rosy blush or a vibrant fuchsia eyeshadow, e.l.f. has got it covered.

A Hint of Blush

When it comes to applying blush, we all have our own unique tricks. And if you’re like me and can’t seem to find your blush brush, don’t fret! e.l.f.’s new makeup can be easily applied with your fingertips. The cushiony feel of the product makes the application process a delight, while giving you that perfect hint of color. It’s almost like magic!

The Putty Effect

E.l.f.’s putty line has gained quite a reputation for its unique texture and finish. As I tried out the new makeup, I couldn’t help but notice that familiar cushiony feel, reminiscent of their under eye brightener. It’s a delightful tactile experience that adds to the overall satisfaction of using e.l.f. products.

Beware of Pore Emphasis

While e.l.f.’s Halo glow setting powder is a game-changer for most of our face, we need to be cautious of where we apply it. Larger pore areas, in particular, tend to be emphasized by this powder, overshadowing its otherwise stunning effect. So, remember to steer clear of those areas and stick to other parts of your face for that sun-kissed glow.

Smooth it Out

To achieve a flawless finish, adding a touch of Hooda Beauty powder can work wonders. It effortlessly smooths out any imperfections, leaving your skin looking airbrushed and camera-ready. Don’t forget to buff it in gently for a seamless blend that will have heads turning.

A Silly Mishap

Sometimes, in the midst of our makeup routine, we accidentally create unexpected consequences. For instance, I discovered a smudge of liquid glittery eyeshadow on my hand, which had unknowingly transferred onto my brush. It serves as a gentle reminder to always clean our hands thoroughly, avoiding any mishaps that might compromise our masterpiece.

And there you have it – a glimpse into the world of e.l.f. and their latest makeup line. It’s clear to see why this brand has taken the beauty community by storm. From their stunning shades to their unique textures, e.l.f. continues to deliver affordable, quality products that enable everyone to embrace their inner beauty enthusiast. So

We Need to Talk About e.l.f. (& try their new makeup)

The Glow is Real

Well enough now I have glitter all through here, but that’s okay. It looks mostly good. I’m going to touch up the Brows. I would normally use a setting spray but I’m not going to today, partially cuz. I kind of want to see how this Foundation wears, but also I really like the glow. I didn’t over powder the sides of my face so I’m just not going to worry about setting spray.

Brow Goals

I am going to set my brows. This is not e.l.f. This is the Anastasia Brow gel that I have been loving. I’ve been loving this; I just really felt like wearing it today. So I’m going to use this to set my brows. I am really excited. I’m not even going to lie, I’m so excited about this.

Luscious Lips

Lip oil. This feels good on the lips like. I see why this has gone viral, outside of it being a supposable dupe for the Dior one, it’s just everything about it is so lovely. I just want to keep applying it. I mean the proof is in the pudding like e.l.f. is a fabulous brand. The quality that they bring at the price they bring, I feel like can’t be beat. The only other brand I’m thinking of that really is up to par with that is Moira, but that’s not as accessible. I feel I would love to see Moira come into retail stores, but that’s a whole other topic.
