Sephora Haul: Hair Products
During my December 2023 Sephora haul, I decided to focus on hair products and picked up a single item. Now, let’s get into the details of the hair product I picked up during this event. Unfortunately, I couldn’t resist the temptation and ended up purchasing just one item. Sephora offers a wide range of hair products, making it a tough decision, but I settled on a high-quality shampoo and conditioner set.
Why I Chose This Product
The shampoo and conditioner set that caught my eye was from a well-known brand with rave reviews. I’ve been struggling with dry and damaged hair lately, so I was on the hunt for a product that would provide intense hydration and repair. After reading several positive reviews, I decided to give it a try.
Whey Detox Shampoo – A Necessity for Hair Care
During the Sephora savings event, I managed to grab one of the Whey detox shampoos. However, upon examining my inventory, I realized I needed another backup, and thus, I purchased a second one. This shampoo is simply fantastic, as it lathers up and effectively removes all the build-up in my hair caused by hairspray, creams, and oils. Those who understand the struggle are aware that when I slick my hair back, an overwhelming amount of product resides on my scalp, requiring a thorough scrubbing to eliminate. I apply the shampoo generously to my scalp, ensuring a deep cleanse. Sometimes, I utilize a scalp scrubber for an enhanced experience. Since I only use this product once a week, it has become an essential staple in my hair care routine. Reaching for it after the excessive use of dry shampoo for numerous days has made it my ultimate detox shampoo.
Fenty Skin Body Butter – A Shimmering Delight
While exploring body products, one particular item caught my attention due to the persistent buzz surrounding it. After much contemplation, I gave in and purchased the Fenty Skin Body Butter Drop Shimmering Whipped Oil Body Cream, specifically in the delightful holiday scent. Trust me when I say, this scent is absolute bliss. It encapsulates the aroma of a freshly baked Cinnabon, leaving you longing for more.

Lightweight and Hydrating Body Butter
The body butter I picked up in my Sephora haul has a shimmering effect, but it’s incredibly subtle. The formula is lightweight yet provides ample hydration. It has a slight oil feel due to the infusion, but it doesn’t weigh down the skin or leave any stickiness. What truly sets it apart is the scent. Unlike artificial fragrances that can lean towards plastic, this scent is divine. I understand the hype now. I’m thrilled to have found this incredible-smelling product, and I already know I love the formula. If you’re a body butter lover, this scent is a must-have, especially during this time of year. Hopefully, the creator will release more scents based on the seasons, considering how successful this one has been. I’ve seen everyone rave about it, and now I understand why.
First Impressions: Soft, Matte, and Easy Liquid
Now, let’s switch gears and discuss a couple of products that I’m wearing today. These are my first time trying them, so I applied them lightly to get a feel for them. I’ll provide a more detailed review in a later video, but for now, here are my initial impressions on the Sephora Collection Soft, Matte, and Easy Liquid.

Lipstick Review
I recently picked up a lipstick from Sephora in the shade 01. I was drawn to it because it promised a soft matte formula, which is my preferred finish. However, I was surprised to find that the texture is actually quite liquidy. It’s not what I expected, but it’s not necessarily a bad thing. The shades in this range run a bit deeper, like those warm terracotta nudes perfect for fall. The pigment is nice and the finish almost gives me a soft matte slash stain vibe. I layered it on my lips and it doesn’t feel sticky at all, which I really enjoy. If you’re a fan of midtone browns and warm terracottas, you’ll definitely find a shade to your liking as there are plenty in that color realm. I’ve been wearing it for about 40 minutes now and I haven’t noticed any wear or lines on the inside of my lips yet, so I’ll continue testing it out and keep you guys updated.
Eyeshadow Hype
Another new product that has been garnering a lot of attention lately is the eyeshadows from YSL. It’s interesting to see people rave about this seemingly hidden gem from a luxury brand. The beauty community can be quite unpredictable, and this eyeshadow range has taken many by surprise. People are talking about how beautiful and effortless these eyeshadows are, and I couldn’t help but be intrigued.
I’m curious to see if they live up to the hype. Can they truly deliver a stunning eye look with minimal effort? I’ll have to try them out for myself to see if they’re worth the praise. There’s always a sense of excitement when trying out a new eyeshadow formula, especially when it’s from a high-end brand like YSL. I’m looking forward to experimenting with different looks and seeing how these eyeshadows perform.

The Couture Mini Clutch
The Couture Mini Clutch eyeshadow palette from YSL is a packaging lover’s dream. With its mini handbag feel, it exudes luxury and elegance. The packaging alone deserves a perfect 10 out of 10 rating.
A Stunning Color Choice
Although the other colors in the palette were sold out in my store, I was lucky enough to get my hands on the Warm Neutral bronze eyeshadow palette. This particular shade was my top preference, and I couldn’t be happier with my choice.
Purple Mauvey Tone
In the color 400, the Couture Mini Clutch offers a beautiful matte shade and a stunning satin shade, which is my personal favorite. The purple mauvey tone adds a touch of sophistication to any eye look. Additionally, two toppers are included, which provide a soft glimmer on the eyes.
A Gentle Shimmer
Unlike the intense heavy metallic shadows we’re familiar with, these two toppers offer a softer shimmer effect. While they may benefit from the use of a glitter glue to enhance the intensity, they still add a touch of elegance to any eye makeup look.
An Experiment with Smokey Wing
I’m particularly intrigued by the formula of this eyeshadow palette and excited to experiment with it. I’m curious to see if the shade I chose can create a deep enough smokey wing. Today, I’ll be playing around with this new addition to my collection and putting it to the test.

Eyeshadow Palette: Stunning Packaging and Easy Application
The eye look I created using the new eyeshadow palette from Sephora took me only 2 minutes. This has been one of the easiest eye looks I have ever done, perfect for those who prefer a clean and natural aesthetic with soft shimmery and romantic tones. The packaging of this palette is absolutely stunning, adding an extra touch of glamour to my makeup collection. I do regret not waiting for the color scheme that I initially wanted, but I will still play around with this palette. If I end up falling in love with it, I will definitely purchase the one with the colors I truly desire when it becomes available again.
New Blush Formula: Intense and Rich
I also tried a new color of blush from Makeup Forever, called “Daring Candy.” This blush shade is truly intense and rich, with a vibrant hot pink tone that leans towards magenta. It is a far cry from those baby pinks, making a bold statement on the cheeks. However, I did learn that this particular shade requires some caution while applying. I recommend using a fluffier brush next time to ensure a more diffused and blended effect. Unfortunately, I found it difficult to blend the color properly once it was already applied. So, for this shade in particular, a bigger brush is the way to go.
The Formula of the Peach Shade
I tried the peach shade and I think, like a Rosy shade in one of my previous videos and I fell in love. Its one of those that I wish the packaging was a little bit more fancy. But overall, the formula is really pretty and I do believe that they have some of these in Shimmer formulas. If you do like that, but so far, I believe I’ve only tried the matte colors and I’ve really liked every shade that I’ve tried.
Caving for the Xoni Blush
While we’re on the topic of blush, I caved, you guys. I really wasn’t planning to, but I did cave and get. I think this is my fifth: is this my fifth Xoni blush? It may be my fifth, it’s either my fifth or my fourth, you know it’s bad when you can’t keep track. I raved about these in my Sephora recommendations videos. I’ve raved about them a million times.
The Shade Number Two
So I ended up getting the shade number two, which is tetas tatas Ros. This is supposed to be a warm pink, whereas the shade number one that I originally got is like that baby doll super cool tone.
Jivan’s Loose Powder Blushes
If you’ve not seen these from Jivan, these are loose powder blushes. Now, loose powder blushes are not like my top pick, but there is something about this formula and the colors that I just keep going back to because it is so stunning. So you have four different colors in the actual component.

Gorgeous Glow: Xoni Loose Blushes
I just kind of put it on the back of my hand and then I’m going to blend this. In now these Swatch honestly horribly, you can’t, look at a Swatch of these and make a decision in terms of how they’re going to look on the skin, but these have such a gorgeous gous glow. They really have that almost like the Dior backstage blushes, where they give you that beautiful, like neon lit from within glow, very buildable that’s. Another thing I’ve noticed is not so buildable that you’re getting no pigment, but not over the top. Where you have to be careful, you can just kind of build this up and get this absolutely stunning lit from within glow. So I cannot recommend this enough. I think I’m literally going to cut myself off unless they come out with more shades. I think I’m saying it now publicly: no more Xoni loose blushes for Babs, because I’ve gotten out of hand but it’s an addiction. I just honestly can’t help it. They are so beautiful on the skin. I highly recommend them.
Sophisticated Apple: Ellis Brooklyn Fragrance
Moving on to fragrances, I did pick up two travel sizes to try out. So the first is the Ellis Brooklyn Apple. I couldn’t say that Ellis Brooklyn Apple love. This is up there with sunfruit from Ellis Brooklyn. I haven’t really fallen in love with any of their fragrances other than sunfruit this its giving it a run for its money, although this is a completely different scent, but this is like a sophisticated Apple, it’s Apple but it’s juicy it’s sweet, but it also has this Bubbliness to it that gives it a little bit of sophistication.

The Perfect Holiday Party Scent
This fragrance from Sephora is simply perfect for holiday parties. It evokes the feeling of a New Year’s Eve celebration, with its juicy and bubbly essence. The sweetness is reminiscent of apple champagne, providing a unique and delightful aroma that is hard to describe. It was love at first scent for me. If you’re a fan of fragrances but want something different for the holiday season, this is the one for you. It’s not your typical vanilla gourmand, offering a refreshing twist.
Introducing the New Ki Eden
Along with the elusive “ls brookin” fragrance, I also picked up the new Ki Eden scent. This fragrance stands out among the other Ki offerings as it is sweeter overall. I’m not a fan of the intense and mature oud fragrances that Ki is known for, so this one caught my attention with its notes. It’s sickly sweet in a good way, perfect for those who love sweet scents. The fragrance is sugary, candy-like, and juicy. It has a strong fruity presence, with hints of citrus shining through. I’m particularly pleased that there isn’t much floral in it, as I find floral scents to be overwhelming and give me headaches. This fragrance could be mixed with base musk or vanilla scents to create a personalized blend, but on its own, it is a syrupy and fruity delight. Some may think it resembles the typical scents found at Bath and Body Works, but I believe it offers more complexity and depth.
The Nude Sticks Lip Butter Trio
I recently purchased the Nude Sticks Lip Butter Trio based on the recommendation of a friend, Cheryl. She couldn’t stop raving about them, so I had to see what the fuss was all about. The set includes three full-size lip butters in different shades: pink, shimmery nude, and berry.
High Shine and Pigmentation
Cheryl mentioned that these lip butters were incredibly high shine, but what caught my attention was her mention of their pigmentation. I love lip products that have a decent amount of color, so I was excited to give these a try. As I unboxed the set, the packaging looked sleek and elegant.
A Pleasant Surprise
I had read a few reviews online before purchasing, and some people mentioned that the lip butters were sticky. However, upon trying them myself, I didn’t find them sticky at all. The texture felt nice on the lips and not overly thick. There was a slight minty scent and a mild tingle when applied, which I found refreshing, reminiscent of a Patrick T tingling sensation.
The Perfect Nude Shades
The three shades included in the set were just as described by Cheryl. The pink shade was feminine and delicate, ideal for everyday wear. The shimmery nude shade added a touch of glamour without being overwhelming, perfect for an evening out. Lastly, the berry shade provided a bold pop of color, which I can’t wait to wear for special occasions.
Overall Impressions
I must admit, I was a bit skeptical at first, considering my preference for less sweet fragrances. However, after trying out the Nude Sticks Lip Butter Trio, I can see why Cheryl was so enthusiastic about them. The high shine finish, pigmentation, and comfortable texture make these lip butters a worthy addition to any makeup collection.

Dolce Nude: A Shimmering Shade
One of the shades I picked up during the Sephora gifts for all event is the Dolce Nude. This nude shade is supposed to have a shimmering effect, and I must say, it does deliver on that promise. The pigment in this shade is quite impressive. Although it may shear out a bit, it feels really nice on my lips, almost as if I’ve just popped a mint in my mouth.
Sugar Plum: A Gift for Someone Else
The last shade I got is called Sugar Plum. Personally, I don’t think I’ll reach for this shade as much, so I might consider gifting it to someone else. However, the other two shades are definitely winners for me. I’m not sure if this is a new product from Nude Sticks, as I’ve never seen it before. I’ll have to look into it further to see if there are more shades available.
