Products I’ve Used Up……Hits + Misses!

Hits

In this section, I will discuss the beauty products that have been a hit for me.

First up, we have the Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation. This foundation has been my holy grail for years. It provides great coverage without feeling heavy on the skin. It also controls oil and blurs the appearance of pores, giving my skin a flawless finish.

Another product that I highly recommend is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade. This brow pomade has been a game-changer for my eyebrows. It is highly pigmented and long-lasting, creating natural-looking brows that stay in place all day.

Next, let’s talk about the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer. This concealer provides excellent coverage for dark circles and blemishes. It blends seamlessly and stays put throughout the day, making it a staple in my makeup routine.

Moving on to skincare, the Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser has been a staple in my skincare routine for years. It is gentle yet effective in removing dirt and makeup without stripping the skin’s natural moisture. It leaves my skin feeling clean and refreshed.

Last but not least, I have to mention the Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs, and Rosewater. This facial spray is incredibly refreshing and hydrating. I love using it as a toner or throughout the day to give my skin a boost of hydration. The scent is also very pleasant.

Misses

Now, let’s move on to the products that didn’t quite work for me.

First on the list is the Revlon ColorStay Foundation. Unfortunately, this foundation did not live up to my expectations. It felt heavy on my skin and oxidized throughout the day, leaving a cakey finish. I also experienced breakouts while using this foundation.

Next up is the Essence Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara. Despite its popularity, this mascara did not work for me. It clumped my lashes together and did not give the desired length or volume. I was disappointed with the results.

Moving on to hair care, the Pantene Pro-V Smooth & Sleek Shampoo was a miss for me. It left my hair feeling weighed down and greasy, even after thoroughly rinsing. I found that it didn’t effectively control frizz or smooth the hair as promised.

Lastly, the Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash did not work well for my skin. It left my skin feeling dry and tight, and I experienced increased breakouts after using it. I would not recommend this cleanser for those with sensitive or acne-prone skin.

And that concludes the hits and misses of the products I’ve used up. It’s always interesting to see how different products perform and whether they meet our expectations. Remember to do your own research and consider your own skin type and preferences when trying out new products.

Flur Missing Person Body Wash

I have almost finished using up the Flur Missing Person body wash and I must say, it has become one of my favorite scents. I know there are mixed opinions about Missing Person, but I personally love it. The scent is a perfect blend of romance and muskiness, creating a delightful aroma. The body wash itself is also quite nice, leaving my skin feeling refreshed and clean. Although I received it as a gift, I would definitely purchase it myself. However, I currently have a surplus of body washes, so I wouldn’t need a new one right now. But in the future, I would absolutely repurchase it. Among all the body washes I have tried, Missing Person belongs to the top tier. In fact, I would choose it over any other Flur body wash.

Flur Somebody Would Body Wash

Speaking of Flur body washes, I must mention the Somebody Would variant as well. This particular scent has become my all-time favorite. The formula of the body wash is amazing and it is my go-to choice. I have even repurchased it before going for Missing Person. The cap of my bottle is slightly damaged due to my habit of carrying it everywhere in my purse. It would have been great if it had a more long-lasting fragrance, but it still manages to stay on for a decent amount of time. I cannot express enough how much I love this body wash and I will continue to repurchase it. In fact, I have already repurchased it multiple times.

Native Deodorants

Moving on to deodorants, I have used up two bottles of Native Deodorants. The Coconut and Vanilla scent is hands down my favorite. It leaves me feeling refreshed and keeps me odor-free for the longest period of time. I find it to be the most effective in maintaining freshness throughout the day.

Coconut and Vanilla: A Hit!

I have always been a fan of coconut and vanilla scents, so when I came across a product with this fragrance that also offered plastic-free packaging, I was ecstatic. Sure, the packaging can get a little dirty over time, but that’s a small price to pay for the amazing scent it provides. However, I must admit that the vanilla and coconut variant keeps me smelling fresh for a longer time compared to other scents. Despite that, I can confidently say that this scent is simply irresistible. Unfortunately, it seems that the body wash version of this product is limited edition, and I’m desperately craving to get my hands on it.

Cherry and Vanilla Macaron: A Miss

Now, let’s talk about the cherry and vanilla macaron scent. Oh my goodness, it’s absolutely divine! The moment I smell it, my eyes roll to the back of my head in sheer pleasure. However, I must admit that this scent doesn’t have the longevity that the vanilla and coconut version offers. It’s a real shame because the fragrance is just so good. Despite my love for it, I have to give credit to the other scent for its longer-lasting effect.

It Cosmetics Confidence in a Cleanser: A Hit for Dry Skin

Moving on to skincare, let’s discuss the It Cosmetics Confidence in a Cleanser. This cleanser has been a real game-changer for me, especially considering my very dry skin. Not every face wash works for me, but this one was gentle and effective. With ingredients like hyaluronic acid and ceramides, it didn’t strip my skin of its natural moisture, which is incredibly important for someone with dry skin like mine. While it may not be my absolute Holy Grail cleanser, it definitely ranks high on my list of recommendations.

Vanac Cream Face Wash: The Ultimate Recommendation

Although I am currently enjoying a different face wash, I must mention my all-time favorite: the Vanac Cream Face Wash. Not only is it extremely affordable, but it also delivers exceptional results. I simply adore this brand and everything it offers. Its simplicity and effectiveness make it my go-to choice. Even though I may have found a new face wash that I’m enjoying, I will always highly recommend the Vanac Cream Face Wash to anyone looking for a reliable and affordable option.

My experience with different products has had its hits and misses. While coconut and vanilla remains a personal favorite, the cherry and vanilla macaron scent falls short in terms of longevity. On the skincare front, the It Cosmetics Confidence in a Cleanser has been a hit for my dry skin, but it doesn’t quite surpass the Vanac Cream Face Wash as my ultimate recommendation. Overall, I’ve learned that personal preferences and skin types play a significant role in finding the perfect product that suits individual needs.

Ultra Repair Cream

This skin care brand is my absolute favorite, and their Ultra Repair Cream is a beauty. I cannot stop raving about it on my channel. Whenever my skin is suffering from a serious breakout or experiencing redness and irritation due to a skincare or makeup product, this cream is my go-to savior. It works wonders in calming and hydrating my skin, making it an essential part of my routine.

Sunday Riley Sulfur Acne Treatment Mask

I have loved using this acne treatment mask by Sunday Riley, which contains 10% sulfur. It lasted me a long time because I was using it specifically as a spot treatment. However, to my disappointment, they no longer produce this particular mask. They have recently replaced it with a similar one, which I have also purchased and started using. I can’t really tell the difference between the two, but I have a feeling that I still prefer the original version. Perhaps it’s just because I hate change and find comfort in familiarity.

The Rice Wash

Moving on to more skincare products, the Rice Wash from A is absolutely beautiful. This face wash not only cleanses effectively but also provides a calming and aromatic experience that makes me feel like I’m treating myself to a spa session. It is particularly great for my sensitive and dry skin, and the overall experience of using it is truly luxurious. A definite winner in my book.

Spoiled Child Rapid Recovery Hair Mask

I also used up the Rapid Recovery Hair Mask from Spoiled Child. Although reading the label is a bit difficult due to the glass packaging, I can confidently say that I really, really liked this product.

Hits: Hair Mask and Lip Pencil

This hair mask made my hair super soft and I absolutely loved it. It was a great product that I enjoyed using. However, I had to say goodbye to it as I could no longer use it. No matter how many times I tried to sharpen it, it just wouldn’t work and kept breaking off. It had become crusty, dusty, and old. Unfortunately, it was time to get rid of it.

The Primel Ultra Lip Pencil in Done-Undone was another product that I absolutely loved. I have gone through three of these. I have tried different brand contours, but this lip pencil is the best. It is the most long-wearing lip liner in my collection and I have tried a lot of brands. This one is my favorite.

Miss: Mascara

The Professional Mascara from Makeup Forever was really good. It had a thin mascara on one side and a fat one on the other, which made it ideal for both top and bottom lashes. It provided great volume and was overall a fantastic product.

However, I personally prefer using a tubing mascara. These days, I am lazy when it comes to removing mascara at the end of the night, so a tubing mascara is my go-to. Although I enjoyed using the Professional Mascara, I wouldn’t rush to buy it again because tubing mascaras are still my favorite.

Perfumes

The rest of the products I will be discussing are perfumes.

BYO Mojave ghost

I went through another bottle of BYO Mojave ghost. This is my second bottle. There’s still a bit left in there, but I can’t get it out. This fragrance reminds me of Julie Andrews in a Princess Diaries-like way. It exudes a sense of fancy and class, making me feel like a classy lady. I love the long-lasting scent it leaves on my skin. Not every Biro perfume lasts on me, but this one stays forever. I already have another bottle in my cabinet, as I would repurchase it without hesitation.

Desert Glass by Oaka

If you’re familiar with Oaka, they are an excellent perfume dupe company. They create many versions of your favorite high-end perfumes, and their version of Mojave Ghost, called Desert Glass, is almost identical and pretty spot on. They even have extraits that last forever on the skin. Although I’m not sponsored, I highly recommend checking out Desert Glass if you love Mojave Ghost. It’s a great alternative, and you won’t be disappointed.

Viva Juicy Juicy Couture

Viva Juicy by Juicy Couture is an iconic fragrance. Its popularity has stood the test of time. It’s a scent that many people are familiar with, and for a good reason. It has a unique and captivating aroma that draws you in. Despite its popularity, I have mixed feelings about this fragrance. While I appreciate its nostalgic qualities and its overall goodness, I’m not sure if I would repurchase it. It’s not because it’s not good, but rather because I have so many other perfumes in my collection right now. However, it will always hold a special place in my heart as one of my favorite scents.

Perfume from Lacost

I had the pleasure of using this adorable little Lacost perfume that I purchased on Amazon a couple of years ago. Let me tell you, it smells absolutely amazing. Picture a watery version of Pink Sugar, that delightful scent that reminds you of sponge sugar. Well, this Lacost perfume is like that but in a sugary, juicy way. It’s so yummy! I used to carry it in my purse all the time because it doesn’t last long on the skin, but its pretty and irresistible smell makes up for it.

Skylar’s Boardwalk Delight

Moving on to another marvelous scent, I can’t rave enough about Skylar’s Boardwalk Delight. Oh my gosh, it’s an absolute hit! It’s like the big sister of Pink Sugar with its delectable aroma of cotton candy. Imagine the best cotton candy you’ve ever had, but in a perfume. That’s exactly how this fragrance smells. It’s sweet, it’s mesmerizing, and it’s definitely a must-try. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed.

Roller Ball vs. Full-Size Perfume

Now, let me elaborate on my experience with the roller ball version versus the full-size perfume of a certain brand. I tried the roller ball from D and Derga, and I have to say, I much prefer it over the full-size perfume. Why, you may ask? Well, the roller ball is actually their perfume oil, and it makes a significant difference. The pocket perfume oil has a better consistency, and I feel like it lasts longer on the skin. If you’re considering trying out this perfume, I highly recommend going for the pocket perfume oil. It’s oilier, the consistency is much better, and the longevity is impressive.

A Favorite Musky Scent

Lastly, let me share with you my all-time favorite musky scent. It’s none other than the Lacost pocket perfume mentioned earlier. There’s just something about this scent that captivates me. It’s effortlessly musky and alluring. Alongside the Bianco Latte, it holds the top spot in my collection of perfumes. If you’re a fan of musky scents, I promise you won’t be disappointed with this one.

And there you have it, my experiences with the products I’ve used up, both hits and misses. Remember, everyone’s preferences are different, but these were my personal encounters with these specific items. Happy exploring and discovering the perfect scents for yourself!

Hits

Firstly, let me talk about this T Rex-looking eyelash curler that I hate. It is a complete disaster. Every single time I used it, it managed to rip out more eyelashes than it curled. It was a one-time use and straight into the trash it went. What a waste.

Misses

Now, let’s move on to this strange gadget that looks like something they use to hold your mouth open at the dentist’s office. I have no idea what it is or what it’s supposed to do, but it definitely did not work for me. Maybe someone else can figure it out, but for me, it’s a total dud.

And then there’s this Physicians Formula Mineral Wear Diamond Setter. They claim it’s a long-lasting setting spray, but all it did was turn me into Edward Cullen from Twilight. I’m not kidding, my face was covered in glitter. I don’t mind a bit of shimmer, but this was full-on sparkle. It’s definitely not my thing.

So, that’s it for my roundup of hits and misses this time. I apologize if it was anticlimactic, but I promise next time will be better. I need to go wash my face, take a shower, and get some sleep. Until next time, guys!

Hits

In my quest for the perfect skincare routine, I’ve come across some true gems that have become staples in my beauty arsenal. These products have not only met but exceeded my expectations, delivering remarkable results that have left me astounded. Here are a few of my all-time favorite hits:

Revitalize & Glow Face Serum: This serum has completely transformed my skin, giving it a youthful radiance that I had been longing for. Its potent blend of antioxidants and hyaluronic acid works wonders in hydrating and plumping my skin, leaving it with a healthy glow.

Volume Max Mascara: If you’re looking for lashes that defy gravity, then this mascara is an absolute must-have. Its unique formula not only adds incredible volume to my lashes but also keeps them lifted and curled all day long. No more panda eyes or flaking!

Silk Smooth Hair Oil: This hair oil has been a game-changer for my frizzy and unruly locks. Its lightweight formula tames flyaways, reduces frizz, and adds a lustrous shine to my hair without weighing it down. It’s like silky-smooth magic in a bottle!

Misses

Unfortunately, not every product I’ve tried has lived up to its promises. There have been a few misses along the way that have left me feeling disappointed and disheartened. Here are a couple of products that failed to make the cut:

Invisible Pore Primer: Despite its claims of blurring pores and creating a flawless canvas for makeup, this primer fell flat on its face. Not only did it fail to minimize the appearance of my pores, but it also made my foundation slide off within a few hours of application. Definitely not a winner in my book.

Ultra-Matte Lipstick: I had high hopes for this lipstick, expecting a long-lasting and highly pigmented formula. Unfortunately, it turned out to be neither long-lasting nor pigmented. It felt dry and uncomfortable on my lips, and I found myself having to reapply it multiple times throughout the day. A definite miss.

While my journey to finding the perfect beauty products has been a mix of hits and misses, I have come to realize that it’s all part of the process. What works for one person may not work for another, and experimentation is key. It’s through trial and error that we discover our true beauty favorites. So, don’t be discouraged by a few misses along the way. Keep exploring, keep experimenting, and who knows, you may stumble upon your next holy grail product!
