MAKEUP SHOPPING WITH ME @ ULTA (and What I Bought!)

MAKEUP SHOPPING WITH ME @ ULTA (and What I Bought!)

Ulta’s New Brands

When I entered Ulta, I was immediately drawn to a huge display of Sol de Janeiro products. It’s interesting to see how Ulta is now carrying brands that used to be exclusive to Sephora. Personally, I’m excited about this because Ulta has a much better points system and offers great coupons. It’s always a pleasant surprise to see new brands showing up at Ulta.

New Glosses from Too Faced

I also came across the new kissing jelly glosses from Too Faced. The name immediately brings back memories of the kissing potion from the 80s. Ah, how I loved that stuff! These glosses look cute, but I’m not sure if I want to spend a lot on lip glosses and oils. The drugstore has so many good options available, so I often opt for those instead.

Tarte’s New Palette: Glamazon

Next, I stumbled upon Tarte’s new palette called “Glamazon.” It consists of eight eyeshadows, a highlighter, and a contour shade. Honestly, this palette doesn’t appeal to me at all. It features warm neutrals with a pop of blue, which isn’t my usual style. I prefer more versatile palettes that offer a range of colors suitable for various occasions.

Adding to My Cart

Now, let’s move on to what I actually decided to purchase. One item that caught my attention was the new foundation from Fenty Beauty. I’ve heard rave reviews about their Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation, so I thought I’d give it a try. It claims to provide a smooth, poreless finish, and I’m curious to see if it lives up to the hype.

Next, I couldn’t resist picking up a new mascara. I’ve always loved Benefit’s mascaras, so I decided to try their “They’re Real!” Mascara. It promises to lengthen, curl, volumize, lift, and separate your lashes. That’s quite a list of claims, but I’m always up for trying new mascaras, especially from a brand I trust.

Lastly, I couldn’t resist grabbing a new nude lipstick. I love a good nude lip, and Kat Von D’s Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in the shade “Lolita” caught my eye. It’s a beautiful dusty rose color that I think will complement my skin tone nicely. Plus, I’ve heard great things about the formula’s longevity, so I’m eager to put it to the test.

And that’s a wrap on my makeup shopping adventure at Ulta! I can’t wait to try out my new purchases and see how they work for me. Let me know in the comments if you’ve tried any of these products and what your thoughts are. Until next time, happy shopping!

Stila’s Exciting New Blush and Bronzer Duos

I feel like we’ve seen this so many times over, it’s just not interesting me, but this is something I’m actually excited about. Stila has these new double ended blush and bronzer Duos. They come in several different shade combinations. I think I might actually grab one or two of these. They look really good, and I’m excited because Stila doesn’t come out with new stuff very often.

Urban Decay’s Bold Brow Product

Okay, Urban Decay. What is with the name of this new brow product, Big Bush? Are you serious? And look at the shade names: taupe trap, dark drapes. Come on, like this is too much. I’m sorry, it looks like it’s a tinted gel with fibers to volumize your brows, and they also have another new brow gel called Slick Day Brow. This one is clear, with a comb on one end and a flat side to create that slicked laminated look. It looks pretty interesting.

Nars’ New Palette

Nars also released a new palette, and I have to admit I was really drawn to this rosy neutral color story. But when I think about it, it looks so similar to other palettes they’ve released in the past, and I have those, so I’m going to be skipping this one.

Florence by Mills and their Blush Sticks

Alright, so this isn’t new makeup, but I did want to stop by this Florence by Mills section because my regular viewers know how much I love their blush sticks, and I’ve been meaning to pick up some more shades. I also want to just see what else looks interesting from this brand.

Trying New Products

As a beauty enthusiast, I always love trying out new products, and Ulta is the perfect place to do so. On my recent trip to Ulta, I came across a few items that caught my attention and piqued my curiosity.

The Ordinary’s Barrier Repair Serum

One product that I have been hearing a lot about on social media is The Ordinary’s bright, pink serum, specifically designed for barrier repair. Since I have dry skin, I thought it would be interesting to give this product a try. I’ve seen many positive reviews about it, and I’m excited to see if it lives up to the hype.

New Lip Glosses

Nyx recently released their Duck? Plump lip glosses, and although I’m not entirely convinced about the concept, I thought I would give one a try. I’ve had mixed experiences with lip plumpers in the past, as some can be too intense for my liking. But with the wide range of shades available, it’s difficult to resist the temptation. Additionally, Nyx also has a variety of lip liners that caught my eye, so I might add a few to my shopping bag.

Furthermore, Juvia’s Place launched their new lip gloss sticks, and even though there were no testers available in-store, I saw them online and they looked quite promising. The packaging was sleek, and the colors seemed appealing. I might just pick up a couple and hope for the best!

Brow Gel Discovery

While browsing the aisles, I stumbled upon Essence’s brow gel called “Thick and Wow.” I hadn’t noticed it before, so I assume it must be a new addition to their range. I generally like Essence’s brow products, and the fact that this gel is only five dollars makes it even more intriguing. I think it’s worth giving it a shot and see if it can live up to its name.

Nyx Lip Balms

Finally, I spotted a large display of Nyx’s Slick. Click lip balms. These balms have always been a favorite of mine, as they provide hydration and a hint of color. I couldn’t resist checking out the new shades and picking up a few for everyday use.

Ulta is truly a beauty lover’s heaven, offering a wide array of products and brands to satisfy any makeup cravings. With my newfound discoveries, I can’t wait to go home, try everything out, and see if these products are as impressive as they seem. Who knows, maybe I’ll discover some new holy grail items!

Ulta Finds

I reviewed these a couple weeks ago and I really like them. They have this melty texture but they’re not as goopy as the Tarte ones and they’re really pigmented. They also have these new Pro fix sticks. It kind of looks like color correctors and also concealers. I normally don’t like this type of formula because I feel like they’re always drying, but I might give these a try anyway. You never know.

Empty ELF Display

Oh, my gosh, look at this empty ELF display. This was their new camo blushes. They’re so picked over, wow. I already reviewed these along with their new camo hydrating CC cream. Personally, I wasn’t a fan of the foundation, but I did like the blushes. They’re just really pigmented, so you have to be careful.

What I Bought

Alright, so I did end up grabbing a few things. I’m going to head home and I figured we could just quickly do some swatches and I’ll show you everything that I got. All right, guys, I’m back home and this is what I ended up getting.

So, I got two skincare items. The first one is this new cleanser from Clinique. It’s the Take the Day Off Facial Cleansing Mousse. I saw this over by the cash register when I was about to check out. It says it’s a luxurious silky mousse to gently and effectively remove longwearing makeup and lift away dirt, oil, and other impurities. It lathers into a soft comforting foam.

First Impressions at Ulta

So it sounds really good. I figured we could just take a look. I just want to see what the texture is like so yeah, it’s just kind of like a thicker mousse-like texture. Ooh. That is actually really nice.

Amazing Foaminess

It does have a really silky feel and it’s really foamy too. I’m not even using any water and look at how much it foams up. That is crazy. You really only need a tiny little bit. I’m just going to go rinse this off quick.

Effective and Hydrating

All right, so that actually feels really nice. It feels like it’s going to clean well, but it doesn’t make my hands feel really dry. And then the other thing that I got is from The Ordinary. I’ve seen this everywhere lately. This is their soothing and barrier support serum.

An Intriguing Formula

It claims to have lipids, vitamins, and phytotechnologies for epidermal repair. So as somebody with dry skin, I feel like barrier support is always a good thing. So I figured we’ll just try a little bit of this on my hand. Oh, look at this pink color. How cool is that, although it kind of makes me think of pepto-bismol, I’m not going to lie.

Light and Silky

But anyway, it’s a really thin light serum and it really kind of makes the pink color just disappear, so it’s not going to make you look pink. And it has a really silky feel. It just sinks right in. It’s not greasy at all, and yeah.

I’m Excited to Try The Ordinary

I mean look at my hands, the difference. I feel like this one looks a lot more plumped up, less dehydrated over here. I kind of see some dehydration lines going on, so yeah, I’m excited to try this out and start using it. I love The Ordinary. They have great products and they’re so affordable. I really love The Ordinary, I feel like they just have great products and they’re so affordable.

A Brow Gel Alternative

Next up, I did get a brow gel and I didn’t get the big bush one from Urban Decay, that one just was kind of crazy. But I saw this one that looks really similar from Essence and it’s the thick and wow fixing brow mascara. This also has the fibers in the formula, and I got the shade caramel blonde, and I really, I didn’t open the tubes, they didn’t have testers in store, but I was just looking at the color of the tube and this one looked like it was going to be more cool toned, like my brows are. So I’m hoping that this color works for me and yeah, I mean just looking at it, it looks very similar to the wand of the Urban Decay. When I looked at the tester of that one, you could also kind of see the little fibers in the brush. Let me see if I can just show the color a little bit. Alright yeah, it is a nice kind of cool-toned taupe. I think that’s going to work really well, so anyway, excited to try that.

The NYX Pro Fix Sticks

I also got a few of the new NYX Pro fix sticks.

Trying out the Color Correctors

During my shopping trip at Ulta, I decided to pick up some color correctors to address issues with redness and brighten up my complexion. I opted for the green color corrector specifically designed to correct redness and the pink one for brightening. Additionally, I also grabbed a regular concealer shade to complete my collection.

The green color corrector, in shade 0.1, immediately caught my attention with its highly pigmented formula. I was eagerly anticipating its effectiveness, as some green correctors tend to be sheer and fail to correct anything. However, I was pleasantly surprised by its creamy texture and comfortable feel on my skin. It seemed promising.

Moving on to the pink color corrector, shade 2, it appeared to be just as emollient as its green counterpart. I appreciated that it was not too yellow, offering a more natural look. I decided to test the blending ability of these correctors by applying a small amount on the back of my hand. To my delight, they effortlessly blended out, leaving a lightweight and flawless finish. The pigmentation was impressive, and I couldn’t help but feel excited to put them to the test.

Exploring the NYX Duck Plump Gloss

Alongside the color correctors, I couldn’t resist getting my hands on one of the NYX Duck Plump Glosses, despite finding the marketing strategy slightly amusing. The concept of achieving “duck lips” isn’t particularly desirable, but the color of this gloss was too beautiful to resist.

As I made my way towards the check-out counter, I pondered over the idea of trying the gloss. Would it enhance my lips or make them look overly plump? Regardless of my skepticism, I decided to give it a chance.

My Ulta Haul

After a successful shopping spree at Ulta, I ended up purchasing the green and pink color correctors, as well as a regular concealer shade. The color correctors showed promising results during my testing, exhibiting creamy textures and impressive blending capabilities.

Additionally, I decided to go for it and try the NYX Duck Plump Gloss, despite the unconventional marketing approach. The stunning color of the gloss certainly caught my eye, making it hard to resist.

Overall, my Ulta haul left me both excited and curious to try out these new additions to my makeup collection. The color correctors and gloss held great potential, and I couldn’t wait to see how they performed in real-life situations.

Lilac on Lock

I came across this lip gloss called Lilac on Lock and I was drawn to its pinkish cool tone. I decided to swatch a bit on my hand to see how the color would turn out. To my surprise, it was incredibly pigmented for a lip gloss. I wasn’t expecting that at all. It seems like a full coverage formula, so I’ll have to try it on my lips later and see if it has a tingling effect. I hope it’s not too intense. Along with the lip gloss, I also picked up two NYX lip liners called Line Loud Lip Pencils.

Double Trouble

Excited about my purchases, I quickly removed the plastic wrapping from the lip liners. However, I started feeling a sense of dj vu. It turns out, I unintentionally bought two of the exact same color. These lip liners were placed in different sections, tricking me into thinking they were different shades. But alas, they were not. I guess one of them was misplaced. I’ll just set one of them aside and give it to someone I know who might like it. The color I ended up with is called Leave a Legacy. It looked like a beautifully neutral pink shade, but upon swatching, it has a slight peachy undertone. It’s not what I expected, considering how cool-toned it appeared in the tube, but I suppose it’ll still work.

Overall, my Ulta makeup shopping experience was filled with surprises – from the unexpectedly pigmented lip gloss to accidentally purchasing duplicate lip liners. It just goes to show that even the most careful shoppers can stumble upon unexpected twists and turns. I can’t wait to try out these products and see how they perform. Stay tuned for my future updates on their lasting power and any other surprises they may bring!

Testing out Lip Liners

I recently went makeup shopping at ULTA and one of the items I picked up was a lip liner in a warm tone color. While I do wear warm tone colors, I realized that it wouldn’t go well with the lip color I had in mind. Upon swatching the lip liner, I noticed that it felt incredibly creamy. Now, I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing. Sometimes, lip liners that are too creamy tend to not stay in place. I guess I’ll have to test it out and see how it performs.

Exploring Volumizing Gloss Sticks

Another item that caught my attention at ULTA were the volumizing gloss sticks from Juvia’s Place. Unfortunately, there were no testers available, so I had no idea what they would look like on me. However, the description claims that they have a non-sticky texture and provide a volumizing and long-lasting high shine finish. They also contain moisturizing butters, which is always a plus. I decided to pick up two shades – Soft Life and Black Berry. Soft Life appeared to be a nice neutral color, almost like a rose. Let’s see how it feels on the lips.

The Unexpected Texture

Upon applying the volumizing gloss stick in Soft Life, I was taken aback by its texture. It felt incredibly melty, similar to the tarte marua juicy lips. Additionally, it had a subtle cocoa scent, which was quite pleasant and unexpected. As for the color, it was just as I had hoped – a beautiful rose shade. Now, let’s move on to the second shade, Black Berry.

Surprisingly Sheer

At first glance, Black Berry appeared to be a dark shade in the tube. However, upon swatching it, I noticed that it had a sheer formula. This means that it won’t go on as dark as it initially appears. I guess that’s a good thing if you’re looking for a more subtle lip color. Overall, I’m quite pleased with my choices and I can’t wait to incorporate them into my everyday makeup routine. ULTA never fails to surprise me with its variety of makeup products.

Purchase 1: Beautiful Purple Shade

This shade caught my eye right away. It’s absolutely gorgeous, a stunning purple shade that I instantly fell in love with. The texture of this product feels quite luxurious and I have high hopes for it. It appears to be super moisturizing and the shine it gives off is so appealing. Compared to the tarte ones, these feel slightly thinner and less goopy, which is a good thing. I’m excited to test it out and see how it performs.

Purchase 2: Stila Blush and Bronze Hydra Blur Cheek Duos

I couldn’t resist picking up a couple of these Stila blush and bronze Hydra blur cheek duos. They look incredibly promising. According to the claims, they are gel-based blush and bronzer that leave a dewy, non-oily glow from within appearance. They also contain hydro blur blend to hydrate the skin and blur imperfections. Sounds like a dream, right?

For my first choice, I went with the grapefruit and caramel shade. The blush side leans towards warm pink, which I find really flattering. The bronzer, however, doesn’t quite match my preferences as it has a yellow undertone. But I see potential in using it as a nude blush or even blending it with the grapefruite shade. Mixing the two might give a stunning effect!

The second duo I purchased is apricot and golden. I’m excited to see how this combination will turn out. Achieving a subtle golden glow on the cheeks seems so appealing to me. Can’t wait to try it!

Makeup Shopping at Ulta

I was recently at Ulta, on the hunt for some new makeup products. As I browsed through the aisles, my eyes landed on the Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick. Intrigued, I picked up a couple of shades to test them out.

Testing a Shade

One of the shades I chose was a light peachy color. However, upon closer inspection, I noticed that the bullet looked worn down. It seemed like someone had already used it, and it was stuck in the cap. Disappointed, I knew I had to return it. Before doing so, I wanted to at least swatch it to get an idea of the color.

The shade turned out to be a little more peachy than grapefruit, and the accompanying bronzer had a yellow undertone. Comparing it to the other shade I had picked, I preferred the first one. It looked much better in comparison.

The Formula and Texture

Although I was disappointed with the shade I had to return, I was pleased with the formula of the Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipsticks. They have a slightly dewy texture, which feels smooth and not dry on the lips. I believe they will dry down for the most part, without leaving a sticky residue.

Additionally, the formula has a nice blurring effect, which adds to the overall appeal. I was excited to try out the lipsticks, and although I might consider exploring other colors, I am looking forward to giving them a go. Stila doesn’t often release new products, so this was a pleasant surprise.

Trying Out New Blush Colors

I couldn’t resist getting two new shades of the Florence cheeky pop blush sticks during my visit to ULTA. These blushes have become a staple in my collection because of their amazing longevity and beautiful pigmentation. The first shade I picked up is called Iridescent Izzy, which is a stunning coral color. If you’ve seen my previous videos, you know how much I adore these blushes. They last all day on my skin and only require a small amount for a pop of color. I love how they have a powdery dry down, similar to Stila’s Lilium, one of my favorite cream blushes. To compare, I swatched them alongside the other shades I own. Rosy Rona is a dusty cooler tone shade, while Lavish Len is also cool toned. These three cooler shades complement the bright pop of coral that I added to my collection.

Exploring More from Florence

Since I had such a great experience with the blushes, I decided to try out a few more products from Florence. One of my purchases was an eyeshadow stick in the shade Loli. Let me take off the plastic so we can see the color better. It’s a beautiful shimmery pink that I’ll swatch right here.

Discovering Great Finds at ULTA

During my ULTA shopping trip, I found some incredible makeup products to add to my collection. The experience of browsing through the store and exploring different brands was so exciting. ULTA truly is a makeup lover’s paradise. I was able to find the perfect shades of blush and even discovered new eyeshadows to experiment with. I always feel inspired when surrounded by so many options and possibilities. ULTA is definitely the go-to destination for all your makeup needs.

Ulta Shopping Experience

During my recent shopping trip at Ulta, I had the opportunity to explore a range of makeup products. I was particularly intrigued by a highlighter that I had heard great things about. However, upon swatching it, I noticed that it lacked the intense pigmentation I was expecting. To my disappointment, it didn’t provide the desired level of glow either. The sheen it did have was subtle, giving it more of a satin finish. Additionally, I noticed that when I went over it again, it seemed to remove some of the pigment, which was not ideal.

Lip Liner Selection

Apart from the highlighter, I also purchased two lip liners from the “Mark – My Words” collection. These lip liners require sharpening and don’t twist up. The packaging of the first shade hinted at an orangey color, but upon application, it revealed a beautiful rosy hue. The second shade, “Confident,” turned out to be the perfect nude shade. I was pleased to discover that both lip liners had a creamy texture, which made application smooth and effortless. I’m excited to see how they perform in the long run.
