Clarins Cryo Flash Cream Mask
Now, this is a product that I’ve seen everywhere, and it’s purely because of the amount of adverts that I’ve seen people do of this product. This is the Clarins Cryo Flash Cream Mask purchased with my own money. A lot of people whose content I really like and whose reviews I trust have done sponsorships for this brand. I’ve not used Clarins for a…no. Ever. I’ve never used Clarins. Oh my God. Clinique, I use Clinique. Clarins, I’ve never used because to me it’s a very old school brand that your older relatives would use. And I don’t really see…I don’t know, I feel like it’s purposely targeted at a more mature audience.
But when I saw this Cryo Flash Cream Mask, I really wanted to try it because, again with my rosacea and that term “inflammageing,” cryotherapy is meant to be good for calming all that down, stopping redness inflammation. But this mask, in particular, says, “The intensive Ten Minute Cooling Cream Face Mask inspired by the latest cryogenic technology.” So, you know, I’m not sure what the connection is but let’s just go with it.
First impressions
Okay, I have to say, I love the packaging for this mask. It comes in a sleek white tube with silver accents. It definitely looks high-end and luxurious. The texture of the cream is also really nice. It’s smooth, creamy, and easy to spread on the skin. I like that it feels cooling and refreshing upon application. It has a pleasant scent too, not overpowering but just enough to make it a pleasurable experience.
Performance
Now, let’s talk about the performance of this mask. According to the instructions, you’re supposed to leave it on for ten minutes and then rinse it off. I followed the instructions and applied a thin layer all over my face. As soon as I applied it, I could feel the cooling sensation, which was quite nice. However, after the ten minutes were up, I didn’t notice any significant changes in my skin. It didn’t feel more hydrated or smoother. It was just…meh. I was expecting a bit more from a mask that claims to be inspired by cryogenic technology.
Value for money
In terms of value for money, I have to say that this mask is quite expensive. It retails for $60, which is on the higher end for a face mask. And considering that it didn’t deliver the promised results, I’m not sure it’s worth it. There are definitely other masks on the market that are more affordable and perform better.

Thermal Imaging Experiment
It feels like a sting.. It feels like my skin, has pins and needles.. Now I have my own thermal camera thing right.. So here is my face before. As you can see to the side, the more yellow and orange, something is the warmer it is the more purple to blue. Something is the cooler it is. And you can actually see the temperatures.
The Cooling Effect
Bearing in mind. This is one of the hottest days of the year. So far. And after ten minutes you can see that it really has cooled down. My skin. And my skin did feel cool after.. Even when I took it off. My skin was still … that menthol feeling was gone.
Comparison with Normal Moisturizer
But the cooling sensation was still there., And I will say, after about five minutes, redness had gone down a fair bit too.. What I did then, the next evening, when it was around about the same temperature, is just use a normal moisturizer.. I got a moisturizer that was the same kind of texture as this mask with no cooling kind of claims., Its just a nice gel cream, ceramide moisturizer.
The Surprising Results
I left it on my skin for ten minutes and look how much cooler my skin looks and felt.. It felt pretty much the same. Without that stinging, sensation. Redness had gone down.. I kind of just allowed this moisturizer to sit on my skin and soak in rather than just rubbing it in straight away., But my skin was so much cooler.
While the overly sponsored skincare products claim to provide a cooling effect, the experiment with a normal moisturizer of the same texture and no cooling claims showed similar results. The cooling sensation and reduction in redness were achieved without the discomfort of the stinging sensation. This raises questions about the efficacy and necessity of investing in expensive, hyped-up skincare products when more affordable options may provide comparable results.

I recently got my hands on the LOreal Paris True Match: Nude Plumping Tinted Serum with 1 pure Hyaluronic Acid. This product claims to be a serum and makeup hybrid, promising to provide coverage, hydration, and a natural finish. As someone with rosacea, I was intrigued by the idea of a product that could even out my skin tone while still allowing some redness to show through.
When I first opened the bottle, I noticed that it was quite leaky. It was messy to handle and a bit frustrating. I squeezed a small amount onto my hand, and the texture felt incredibly soft. It was smooth and silky, which gave me hope that it would blend well into my skin.
Application Difficulties
However, when it came to actually applying the product, I found myself at a loss. I wasn’t sure how much to use or the best method to achieve the desired effect. I decided to apply it all over my face, using my fingers to blend it in.

A Surprising Difference
Ill do one cheek, so we can see. This one. The difference side by side.. It does feel really soft and smooth.. Usually, when Ive tried these tinted kind of serums foundations, before my skin kind of feels instantly, matte and powdery and dry. And within like a few minutes, my skin gets kind of tight.. Do you know what I mean Like Ill do this and you can see every pore and bit of texture on my face, which obviously I dont like. It emphasizes it more than anything.
Hydration that Actually Works?
But this feels really genuinely hydrating, which usually, when these, like 2 In 1 hybrids, skincare makeup hybrids, say theyre hydrating, Im like no youre not., Like youve, just got Hyaluronic Acid in so youre, using that hydrating buzword to complement your product.. I mean it definitely looks better on camera than it does in real life. Ill say that This lighting isnt the most flattering anyway.. I think I like that. It gives like a very natural glow. Its like a nice light coverage, which is what I like. You see. The difference With it. Without it., I think I like that., I really quite like that.
A Messy Affair
But look its also just leaking everywhere.. Its very messy., Very messy., Like the product doesnt stay in the pipette and then its also like covering the pipette on the outside as well.. So its very messy, very leaky, very fluidy, which I think it kind of needs to be to be this skincare hybrid.

I recently tried out the Clarins tint, and I must say, I don’t entirely dislike it. However, there are a few things that need improvement. The Summer Fridays tint is fluid and smooth, lacking that dry powderiness that the Clarins tint has. But perhaps this is something one would expect from makeup. Nothings, going to happen in just 28 seconds.? Maybe Hyaluronic Acid is going to make your skin look dewier and plumper. Tinted serums. All that kind of stuff are going to give these temporary effects, but youre not going to see your pores reduced by 54 in just 28 seconds. Lets not lie.
An Iconic Brand
Youve already got an iconic brand.. So Ive been using this for since its release. Actually I ordered it. Myself. Im not on their PR list, as you can tell. Its really fcking, nice. And Ill be honest with you. I really hate to say it because I dont believe you should ever have to pay so much money for skincare.. This was 26 and its tiny. Like I thought I made a mistake and got a sample. And their bigger version. Their 50ML is 79. And I do not think that Charlotte Tilbury skincare, especially, is worth those markup prices.
A Really Nice Moisturizer
What I will say is this is a really really nice moisturizer. Its really nice. It feels light and dewy and cloudy on the skin. Like you put it on, and your skin feels a lot cooler. Your skin looks like …. Do you know what I hate about? These dewy glowy skin moisturizers That sometimes they can just look a little bit greasy on your face. But you put this on and your skin does look dewy and glowy. It feels like it settles well into the skin, almost immediately without being a typical full oily skin cream, in the sense that its very alcohol heavy in the sense that everything just kind of sinks into your skin and then evaporates off.

A Not-So-Light Solution for Oily Skin
These products are marketed as suitable for people with oily skin. While they don’t leave a greasy residue, I can’t shake off the feeling that if I use them in the morning, my already oily T-zone will struggle to produce its natural oils. It’s not an issue of heaviness, but rather the fact that it’s a bit too much for everyday use. When we think of water creams, we think of lighter options like the Lotus Revectin Cream or the Versed Dew Point Cream, which are perfect for oily skin as they feel weightless throughout the day.

Although these products sink into the skin nicely, there’s still a lingering sensation that keeps the skin moisturized throughout the night. However, if you have extremely oily skin, your natural oils might not react well to these products. There might be a slight heaviness that can make a difference, even if it’s just a minuscule amount. Consequently, I don’t believe it’s light enough to be categorized as a traditional water cream, as we all know what a water cream truly feels like.
In summary, these overly sponsored skincare products offer moisture, hydration, and nourishment that can be felt even after several hours. They are best suited for specific times of the year or specific skin types. While they don’t leave a greasy layer, they might not be the best choice for individuals with very oily skin due to the potential heaviness. So, whilst these products are advertised with great enthusiasm, it’s important to analyze their compatibility with your own skin before jumping onto the bandwagon.

Finally, we have the Naked Sundays Glow, Go Lip Oil. This lip oil not only provides hydration but also offers sun protection with its SPF 50. Naked Sundays is a brand that specializes in sunscreens, and this lip oil is no exception.
A Nice Surprise
I actually really like Naked Sundays. I kind of forgot about them for a bit. But I love their sunscreens. Their zinc one isn’t too great. I used it in a video and I really thought I liked it. And then later on, it was all balling up in my hairline. However, this lip oil in their coconut flavor is a pleasant surprise.

The Naked Sundays Glow, Go Lip Oil contains Hyaluronic Acid, Watermelon Extract, and Kakadu Plum – all known for their antioxidant properties. Hyaluronic Acid helps to hydrate and plump the lips, while Watermelon Extract and Kakadu Plum provide protection against environmental damage.
A Glossy and Sticky Finish
Now here’s my review. I’ve been using it for a few days and it goes on very glossy. Very, very glossy. And I do feel like for the amount you have to use, it may be too glossy for some. Its very sticky. It is very, very sticky. So I do feel like this might be nice under makeup. Maybe like a gloss or something. Or like lipstick.
The Taste of Sunscreen
I don’t know how lipstick would perform over the top of it. One thing to note is that it tastes like sunscreen. Very much tastes like sunscreen. I do not think the coconut helps that, because that coconut reminds me of the SPF oils and like old fashioned sunscreen, where I feel like coconut was the flavor … like Malibu? Was it Malibu Sun, Whatever that brand is.
By trying these overly sponsored skincare products, it’s clear that there can be surprises, both good and not-so-good. However, with a discerning approach, it’s possible to find products that suit your skin type and preferences.
Hawaiian Tropics: A Blast from the Past
Ill put it here. Hawaiian Tropics, something like that.. It reminds me of that. Like a very old fashioned sunscreen.. They do have other flavors, but honestly, Ive been using it because Im fine with it.
After a good five minutes, that sunscreen taste kind of goes. It does leave and the stickiness does calm down.. I feel like you need to give it a minute and just kind of do. This.. However, its very, very glossy.
Emphasizing the Gloss: A Shiny Spectacle
The lights are definitely emphasizing the gloss, but its nice.. I do like Naked Sunday. Im going to use it.. I will continue to use it up and I definitely check out their other sunscreens.. They have an amazing array of sunscreen..
