HOLIDAY BLUSH & LIP SETS at SEPHORA… What's Worth Trying?

HOLIDAY BLUSH & LIP SETS at SEPHORA... What's Worth Trying?

Table of Contents

Lys Cream Blush Holiday Set

I’ve recently been trying out the Lys Cream Blush Holiday Set from Sephora, and I have to say, it’s definitely worth a try. Retailing for $22, this kit includes three generously sized cream blushes. Each blush contains 0.14 ounces of product, which is quite impressive.

Compared to last year’s set, I noticed that this year’s shades are more intense and vibrant. There’s a deep berry punch shade that adds a beautiful pop of color to the cheeks. Additionally, they’ve included a brighter coral shade that is perfect for those who love bold looks. What caught my attention the most is the inclusion of a shimmery shade, which adds a luminous finish to the cheeks.

Sephora’s Other Blush Sets

Apart from the Lys Cream Blush Holiday Set, Sephora has also released a few other blush sets that are worth considering. One of them is the Blush Palette from Makeup by Mario. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the chance to try it out in this video, but I’ve heard great things about it. If you’re a fan of versatility, this palette offers a range of shades that can be mixed and matched to create different looks.

Another option is the Blush Trio Palette from Hourglass. It comes in a beautiful snake palette, and I must say, the packaging alone caught my attention. The palette includes three blush shades that are perfect for any occasion. With each blush having a different finish, you can easily achieve a natural, matte, or shimmery look depending on your preference.

Lip Sets at Sephora

Moving on to lip sets, Sephora has a great variety to choose from this holiday season. One standout option is the Nude Lip Set from Huda Beauty. Priced at $39, this set includes four mini liquid lipsticks in stunning nude shades. The formula is long-lasting and comfortable to wear, making it a perfect choice for everyday wear.

If you’re a fan of bold lip colors, then the Bright Lips Set from Anastasia Beverly Hills is worth trying. With three vibrant shades, this set allows you to experiment with different looks and add a pop of color to your holiday makeup.

Selflove Shimmer: A Classic Dusty Rose with a Twist

This blush shade, named Selflove Shimmer, appears as a classic Dusty Rose at first glance. However, upon swatching and closer inspection, the shimmer becomes evident. When applied, a slight shimmer is also detectable. The application of this shade was my first choice for today. Its soft color seemed appealing, and the pigment does show up beautifully. There is a fine silvery tone to the shimmer, which adds a touch of elegance. The cream blush formula makes it easy to blend, and it falls into the category of a very classic cream blush. It does not have the dewiness of a Tower 28 lip and cheek product nor the cream-to-powder texture of an Elf putty blush. It’s a versatile option that works well on top of powder without any struggle, making it a convenient choice for any makeup routine.

Humble: A Coral Pink Delight

In this holiday set, there is another blush shade called Humble. This shade actually exists in the regular line, but here you get a mini size. Humble is a delightful coraly pink hue that adds a touch of vibrancy. Its inclusion in this set offers the opportunity to try out a smaller version of this beautiful shade. The formula of Humble, like the other blushes in this set, is also a classic cream formula, making it easy to blend and apply. Whether you prefer a more natural look or a bolder pop of color, Humble can cater to both preferences.

Different Shades, Different Favorites

I appreciate the wide range of shades included in these holiday blush and lip sets at Sephora. Each shade is so unique and different from the next, making it difficult to choose a favorite. However, there is one shade that really stands out to me and that is the beautiful berry color. It has a lot of pinky-purple undertones and sheers out beautifully on the skin. Berry cheeks are perfect for this time of year and this shade could have easily been featured in my previous video discussing berry lip and cheek combinations.

A Fun Color Pop

I recently tried layering a little bit of this berry shade on top of my other blush using my Sephora 56 brush, and it gave my cheeks a fun color pop. It’s cool to have these three different shades in the set because you can mix and match them to create your desired look. If you want a more muted effect, you can start with one shade and then layer another on top. Alternatively, you can go for a bolder look by starting with a vibrant shade and building it up. The versatility of these blushes allows you to experiment and customize your makeup look according to your preference.

User-Friendly and Intense

The price of $22 for this blush and lip set is reasonable, considering the quality and user-friendliness of the cream blushes. They are easy to apply and blend effortlessly on the skin. Moreover, I find that the intensity of these blushes is a step up from the previous year’s set. They provide a noticeable pop of color to the cheeks, adding a vibrant and youthful glow. Overall, I give a thumbs up to these cream blushes.

Rare Beauty: Blush and Glow Set

Another cheek set that caught my attention is the Rare Beauty set called “Blush and Glow.” This four-piece set includes two liquid highlighters and two dewy liquid blushes.

Mini Sets from Rare Beauty

I enjoy exploring the mini sets from Rare Beauty, especially their cheek products. These mini sets offer a great value as a little goes a long way with these products. Despite the smaller size, you won’t run out of them quickly. One of the shades in this mini set is a pinky soft Berry blush called Wisdom, which appears to be exclusive to this kit. Another shade called Virtue is a dirty Peach, which is part of the regular line. And then there are Magnetize and Transcend. Transcend is part of the permanent collection and is a rose gold shade. Magnetize, on the other hand, is a Goldy shade that is exclusive to this set.

A Like, Not a Love

This set, for me, falls into the “like, not a love” category. It’s not that I don’t like it or that there’s anything wrong with it. If you’re a fan of Rare Beauty products, this set might be a great way to get a nice little collection. However, I find these blushes to be more fussy compared to other products, particularly the Lys stuff. The application requires more attention and care.

Swatches and Sheer Application

Here are some swatches of the blushes. Unfortunately, I don’t have much space to fully sheer them out, but you can get an idea of their colors. Keep in mind that these blushes can be a bit more challenging to work with compared to other brands.

Holiday Blush & Lip Sets at Sephora

Soft Berry and Dirty Peach

In the world of beauty, shades play a significant role in creating the perfect look. When it comes to the holiday blush and lip sets at Sephora, there are two shades that catch the eye – a soft berry hue and a dirty peach tone. These shades not only complement each other but also reflect the overall color scheme discussed in the lip and cheek picks video.

A Touch of Rosy Gold

One of the highlights of this collection is the rose gold highlighter named “Transcend.” Adding a beautiful and glowy touch to any look, this highlighter does not leave behind a trail of shimmer. It is effortlessly blendable, requiring just a dot on the skin. While the blushes in this set are also lovely, there is something uniquely captivating about the berry and coral tones.

The Art of Application

However, it’s important to note that blushes can be a bit more challenging to work with. It’s crucial to start with a small amount and blend it gradually to achieve the desired effect. It can be a bit of a trial-and-error process, as finding the right amount can take some time. Sometimes, it’s necessary to swipe off excess blush onto the hand to avoid an overly intense look on the cheeks. The application process for these blushes requires a bit more precision and attention.

Exploring the Lip Products

Now, let’s move on to the exciting part – trying out the lip products.

The Fenty Beauty Lip Gloss Set

I have always been fascinated by lip glosses, so when I came across the Fenty Beauty lip gloss set, I couldn’t resist giving it a try. The set comes with a variety of shades, including the glossy posy volume 6.0. What caught my attention was the fact that these glosses have a creamy color, rather than the usual shimmer. They are like a gloss balm, which is something I have never tried before.

A Twist on Traditional Lip Gloss

One of the shades included in the set is the universal lip luminizer in Pink Dragonfly. This shade is a muted pink with a warm golden shimmer, and it feels absolutely stunning on the lips. I have been wearing it for quite some time now, and it has quickly become one of my favorites. It has a sheer finish, which looks beautiful when layered on top of other lip colors.

A Plumping Effect

Another shade that intrigued me was the gloss balm in Heat. This is a universal lip luminizer and plumper, which adds a little extra volume to the lips. I have to admit, I was a bit skeptical about the plumping effect, as I have tried similar products in the past without much success. However, the Heat gloss balm surprised me. It gave my lips a subtle plumping effect without feeling uncomfortable or sticky.

Comparison to Other Glosses

I must mention that I have been favoring other lip glosses lately, but the Fenty Beauty glosses have definitely impressed me. They have a similar texture to the lifter glosses that I own, and the applicator makes it easy to apply the product. However, I do have to be careful not to apply too much, as it can feel a bit thick and goopy on the lips. Nevertheless, with a little bit of caution, I have been able to achieve a beautiful, glossy look.

The Fenty Glow Cream

I didn’t need much, but the pink shade called Dragonfly caught my attention. It’s a sheer pink with some shimmer that I can’t resist. This particular shade is from the Fenty Glow collection, which reminds me of the very first Gloss Bomb that was ever released. Now, they’ve introduced it in a cream form, and I couldn’t wait to try it out. The color is a warm, pinky peach that I absolutely love. What’s great about it is that it’s more opaque than the usual glosses. It can easily stand alone as a lip color, without the need for layering it up with another lipstick or lip liner. This alone makes it worth trying.

The Clear Gloss – Heat

In this holiday blush and lip sets at Sephora, there is also a clear gloss called Heat. At first, I was a little disappointed because I thought it would just be a clear gloss without any color. But after playing with it for a few weeks, I’ve come to appreciate its unique qualities. This gloss has a plumping effect on the lips. Although it doesn’t provide any visible color, I can feel a tingling sensation when I apply it. It’s not as painful as some other lip plumpers I’ve tried, but it does give a slight burning feeling. However, this discomfort is worth it because it truly does plump my lips. As it sits on my lips, it brings out a natural color that enhances my overall look.

Holiday Blush & Lip Sets at Sephora… What’s Worth Trying?

Set 1: Lip Plumper Duo

They do truly look fuller when I wear this and I don’t always feel that way about every lip plumper. I use. Sometimes, I’m just like, “it smoothed out the lines”, it’s kind of hard to say this I’m about certain. This is making my lips bigger, even in this amount of time look. This is the only color that’s on – it’s clear – but it’s causing my natural lip color to show more and the lips do just look fuller, little tingle, little burny tingle, but not too painful. I give this set a thumbs up, especially if you like the more natural, muted tones.

Set 2: Rosy Lip Tones

Nothing in here is going too deep and dark lovers of the classic Rosy lip, not a fully nude lip, but a little bit stepped up and more Rosy than that. I think you’ll enjoy these; they’re a nice formula, again a lot like a lifter gloss, but maybe a little bit more of a luxurious packaging design, and I do think if you’re okay with having a little bit of a tingle on the lips. I think you will be impressed by the result from this gloss balm Heat because that’s its truly doing something here – thumbs up for that set. Thank you very much and see. Look I’ve just taken the gloss off. Do my lips not look plumper? I mean, I feel like they really do.

Set 3: Lip Drip Duo

We’ve got another gloss thing. This is a little Duo from Tower 28. It’s called lip drip Duo, cookie butter Edition, a glossy lip Duo inspired by cookie butter features, milky lip jelly and Chestnut, a warm brown with gold Shimmer with a hint of holiday spice. Plus, the best-selling shine on lip jelly and chill to glaze any look.

Tower 28’s lip drip Duo brings a unique twist to the holiday season with its cookie butter Edition. The milky lip jelly provides a luscious shine, while the warm brown shade with gold shimmer adds a touch of holiday glamour. Whether you want a subtle or bold lip look, this lip duo has got you covered.

With the best-selling shine on lip jelly and chill included, you can easily enhance any makeup look with a glaze of glossy perfection. The versatility of this duo makes it a must-have for any beauty enthusiast looking to add a little extra sparkle to their holiday season.

So, if you’re craving a lip set that offers both elegance and holiday magic, give the lip drip Duo by Tower 28 a try. You won’t be disappointed!

Holiday Blush & Lip Sets at Sephora: What’s Worth Trying?

Tower 28 Gloss in the Shade Cashew

When it comes to lip gloss, I’ve always been a bit picky. However, I must admit that Tower 28 Gloss in the shade Cashew has caught my attention. With its warm undertones, this gloss adds a touch of warmth to my complexion. The shimmer is quite subtle, but I can definitely see a hint of the golden shimmer mentioned on the tube. It’s like a jar of cookie butter, although it doesn’t quite smell like it. There’s a slight spice scent, but it’s not overpowering.

The Texture and Feel

Compared to other glosses, I find the texture of this gloss to be a bit thinner, which is actually quite nice. Once I apply it to my lips, it feels incredibly comfortable. It’s almost like a treatment for my lips rather than just a regular gloss. In contrast, the Fenty gloss I usually wear feels thicker and more moisturizing. Both have their own merits, but I appreciate the lightweight feel of the Tower 28 gloss.

The Color Standalone

The shade Cashew is truly beautiful and can easily stand alone. It gives my lips a natural flush of color that I find very appealing. I can imagine this shade looking even prettier when paired with a deeper lip liner. But even on its own, it’s enough to make me feel content. However, I must admit that I’m a little disappointed that the partner in this set is just a clear gloss.

Shine on Lip Jelly in Chill

Okay, I know some people love a clear gloss, but if I’m just getting two again, this is the shine on lip jelly in chill. Let’s just apply. Its smell is quite intriguing. It must be the regular scent that these have. I can’t tell if it’s the teeniest bit coconuty, or maybe just nutty in general – it’s hard to pinpoint. As for the gloss itself, it’s just sitting on top of my natural lips, and there’s nothing wrong with that. However, I can’t help but think that it feels thinner than this formula. I’m not sure what that’s about, but I could go either way on this set. I do like this gloss formula; I think it’s nice. But given the fact that it only comes in this shade and then just the clear gloss, I’m not really jumping up and down for it. However, if we’re thinking about gifting, I do think it’s a safe set to give someone. The shade is very easy and wearable. Anybody can handle a clear gloss, and you can top off other lip looks with the clear gloss as well. It’s not mandatory to wear it alone. So, yes, it’s definitely giftable. However, for my own personal preference, I’m still in the middle on it. I don’t love it as much as the Fenty set.

Final Thoughts on the Fenty Set

The last kit I have to talk about here is one I had no knowledge of before – the Fenty set. I must admit, I’m quite intrigued by it. I’ve never tried anything from Fenty before, so this is a new experience for me.

Gloss Bombs from Fenty

One of these I had tried the gloss bombs from Fenty before I had tried Tower 28, but these I did not quite know what I was getting into. I just knew these seemed very hyped up on Tik Tok um, so its the lit butter, balm theyre, giving you vanilla, vanilla, beige, brown, sugar and Poppy theyre little .16, o tubes and they dont feel empty.

The Blush Tape Set

To me, I say that, because I was critical of a tart blush set that I reviewed earlier in the season that really felt empty. The blush tape set that was kind of a thumbs down, but lets try these on and try to show you.

Vanilla Lip Balm

This is vanilla. So I am smelling subtle, vanilla scent and I will say that texture is really good, its Rich thick, but not sticky, not greasy, all out Comfort on the lips. This is the perfect timing. After you tried on some various things, youve been wiping your lips off with a makeup wipe. Now you want that soothing balm on top, and this vanilla is just clear: okay, so youre getting your clear and given that its a very, like, I think, treatment, oriented product Im, fine with having a colorless one in there, it says, apply as needed throughout the day Whenever lips need extra, hydration can be used under or over lipstick, trying to think what it reminds me of in texture Persona Day mask a little bit similar to that.

Vanilla Beige Lip Balm

Okay, so let’s move on to the vanilla beige. This shade has a slightly deeper tone compared to the clear vanilla balm. It still provides the same level of comfort and hydration. It’s perfect for those who prefer a hint of color on their lips without going too bold. The vanilla beige balm is versatile and can be worn alone or layered with other lip products.

Brown Sugar Lip Balm

Now, let’s talk about the brown sugar lip balm. This shade adds a beautiful warm brown tint to your lips. It’s perfect for creating a natural, everyday look. The formula remains consistent with the previous shades, offering a rich and nourishing texture. The brown sugar lip balm is a great option if you want to add a touch of color to your lips while still keeping it subtle.

Poppy Lip Balm

Last but not least, we have the poppy lip balm. This shade is a vibrant red, perfect for making a statement. The formula provides the same level of comfort and hydration as the other shades. It’s a great option for those special occasions when you want your lips to stand out. The poppy lip balm adds an instant pop of color and completes your holiday makeup look.

The holiday blush and lip sets at Sephora offer a range of beautiful shades to choose from. Whether you prefer a clear balm, a subtle tint, or a bold color, there is something for everyone. The texture and formula of these lip balms are top-notch, providing comfort and hydration throughout the day. Don’t miss out on trying these holiday sets for a perfect festive look!

Shade 1: Caramelly Colored Bliss

I know I’ve heard this shade raved about, and so this I should have shown you coming out of the tube what it looked like. See how it’s a little bit like caramelly colored. Oh, the scent on that seems even more apparent to me somehow, like just sweeter. I like that. I know my lips have a little more color, naturally, than they might normally have, given that I’ve been trying on some other stuff, but that’s pretty. There’s a nice glossy shine and just this cushiony feel on the lips. A nice amount of moisture – and I like the shade. I feel like yeah, I could throw that on midday and feel like dang. My lips look great, not necessarily screaming for an additional product.

Shade 2: The Sweetness of Brown Sugar

Now we move on to Brown Sugar, the one in the kind of plummy tube. So this is what this looks like just squeezed out. It looks brown, ooh. I feel like we’ve just gotten progressively sweeter with the scent of each one. Oh man, I love this color. More richness on the lips, but still feeling like a neutral deep but brownish, deep, not berry deep. These are sweatpants kind of lip colors. You know. I said that about Neutrogena moisture, smooth color sticks sweatpants of lip colors. These are the sweatpants of holiday kits so far like this is nice and I’m a sampler kind of girl. I love love the chance to just sample these different shades, rather than just having to purchase the one full size.

The Final

So, after trying out these holiday blush & lip sets at Sephora, here is the . The caramelly colored shade offers a natural pop of color with a glossy shine and cushiony feel on the lips. It provides a nice amount of moisture and is perfect for a midday touch-up. On the other hand, the Brown Sugar shade brings richness to the lips with its deep and brownish hue. It is a versatile shade that can be worn as a neutral and is perfect for those who prefer a more subtle lip color.

Overall, these sets are great for those who love sampling different shades without committing to a full-size product. With their sweet scent and comfortable formula, they are like the sweatpants of holiday kits, offering both comfort and style to your makeup routine. So, why not treat yourself to some holiday blush and lip sets from Sephora and elevate your makeup game this festive season?

HOLIDAY BLUSH & LIP SETS at SEPHORA… What’s Worth Trying?

Poppy: A Bright and Fruity Surprise

This last one is called poppy. So this one appears to be brighter. I have been experimenting more with these and this one I haven’t actually worn yet so let’s see what she looks like out of the tube. Ooh, looks truly orange, but mixing with the tone of your own lip, I think, we’re going to see more red. And it smells just a little more like fruity than the others. The others had a straight up sweetness about them, ranging from vanilla to the brown sugar. I love how I am seeing some color from that. A soft, sheer effortless red is kind of the weight of my heart. This is the last thing I’m putting on my lips and it’s staying there. I enjoy that so much um gosh. I would have to give this a thumbs up. These were fun to try.

Beautiful Cushiony Soft Subtle Combination

I was eager to test them, given the hype and I think they’re a beautiful cushiony soft subtle in the color department, but still make your lips look so full and pillowy and beautiful. You know I say to this kit thumbs up glad. I tried it so the full thumbs up in this video were the summer Fridays lip kit, the Fenty gloss, balm kit and the Lys blush Trio.

Not Total Duds, but Not Essential Either

As far as the others I talked about the tower 28 and the rare Beauty, those weren’t total Duds at all. They just didn’t feel as essential and wonderful to me. So I’d love to hear your take in the comments section on these sets.

Overall, the Tower 28 Gloss in the shade Cashew is a worthy addition to my lip gloss collection. Its warm undertones and subtle shimmer add a touch of warmth to my complexion.
