Since I’m already filming, I thought it would be a great opportunity to do a full face makeup tutorial using the 10 affordable drugstore products I recently discovered. Why not? It’s been a while since I’ve done a video like this.
No Primer? No Problem!
In a shocking turn of events, I must confess that I don’t have any primer on today. Instead, I’ve only applied my vitamin C serum and SPF. Interestingly, I’ve been using this combination as a base for my makeup, and it has worked wonders in making my makeup stay put. Strangely enough, I prefer applying it underneath my makeup rather than over it. Surprisingly, this serum costs around $10, which is quite affordable.
The Challenge of Finding the Right Shade
Currently, I have self-tanner on my skin. Specifically, I’m using the Lawless tanning water which has become one of my favorites. However, due to my current shade, I believe that the Glossier foundation shade I normally use will be too dark. The medium two shade appears quite dark, and even for my tanner complexion, I probably should have opted for a couple of shades lighter. To balance it out, I might mix in the Maybelline skin tint to achieve a better match.

This is in the shade 120, which will definitely be too light right now. Uh, oh dont, come out Sun. I thought we were going to have a good cloudy filming day, its actually way better to film in the clouds when youre filming in natural light, not the sun, of course, its been like cloudy in Seattle for like 4 days. So I think Im just going to do a little mixo on the face. The glossier foundation has has a lot of coverage. I am still testing it. So Im not sure my thoughts yet but Ive been liking. It. It just has a lot of coverage like more coverage than Ive been going for. Lately, you mix foundations, you can do it on like a palette. Iy is the back of a Bath, and Body Works. Candle comment: if youve been here for that long or you can kind of mix it on your face like Im, doing and then go in and blend so now that it is a drying going.
Maybelline Lasting Power
Take my sponge, the Maybelline lasts really well on the skin, especially in combination with that setting spray forgot to tan my ears, so hello for my pale ears were Foundation up. I feel like combos looking nice, not like insanely good, but its looking nice Im going to use my NYX clear brow gel just brush up the front a little bit Im still testing this one.
Concealer Testing
So I want to use it today, its the makeup by Mario cereal skin Awakening concealer in the shade 160 Im testing a bunch of different concealers right now and this one I just feel like wait.
Testing the New Under $10 Products
I need a closer mirror like this one. I just need to keep testing. I’m going to let it sit on for like 30 seconds. Soon, we are going to get into the new under $10 products. But, they just happen to all not be at the beginning of the routine.
Bioma Melting Bomm Cleanser
You know, while that’s sitting, though, I did pick up this Bioma Melting Bomm Cleanser. I think this had good reviews. I was very drawn to the packaging. It’s like a cute little square. Just picture this sitting on your vanity. And I like that it’s lightweight. I brought it down a little far and it is looking a little cakey right here. But also, I have this like healing kind of burn right here, so it might just be that.
Cream Blush
For cream blush, I’m going to mix the NYX Sweet Cheeks with the Halo Glow Blush Wand. This is in the shade Rosy Soul. I like using this more as a blush topper kind of highlight. But I want to mix these two before I apply. I haven’t done that yet. It might be too much. Uh-oh, it’s drying really fast.
Blending and Patchiness
Okay, I’m not loving the way those are mixing. Maybe it would be different if I did it ahead of time, like on my hand. I mean, I’m going to go in with my sponge and just blend that out because it’s gotten a little intense on this side and also is just looking a little patchy, which is definitely not what I expected.
Product 1: Colourpop Highlighting Stick (Under $10)
I’m going to continue blending once I do the other things, but what are we 10 minutes into the video – and I am just now doing the first product under $10, but just how it worked out. So this is the Colourpop sticks, light in the shade glazy. This had really good reviews, and this is a highlighting stick. I’m doing this before bronzer because I am using powder bronzers. I like that it’s not too icy; it’s like a light champagne, but it doesn’t have a super cool undertone.
Product 2: Essence Snowflake Eyeshadow (Past Highlighter)
Has anyone been here since the Essence Snowflake days? I used to use an Essence eyeshadow in the shade snowflake as my highlighter. It was one of the few light white highlighters available. Oh, that looks cute as a nose highlight too. Yeah, that’s a good nose highlighter.
Product 3: LA Girl Lustrious Bronzer
Okay, loving that on the nose and the face. It looks more highlighted on this side, just because that’s the direction that more light is coming in right now. I actually have two bronzers. I could not choose, so I think I’m going to do one on either side and just try to make it look even. These are both brand new, so there’s the LA Girl Lustrious bronzer. It looks like one that you kind of swirl the two shades.
Product 4: Covergirl Clean, Fresh Radiant Loose Powder (Bronzer Shade)
This one I’m really excited to try. This is new from Covergirl, it’s their clean, fresh radiant loose powder in just the shade bronzer.
01. Sun kissed
This loose powder bronzer is not my usual preference due to the need for careful blending. Without proper blending, these types of bronzers can appear patchy. However, the tone of this bronzer looks promising.
Pro tip: Tweezers for Nail Protection
If you have freshly done nails and want to avoid smudging, use tweezers to remove any seals or packaging without touching the product with your fingertips.
The Bronzer Application
Upon removing the packaging, I discovered a thin cheap plastic cover instead of the usual seal. This is worth noting to avoid any surprises. Now, let’s proceed to apply the bronzer. I’m using my powder brush, which I also like to use for bronzer.
When using bronzers like this one, it is essential to ensure that the brush is evenly coated. I recommend swirling the product on the brush to distribute it evenly. The bronzer has a radiant effect that becomes more noticeable in direct sunlight.
Hold on, let me readjust the camera to capture the radiance under sunlight. Okay, now that we are out of the direct light, I can say that I appreciate the tone of the bronzer. However, I’m not a fan of how radiant it appears.
Glowy Bronzer + Highlighter
I mean it’s very glowy. Like it does look a little bit like a highlighter, almost. It does say it’s radiant, but like it’s radiant. So this one is also supposed to be more of a glowy bronzer. I wipe off the brush, so I’m just going to swirl the two. Which one do you think? I like the tone of this one more and this side looks radiant without being quite as much like a highlighter. I would use the Covergirl again, but I don’t not like it that much, but just be warned, it is glowy. Adding a little more of the LA Girl on this side. I will say the packaging on this. It doesn’t screw on. So this is weird, it just kind of like comes off here. There’s no screwage, it just slides on and off.
Favorite Eye Primer
I use my favorite eye primer, the Anastasia. So in my last 10 under 10 video, the eyeshadow palette was a total winner and became a favorite. We’ve got another 10 palette. This is a limited edition by Wet n Wild, it’s their holiday Fox Trot. I usually love Wet n Wild eyeshadow palettes, so I’m excited to try this one. The palette is giving me holiday vibes. I like the arrangement of colors here. I could do without this glitter for sure because it looks like just a pressed loose glitter, which I’m not a fan of, but everything else looks pretty. I’m thinking we might do soft neutral golds on the lid and then maybe some of the greens on the lower lash line and tie it in with the shirt.
Get Ready with Me!
Now that we have our glowy bronzer and eyeshadow palette ready, it’s time to get ready with me! I’ll start by prepping my skin with a moisturizer and primer. Then, I’ll apply my foundation using a brush, blending it evenly all over my face. To add some warmth and dimension, I’ll use the glowy bronzer we discussed earlier. With a light hand, I’ll apply it to my cheekbones, temples, and jawline for a subtle sun-kissed look.
Next, it’s time to play with the eyeshadow palette. I’ll use the soft neutral gold shades on my eyelids, creating a shimmering base. Then, I’ll take one of the greens and apply it to my lower lash line, adding a pop of color. To complete the eye look, I’ll apply mascara to my lashes, making them long and voluminous.
For the final touches, I’ll fill in my eyebrows using a brow pencil and set them in place with a clear eyebrow gel. Then, I’ll apply a natural-looking blush to my cheeks and a nude lipstick to my lips. Lastly, I’ll spritz some setting spray all over my face to ensure my makeup lasts throughout the day.

Shade Selection and Application
So this shade looks like it has a little glitter in it, which I don’t love because this is the shade that you would use for the crease. Normally, you actually can’t see the glitter once you blend it out. I’m going to take this light gold shade on the lid with my finger first. It doesn’t have too much of an orange undertone, which is great because I prefer cool-toned golds. Some gold shades tend to pull really orange, and that’s a pet peeve of mine. Thankfully, this gold shade has a nice undertone and doesn’t appear too orange.
Ulta Beauty Glitter Cream Eyeshadow
Another affordable product under $10 that we’re going to try is the Ulta Beauty Glitter Cream Eyeshadow in the shade “Far Out.” I’m hoping this shade will give us a real metallic look. Wow, there we go! It has a nice undertone and is definitely more of a yellow gold. I really like the undertone of this one, so I’m bringing it up into the crease, stopping right at the crease line.
When you layer a lot of these types of products, they can become crusty, dry, and do not want to blend well. However, this one layered totally fine, and look at how freaking metallic it is!
Creating a Soft Look
I don’t want to use anything darker on the outer portion of my eye because I want to achieve a really soft look up there. Instead, I’m going to take the green shade. Both of these shades are shimmery.

Discovering the Perfect Lip Liner
They did have a few different shades. I think I just went by their little swatches on there or, like the lip photos. I just wiped off the lip balm that I had on. Okay, this is the Nyx retractable lip liner in the shade sand beige. Oh, this looks like a good color. I feel like this is going to be a really pretty everyday kind of liner.
A Pleasant Surprise
Im not going to completely fill it in, because I want to see that lip oil. I see myself getting a lot of use out of that tone, hoping this doesnt have like a super fruity scent its like that nice big plushy kind of curved applicator. It smells like peppermint hallelujah, oh my God. I love that love a minty lip product and theyre rare theres, not that many o loving that its not as glossy as some other lip oils. Like the sheen, I mean its definitely has a Sheen for sure trying to get it, so it like hits the light right. Doesnt have as much of a glossy finish as like some of my other lip oils and clear glosses and stuff, but it is very comfortable feeling doesnt feel too oily just feels very moisturizing and comfortable love.
