Five Below Skin Care: Love It or Leave It?

Five Below Skin Care: Love It or Leave It?

Introduction

As the year comes to a close, many of us are looking for ways to take care of our skin and maintain that healthy glow. Skin care routines have become increasingly popular, and with a wide range of products available in the market, it can be overwhelming to find the right one. Five Below, a popular store known for its affordable products, has entered the skincare game. But the question remains is Five Below skin care worth the hype? Let’s dive in and find out.

Exploring Five Below

We are continuing the store shopping experiments where I go in store and see if I’m able to find good quality, affordable skincare, and this time, I’m going to be trying a store that I’ve actually never shopped at before. I’ve heard so much about Five Below, but there are no Five Belows in Hawaii. I’m here in Denver, Colorado, and I’ve heard that they have skincare and cosmetics at Five Below, so we’re going to go check it out and see if we can create a good quality skincare routine.

Entering Five Below

It is really cute in here, so preppy in here. The whole concept of Five Below is that it’s 5 and under. I think, do you know actually, no, never been. My assumption is that it’s kind of similar to Dollar General, so my goal today is to be able to build a complete skincare routine with the four most important steps: cleanser, moisturizer, serum, and sunscreen. I’m really interested to see if I can find all of them, which I think I’ll be able to find the first three, but sunscreen is the kicker because it’s very, very hard to find a sunscreen that is less than $5 or even just $5. But let’s check out what they have.

Discovering Simo Products

Oh my gosh, you guys, they have Simo products. I have not talked about Sam Wiis since I did a video review on them when Liak Koshi partnered with them. They’re a really good brand.

Introduction:

Five Below Skin Care: Love It or Leave It?

Gentle Cleansing:

Five Below offers a range of affordable skin care products with good ingredients. One such product is their gentle cleansing solution. Although I haven’t tried it myself, the ingredients seem promising. However, it seems more like a Micellar water rather than an actual cleanser. While this may be disappointing for those looking for a traditional cleanser, it still offers an interesting alternative.

Sunscreen Surprise:

To my surprise, Five Below also offers a mineral sunscreen. Finding a good, affordable sunscreen can be challenging, but they seem to have cracked the code. Their gentle mineral sunscreen lotion contains zinc oxide and is fragrance-free. This is a rare find, especially considering it’s available at Five Below. The fact that they have multiple sunscreen options, including some familiar brands like Banana Boat, is also impressive.

Facial Ice Globe:

Another intriguing product I stumbled upon at Five Below is the facial ice globe. If you haven’t used one before, let me tell you, it’s amazing. These ice globes can be incredibly helpful, particularly when you’re dealing with eye puffiness, especially after a night of drinking. Personally, I wake up with heavy bags under my eyes after a night out, and using a facial ice globe helps reduce the puffiness significantly. I assume the price of this product is under $5, adding to its appeal.

:

Five Below offers an array of skin care products that may surprise you. From a Micellar-like gentle cleanser to an affordable mineral sunscreen, they seem to be catering to diverse needs. While there are some chemical sunscreens among their options, the fact that they provide alternatives is commendable. Additionally, the availability of a facial ice globe further adds to their collection. Whether you’ll love Five Below skin care or not is subjective, but their range of products and affordable prices make it worth checking out.

Five Below Skin Care: Love It or Leave It?

Sheet Masks Galore

When it comes to sheet masks, Five Below has got you covered. They offer a wide range of options, including some adorable sheep masks and even a Froot Loops-inspired mask. While the waste associated with sheet masks may turn some people off, the temptation to try a mask that smells like Froot Loops is undeniable. Whether you want to pamper your face or even your backside with a butt mask, Five Below has something for everyone in their sheet mask collection.

Hydrocolloid Patches and More

In addition to sheet masks, Five Below also carries hydrocolloid patches that can be super helpful for acne-prone individuals. These patches work to absorb excess oil and reduce inflammation, making them a great addition to your skincare routine. Plus, if you’re in the market for a good old ass mask, Five Below has you covered with their variety of body masks. From head to toe, you can find all your skincare needs at Five Below.

A Blast from the Past: Freeman Face Masks

If you’re feeling nostalgic for some classic skincare products, Five Below has your back. They offer Freeman face masks, which may bring back memories of your early skincare days. Freeman was likely one of the first skincare brands you ever tried, and now you can revisit those familiar products at a budget-friendly price. With a range of options, from clay masks to peel-off masks, you can indulge in a little nostalgia while pampering your skin.

While Five Below may not offer the most high-end or groundbreaking skincare products, it does provide an affordable and accessible option for those looking to expand their skincare routine. From sheet masks that smell like Froot Loops to tried-and-true favorites like Freeman face masks, Five Below has something for everyone. So, whether you love it or prefer to leave it, it’s worth giving Five Below skincare a try.

The Limited Selection

I must say, Five Below’s skin care range leaves much to be desired. It seems that they have a decent collection of Freeman products, which are quite popular among skincare enthusiasts. However, upon closer inspection, it becomes apparent that the selection falls short of expectations.

Noxa: A Harsh Choice

One of the brands available at Five Below is Noxa. It is important to note that Noxa can be quite tense and harsh on the skin. For those seeking gentle and soothing options, this brand may not be the best choice. It would be wise to steer clear of Noxa if you prioritize the well-being of your skin.

A Lack of Variety

While Five Below impresses with its wide range of makeup products, it is disheartening to see the limited options for skincare. As I peruse the shelves, I can’t help but notice the absence of serums or moisturizers essential components of any skincare routine. It’s perplexing how a store with such an extensive selection doesn’t seem to prioritize these vital products.

Frustration and Disappointment

As I continue my search, it becomes increasingly clear that my hopes of finding a suitable serum or moisturizer at Five Below are dwindling. The only aeno product available is face scrubs, which fails to meet my expectations. To make matters worse, the skincare section seems to offer little more than disappointment and frustration.

The End of the Road

At this point, I fear that I have reached a dead end. It seems that Five Below’s skincare range may be sorely lacking in the products I require. I can only hope that they are currently sold out or facing high demand, which would explain their absence. Though the store boasts an array of products, the absence of essential skincare items such as serums and moisturizers leaves much to be desired.

A Few Consolations

Despite the disappointments, I must acknowledge that Five Below does offer a few skincare options. Alongside the sunscreen, I manage to find a cleanser and an ice cube (not the frozen kind, unfortunately). While these products are a small solace, they do little to make up for the absence of more vital skincare items.

Five Below’s skin care range raises concerns and leaves much to be desired. The lack of variety and availability of harsh products may make one question the store’s commitment to effective and gentle skincare. It is clear that for those seeking a well-rounded skincare routine, Five Below may not be the most reliable option.

The Facial Cube

Upon entering Five Below, I embarked on a seemingly endless search for the elusive Facial Cube. With my trusty videographer, Aldo, by my side, we scoured every inch of the store, scouring the shelves in hopes of finding this mysterious product. Alas, our efforts proved fruitless, but undeterred, I decided to purchase some other products and bring them home for a thorough test. Brace yourself, for I shall reveal my honest opinions on these Five Below skin care items.

Facial Globe

Hello, my dear readers! It’s been a week since I embarked on my quest for the Five Below skin care products, and now I find myself back in beautiful Hawaii. Fear not, for I brought these products with me in my trusty suitcase. Today, in the serene morning hours, I have decided to finally put these products to the test.

The first product that catches my eye is the Facial Globe. Intriguing, isn’t it? I ensured that this little gem has been chilling in the refrigerator for a refreshing 24 hours. The first thing that captivates me is the presence of glitter. As someone with a gay and loving heart, this touch of sparkle brings me immense joy. Additionally, the small grippy thing attached to it is surprisingly satisfying.

This morning’s puffiness under my eyes calls for some serious attention, and I’m hopeful that this Facial Globe will come to my rescue. I apply it to my under-eye area and the coolness instantly soothes my skin. Some may dismiss cooling Globes as a passing trend, but I am genuinely fond of them. Although I don’t religiously incorporate them into my daily routine, I must admit that the idea behind them appeals to me.

My only regret is not getting two of these Facial Globes. Simultaneously treating both eyes would have been a delightful experience. Nevertheless, this little beaut truly helps reduce puffiness in the mornings, and I appreciate its subtle yet effective touch.

Love It or Leave It?

Now, my dear readers, as we delve further into the realm of Five Below skin care products, the burning question arises: should we love them or leave them?

While my experience with the Facial Cube and Facial Globe has been promising, it’s important to approach Five Below skin care with caution. As with any budget-friendly product line, quality and efficacy may vary. Some products may surprise us with their effectiveness, while others may fall short of our expectations.

Ultimately, the decision to love or leave Five Below skin care lies in the hands of the individual consumer. It’s a personal journey, one that requires exploration, trial, and error. Only through this process can we determine whether Five Below skin care truly deserves a spot on our bathroom shelves.

So, my fellow skincare enthusiasts, I urge you to embark on your own Five Below adventure. Explore the array of products, test them out, and let your own experience guide you. Whether you fall head over heels or choose to bid adieu, may your skincare journey be filled with discovery and self-care. Happy exploring!

The Cooling Globes

As someone who has perpetually very puffy eyes, I first of all need all the help I can get and by no means do cooling Globes like completely transform your face. Nor do I use them super frequently, but I’m not going to lie these bad boys do come in handy just to help reduce that little bit of puffiness.

For some reason, let me know if you guys experienced the same thing, the puffiness on my under eye area takes a long time to go down like I woke up like 5 hours ago and my eyes still have a little bit of puffiness left to them. So hopefully this will help to soothe and reduce that. But as far as cooling ice gloves, I think this is a great one like should you be spending any more than like 10 15 on Ice Globes, no they’re, very simple and easy to make. I mean it’s literally plastic overall, pretty gentle experience that I like.

The Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Cleansing Gel

Okay, now that we’re done with that let’s move on to the cleanser, and this is the Neutrogena Hydro Boost hydrating cleansing gel. I believe I have used this one, I think at least once in the past, maybe a few times. I don’t know it’s been so long that I don’t really remember so I’m over.

If we trying it again, I will say for the amount that this cost you’re not getting a lot of cleanser. This is definitely like something that would be good for travel if you don’t want to take up a lot of space, but when it comes to actual like being for your buck, this isn’t necessarily giving.

Is Five Below Skin Care Worth a Try?

When it comes to skincare products, the options seem endless. The shelves of stores like Target, CVS, and Walmart are packed with different brands and formulations. So, is it worth trying the Five Below skin care line? Let’s take a closer look at one of their cleansers.

A Cleanser for Combination and Oily Skin

The Five Below cleanser seems to be more suitable for those with combination or oily skin. It doesn’t contain harsh cleansing agents that can strip the skin, but it does have ingredients that are better suited for oilier skin types.

An Issue with Fragrance

One aspect of this cleanser that I’m not particularly fond of is the fragrance. While it’s not overpowering, the scent is difficult to describe. It has a perfumey aroma that may not be to everyone’s liking. For those who are sensitive to fragrances, it might be better to opt for the fragrance-free version of the Hydro Boost cleanser.

A Tolerable Experience

While I’m not going to open my eyes during the cleansing process (as I anticipate some irritation), overall, my skin feels good after using this cleanser. It does, however, leave my skin slightly drier than I prefer. This indicates that it may be better suited for those with excessively oily skin. But would I say it’s an unpleasant experience? No, it feels gentle and non-irritating.

A Budget-Friendly Option for Travel

If you happen to stumble upon this cleanser while browsing the aisles of Five Below and you’re in need of a travel-sized option, feel free to give it a try. It may not be my top pick, but for the price point, it’s worth considering.

As with any skincare product, it’s important to consider your own skin type and preferences before making a purchase. If you have dry or sensitive skin, this cleanser may not be the best fit for you. However, if you’re someone with combination or oily skin and you’re looking for an affordable option, it might be worth a shot.

The Issue of Quantity

One of the major concerns with the Five Below Skin Care line is the quantity of product provided for the price. Many customers have expressed their disappointment in the small size of the cleanser in relation to its cost. For those looking to make the most out of their skincare routine, it may be advisable to consider purchasing a larger cleanser elsewhere.

A Worthwhile Serum

While the options at Five Below may be limited, one product that stands out is the I unique tea tree relief serum. This serum is particularly beneficial for individuals with oily skin, especially during hot and humid weather conditions. Its ability to reduce excess oiliness is appreciated by those who live in climates where sweat is a constant nuisance. Additionally, the lightweight formula allows for comfortable wear on the skin, a quality often associated with Korean skincare products.

Unsolved Razor Burn Mystery

One perplexing issue that some individuals have experienced is an increase in razor burn on their necks. This can be incredibly frustrating and annoying. While the reason behind this sudden occurrence is unknown, there is hope that the I unique tea tree relief serum may provide some relief. Its soothing properties could potentially alleviate the discomfort associated with razor burn.

A Trusted Moisturizer

When it comes to moisturizing, the O and clean Lotus water cream is a favorite among many. Despite using this moisturizer consistently for an extended period, its effectiveness in hydrating the skin has not wavered. This is especially important in humid climates like Hawaii, where the need for nourishment is heightened due to the environmental conditions. If you’re in search of a reliable moisturizer, this may be one worth considering.

The Cleanser

One of the standout products from the Five Below skin care line is the cleanser. It promises to leave your skin with a healthy glow without any trace of oiliness or greasiness. Many users have praised this cleanser for its effectiveness, and it seems to be a favorite among many. If you’re looking for a simple yet effective cleanser, this might be the one for you.

The Products

In today’s video, the YouTuber mentions that all the products used will be linked in the description box for those interested in checking them out. Five Below offers a range of products, including the gentle mineral lotion with SPF 30 sunscreen. This particular product contains zinc oxide, a beloved sunscreen ingredient known for its sun protection qualities. Additionally, the lotion includes grapefruit extracts, which are rich in antioxidants, perfect for protecting your skin throughout the day.

The Year that Was

This year has been a challenging one for many, and the YouTuber acknowledges this fact. The whole world is collectively struggling, and it’s safe to say that not many people are thriving in 2023. However, as the year draws to a close, there is some solace in the upcoming holiday season. The hope is that the holiday spirit can uplift our collective spirits and usher in a better year ahead in 2024.

The Sunscreen Game: Affordable or Disappointing?

The first thing that comes to mind when it comes to sunscreen is the price. Often, the cheaper options provide a less pleasant experience. So, naturally, when I saw the surprisingly affordable price of the Five Below sunscreen, I was skeptical. I had a feeling that this could be a heavy sunscreen with a white cast, especially since it claims to be water resistant. And indeed, it is thick, but surprisingly, the white cast seems to be fading a bit. Maybe it won’t be as heavy as I expected. Let’s see how it goes.

A Greasy Experience

As I apply the sunscreen and see it on my skin, I can’t help but think it’s going to be a greasy experience. Even though it rubs into my skin relatively well, the shine is undeniable. It appears to be a very hydrating sunscreen, which could be a good thing for some, but unfortunately, it’s not my favorite. The heaviness of the product is just too much for my liking. It’s way too greasy, and that’s a deal-breaker for me.

A Beach Essential

Despite its drawbacks for a facial sunscreen, I can see the potential of using this product for a day at the beach. Its ability to give a nice glow without a heavy white cast and its water resistance make it a great option for the body. So, next time I’m heading out for some outdoor activities, I will definitely bring this sunscreen along. However, I wouldn’t recommend it as a daily facial sunscreen unless you have dry skin and don’t mind the greasiness.

Overall, the Five Below sunscreen is a mixed bag. While it offers affordability and some positive aspects for body application, it falls short as a facial sunscreen due to its greasiness. So, whether you love it or leave it, ultimately depends on your personal preferences and needs.

Five Below Skin Care Sunscreen: Surprisingly Impressive

But you know what hey for the price point and granted that its two fluid ounces thats actually like a pretty good amount of product for how low the price is – and I am judging this compared to like the normal face – sunscreens I prefer to use. But overall, this really isnt too bad. I was expecting so much worse and I feel like if youre someone who has dry skin, you would really enjoy this product just for like the amount of glowi that it gives.

Great for Kids: No More White Cast Struggles

I feel like its sinking into my skin, like a little bit better, thankfully its not too tacky or sticky. Honestly, Im kind of impressed with this one – and I actually feel like this – would be a great fit for, like kids, if youre a parent who needs to apply sunscreen on your kids, but its so frustrating because typically it’ll be a crazy white cast and they keep Squirming trying to get out of your hands when youre applying it. This would be awesome because it does blend into the skin relatively quickly.

Viva Spa Facial Cooling Globe: A Luxurious Addition

So what are my overall thoughts on this five below skincare, routine? First up the Viva Spa facial cooling Globe. I think this is great its by no means necessary in the skincare routine, but it can make the skin care routine, really enjoyable.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Cleanser: Travel-Friendly

The Neutrogena Hydro Boost cleanser. I prefer the fragrance-free option and I don’t love the size, but if you’re looking for an easy travel cleanser its a fine one to use so I’d say this is like a uh, okay recommendation.

The Five Below Skin Care Experience

When it comes to affordable skin care options, Five Below has managed to surprise me. Despite some minor shortcomings, their sunscreen and seoa products have proven to be a good choice for those on a budget. Not only do they offer affordable prices, but the experience of using their products is quite satisfactory.

A Glowing Recommendation

After trying out Five Below’s skin care products, I can confidently say that they are worth considering. Although I may need to apply some powder on my face to control the glow they give me, I still believe that they offer great value for the price. In fact, I am planning to bring them along on my next beach trip.

Room for Improvement

While I had an overall positive experience with Five Below’s skin care range, I did have a few reservations. The store I visited seemed to have an incomplete stock, with many empty spaces making it difficult to find products. Despite this, I still found their offerings to be surprisingly impressive.

Discovering More Options

If you are familiar with Five Below or have found other skin care products there, please feel free to comment below. I am always interested in learning about different types of products they have to offer. Although my local Five Below store may have been lacking, I believe there is potential for even more exciting options.

An Unexpected Shopping Experience

My visit to Five Below was a pleasant surprise. The store itself has a cute and inviting atmosphere, and I regret not discovering it sooner. While I would still recommend other stores for your skin care needs, Five Below is not the worst place to shop. If you are searching for a more affordable experience, you may very well find what you’re looking for here.

Note: All the products I used in today’s video will be linked in the description box below. I am eager to hear your thoughts on Five Below as a retailer.
