Skincare Swaps

When I decided to switch to more natural products, it was a decision based on my health. My hormones were all over the place, and I knew that the chemicals in my skincare products were not helping. I started by swapping out my harsh cleansers for gentle, natural options like a coconut oil-based cleanser. This simple change made a big difference in the way my skin looked and felt.

Moisturizing Magic

Another essential swap for me was finding a natural moisturizer that would hydrate my skin without clogging pores. I discovered a beautiful blend of organic oils like jojoba and rosehip that left my skin feeling nourished and healthy. It was a relief to find a product that worked as well as, if not better than, my old moisturizer without any harmful chemicals.

Body Love

My journey to clean beauty also extended to my body care routine. I found a natural body lotion made with shea butter and essential oils that kept my skin smooth and soft. The switch to a cleaner body lotion not only benefited my skin but also gave me peace of mind knowing that I was avoiding unnecessary toxins.

Moisturizing Marvels: Body Essentials

When it comes to taking care of my skin, moisturizing is a non-negotiable step in my beauty routine. One of my favorite finds is the W Skin Food body lotion. Despite not being a fan of its scent, the hydrating benefits it provides make it a staple in my collection. Plus, it’s budget-friendly, which is always a bonus.

Organic Elegance: Coconut Oil Goodness

Another gem in my beauty essentials is organic coconut oil. Whether I’m using it as a body moisturizer, a hair conditioner, or even a cooking ingredient, this versatile product never fails to impress. The Groovy Food Company’s version is my go-to, and the natural coconut scent is simply divine.

My Clean Beauty Essentials

Next up, we have my face. A big thing for me was Foundation, something that I use on my face pretty much every day. These days, I have found that I am enjoying going makeup free a lot more. Even when I do wear makeup, I focus on my eyebrows, eyes, and lips, skipping the foundation. However, I have come across a foundation that I absolutely love – the Ilia super serum skin tint. It provides a light to medium coverage that is buildable, allowing me to achieve a natural look or add more coverage as needed.

Color Matching Experience

I used to religiously use the Mac face and body foundation in the shade st7 Diaz, but I wanted to switch to a cleaner option. When I discovered the Ilia foundation, I was hesitant to purchase it online without trying the shade in person. However, I reached out to their customer service via chat and they helped me match my Mac foundation shade to the closest Ilia shade. I took the risk and ordered it, and I was pleasantly surprised. The recommended shade was a perfect match for me.

Benefits of the Ilia Foundation

The Ilia super serum skin tint not only matches my skin tone perfectly, but it also feels lightweight and comfortable on my skin. I appreciate that it allows me to create different levels of coverage depending on my preference. The buildable formula ensures that I can achieve a natural look or a more polished finish with ease. Plus, knowing that it is a clean beauty product gives me peace of mind about what I am putting on my skin.

Facial Essentials

My favorite foundation recommendation for clean beauty essentials is the Tropic Sunday facial UV defense sunscreen. This sunscreen not only provides protection but also has a natural scent of banana and hibiscus extracts, reminiscent of scratch and sniff stickers from back in the day. Its quick absorption makes it an ideal base for makeup application.

Deodorant Discovery

Finding a natural deodorant that actually works was quite a challenge for me. Most of them either failed to keep me smelling fresh during a workout or had a scent that I couldn’t stand. After extensive trial and error, I finally came across the Tropic Feel Fresh Soothing Deodorant and Antiperspirant Cream, which not only kept me odor-free but also had a pleasant fragrance that I enjoyed.

Pink Grapefruit and Gingergrass Cream Deodorant

This pink grapefruit and gingergrass Essen essal oils looks like this deodorant comes in a cream form, which you squeeze out and apply on your armpits. While the smell may not be my absolute favorite, it is definitely better than other deodorants I have tried so far.

Secretos Del AUA Shampoo

If you are looking for a high-quality shampoo, I would recommend Secretos Del AUA. After working with this brand, I have become obsessed with their products. The formula is beautiful, and it really lives up to its claims. It leaves your hair feeling healthy, thick, and full of life. I even use it on my kids and I couldn’t recommend it enough. It would also make a great gift due to its lovely formula.

Coconut and Argan Oil Shampoo from Scoop Whole Foods

Another fantastic shampoo option is the Coconut and Argan Oil Shampoo from Scoop Whole Foods. This local company not only delivers their products but also handcrafts them, which adds a personal touch to your beauty routine. The blend of coconut and Argan oil in this shampoo leaves your hair feeling nourished and healthy, making it a great addition to your clean beauty essentials.

Coconut Smelling Shampoo

If you live near them or locally, you can just go and fill up your bottle. This is so nice again with the coconut smell. I just love it. It just makes me feel like I’m on holiday. This is a really beautiful formulation as well.

Natural Hair Shampoo

This was the first shampoo that I used that was natural, where I actually felt like my hair was clean. This is the first one I discovered and I haven’t strayed from it since then. I’ve tried others but I always come back to this and I love it. It lasts for ages, it’s quite a big bottle. They do the matching conditioner as well and they have a couple of other flavors which I haven’t actually tried, because I love this one so much.

Recommendations

I will leave it there because I feel like that’s enough to digest if you are just starting on your journey of swapping to more natural things. I really hope that this helps some of you and that you like the recommendations. It’s taking me quite a long time to find ones that I really love so yeah.

Overall, making the switch to clean beauty essentials has been a rewarding experience. It was intimidating at first, but with a little research and trial and error, I found products that I truly love and that support my overall well-being.
