Walking into Ulta, the first thing that caught my eye was the massive Sol de Janeiro display. It was impossible to miss, and I couldn’t help but feel a surge of excitement. The display featured most of the scents from the brand, but there was one missing – the one in the pink bottle. I wondered if Ulta would be getting that scent or if it would remain exclusive to Sephora. It crossed my mind that maybe they would start offering exclusives for each store. Nonetheless, the majority of the products in the Sol de Janeiro line were available at Ulta, except for the 71 Mist, which we’ll come back to later. It’s truly thrilling to see their stuff in stores now, although I am a bit disappointed about the absence of the pink Mist. We’ll just have to wait and see if it eventually arrives or remains a Sephora exclusive.
Spotting the 71 Mist
As I wandered around the store, I stumbled upon another section that had the coveted 71 Mist. Still no sign of the pink one, but that’s alright. The 71 Mist has always been my go-to favorite, so I was delighted to find it there. Rumor has it that they will be releasing a cream version of the 71 Mist this year, and I can’t contain my excitement. I think they have officially confirmed it, and I cannot wait for it to hit the shelves.
New Drugstore Launches
Moving on to the new year’s drugstore launches, I was expecting to find some exciting stuff. However, when I reached the designated section, I was taken aback. Everything seemed to have been cleared out already! How is that even possible? These items had just hit the market, and yet there was nothing left on the shelves. It left me feeling perplexed and wondering what had happened. Were people really that eager to try these new products, or was there some other mysterious reason behind the empty shelves? The curiosity was killing me, but unfortunately, I had no answers.

Camo liquid blushes – These blushes have been going viral for their resemblance to the rare Beauty blushes. Ulta only has two shades left, but they also have a new brush to go with it. Additionally, they have the new camo hydrating CC cream, which will soon undergo a wear test. Personally, I have been enjoying these products so far.
New Drugstore Makeup
Elf products – The elf products were completely sold out, showing their immense popularity. Maybelline, on the other hand, had their new lip plumpers in store. These lip plumpers are intense and even have a little Chili Pepper icon on the bottle. I have a couple of shades from the collection, but I’m a bit scared to try them as they are known to be spicy, according to feedback from customers.
NYX new launches – NYX has a variety of new launches, including the Fat, oil slick click, a product similar to the tart juicy lips. These lip products click up and have a super buttery texture. They are available in shimmer and creamy finishes. The shades “Going viral” and “Link in my bio” are highly recommended and personally loved. They are priced at only $11.
Pro fix stick correcting concealer – On the other side of the spectrum, NYX also offers a new Pro fix stick correcting concealer, perfect for camouflaging any imperfections.

So I did a wear test on this and I actually really liked it. I thought Revlon’s new foundation was nice on the skin. It offers very light coverage, but it wore really well for me. On the other hand, their new serum cheek colors did not work for me. They turned out to be really patchy and I did not enjoy the colors. So, for me, these were a major miss. However, usually, Revlon’s foundation stuff is really great. They make great complexion products.
Too Faced’s Kissing Lips Gloss
Next, we have something new from Too Faced. They just launched these new lip oils, which they’re calling the kissing lips gloss. Technically, it’s a lip oil. They sent these over to me, and I got to try out all the shades. Let me tell you, these shades all look almost clear on the lips, but they have different scents. There’s a cotton candy scent, and my personal favorite is the bubble gum scent. However, there’s really not a huge difference in color. So, with these, you really only need one shade. But I have to say, the formula is actually really great on these. I enjoy them so much that I would definitely recommend picking one up now.
Polite Society’s “I’m Dope in Real Life” Palette
Polite Society has released a new palette with a rather quirky name, “Forget Social Media, I’m Dope in Real Life.” I really don’t understand how they come up with these silly names, but it’s to be expected from the old owners of Too Faced. Anyway, the colors in this palette actually look really pretty. Unfortunately, I cannot show you the photo here, but I can assure you they are worth checking out.

Although I resisted the temptation to buy it right away, I’m excited to see it in-store so I can swatch the shades and form an opinion. However, upon closer inspection, I realized that this palette is mostly neutral shades with just a pop of blue and green. Tarte does neutrals well, but I don’t think I’ll get much use out of this palette. It’s priced at $47, so if you’re curious about it, let me know.

For those who enjoy more earthy scents, Hemp offers a tea tree option as well. However, what caught my attention even more were their new body oils. Available in sweet pineapple and honey melon, these oils promise to provide a delightful sensory experience.

I’ve been seeing a lot of people using the Sol de Janeiro soothing and barrier support serum as their primer, and it caught my interest. The serum comes in a bright pink color, which is really exciting. However, I have been a bit disappointed with Tarte’s palettes in the past, so I decided to take a break from them.
