I love seeing what brands come up with this time of the year. I kind of wait sometimes, if I’m interested in a certain product, because a lot of times you can actually get like multiple shade varieties in many sizes, rather than paying the money for one full-size product.
For example, if I want a liquid blush from Rare Beauty, I usually wait to see if they launch any sort of set during the holidays. That comes with like three minis, rather than buying one full-size blush, because I love mini products. I’m not someone who makes it through tons and tons of full-size makeup products, so if there’s a mini available, especially in multiple shades for the price of one, I’m taking advantage of it.

There is a full-size blush from Say, the “Theyre Due” liquid blush. Although I haven’t tried it personally, I have heard great things about its formula. On the other hand, I did order a blush from Flip, but I haven’t had the chance to try it yet. I wanted to do a trial run on camera for the first time. The shade I chose is “Chili,” a cool-toned mauve that seems promising.
There is also a full-size lip gloss from Cali Ray. I did try this product, but I must say, I wasn’t impressed. Considering its price of $19, it was quite underwhelming. It didn’t live up to my expectations and felt more like a lower-priced item. Even though there are fantastic $3 lip glosses from Elf that perform exceptionally well, this lip gloss left me wanting more. It had a lightweight formula that felt almost like a lip oil, which resulted in it wearing off quickly. There was no plumping effect, and it didn’t burn or sting the lips. To top it off, the packaging ended up splitting open on me. Personally, I wasn’t a fan of this product at all.

I was really excited about this set because I had bought a version of it last year and it was a great deal. However, I was let down this year. The set includes two mini liquid blushes and two mini liquid highlighters. From the photo, they don’t look too small, but when you read the reviews on Sephora’s website, you’ll realize just how tiny they are. I have had mini blushes from Air Beauty in previous kits, and they were much bigger than these. Last year’s kit even included one full-sized blush. I don’t mind mini liquid blushes from Rare Beauty since their blushes are highly pigmented, but these minis are just too tiny to be worth it.

Like a tiny bit goes such a long way, but people in the review section were shocked by how small they were once they actually came in whats. Interesting is this is a 34 set. They say its 54 in terms of value, but I did the math and based on the price and how much you get in the full size, blushes and the full size highlighters. This actually only comes out to be a 29 value like right around there 29 and change, which is so surprising because theyre actually charging 34 but theyre saying its 54 in value. So I dont know exactly how they arrived at that, let me just say sometimes the value that they attach to these kits isnt, always like the most important factor when youre buying it for me personally.
Value vs. Quantity
Id rather pay, maybe just like a little bit more to get Four minis in different shades, rather than paying the same amount for one color, especially when it comes to a product like a liquid blush or a liquid highlighter, because its not something Ill ever finish up completely for the most part. So I wouldnt even be opposed to spending the thirty four dollars for something thats a little bit less in terms of value, but I just feel like thats like full on false advertising. Maybe it was a typo. Maybe it was a mistake: thats just really really off and I think its good to know because, if youre buying this based on the perceived value, I just feel like its nice to know whether or not its actually worth that if you go into it, knowing youre going to get really small products like the blush comes with 3.

But upon closer inspection, it seems like you’re getting the same palette three times. The photo provided doesn’t do justice in showcasing any variety in the palettes. It would have been more interesting to see a range of palettes, including dedicated highlighter, blush, and bronzer palettes. While they market it as having one for yourself and giving the others away, it just doesn’t make much sense to release three similar palettes. Perhaps in person, they appear slightly different, but the photo certainly doesn’t convey that. Furthermore, based on another palette available on Sephora’s website, it’s clear that the inflated value is misleading. A similar palette is actually valued at $75, meaning they’re inflating it by a whopping $159. In contrast, Sephora has another option available – a Mini Play to Go Cheek Palette priced at $25 – that offers a more reasonable value.

Is this one from tarte? In my opinion, because there are high end, mascaras are expensive and sometimes you see like different sets for the holiday season. I think Too Faced usually does it with like theyre, better than sex mascara Ive seen other brands.
Tarte Holiday Set: A Hidden Gem
Do it, and sometimes theyll pair, like a mascara and an eyeliner together, but what I love that chart does is theyll usually include like three mascaras in a set this year they actually did three full size, mascaras and one dual-ended eyeliner. So this is 44., but its 101 in value each product breaks down to be 11. If you buy this as a kit – and I think that is such a good deal, because the mascaras are normally 25 and the eyeliner is normally 26..
The Underwhelming Big Ego
The only thing that I dont like in this set is the big ego. I did try that and I I just wasnt really impressed by it. It was pretty underwhelming, but I love the lights camera lashes and I love the tartlett tubing mascara. I currently have that one open and I do have like their double or dual ended, eyeliner but its in black, and then it has like a light nude on the other end so other than the big ego. I am a fan of that scent if you like.
Alternative Option: Ulta’s Set
All three of those formulas that might be a really good deal I did want to mention. I know this is a video on like the Sephora favorite sets, but Ulta has a set like this as well.
