Packed with potent antioxidants and skin-nourishing ingredients, this serum works wonders in brightening dull skin and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Trust me, once you try this, you won’t be able to go back to your old skincare routine.

2. Hydrating Moisturizer

Dry, dehydrated skin is a thing of the past with the introduction of the Hydrating Moisturizer by Dr. Shereene Idriss. Formulated with a blend of hydrating ingredients like hyaluronic acid and ceramides, this moisturizer provides intense hydration while strengthening the skin’s natural moisture barrier. Say goodbye to flaky skin and hello to a plump, radiant complexion.

Makeup Must-Haves

When it comes to makeup, 2023 has been a year of innovation and creativity. From vibrant eyeshadow palettes to long-lasting foundations, there’s something for everyone. Here are my top picks for the best new makeup products of 2023:

1. Vibrant Eyeshadow Palette

If you’re someone who loves playing with colors and creating eye-catching looks, the Vibrant Eyeshadow Palette is a must-have in your collection. With a range of bold and pigmented shades, this palette allows you to unleash your creativity and experiment with different looks. Whether you prefer a smokey eye or a vibrant pop of color, this palette has got you covered.

2. Long-Lasting Foundation

Finding the perfect foundation can be a daunting task, but the search is over with the Long-Lasting Foundation by Dr. Shereene Idriss. This foundation not only provides excellent coverage but also stays put all day long, even through heat and humidity. Its lightweight formula allows your skin to breathe while still giving you a flawless complexion. Trust me, this will become your new holy grail foundation.

2023 has been an exciting year for skincare and makeup enthusiasts. Whether you’re looking to improve your skin’s health or enhance your makeup game, these products are definitely worth a try. Stay tuned for more exciting updates and recommendations from Dr. Shereene Idriss, your go-to skincare and makeup expert.

Best Cleanser of the Year

This year, there is one cleanser that stands out from the rest. It has been heavily endorsed by dermatologists all over, but strangely enough, they never reached out to me. However, that doesn’t change the fact that I am a fan of this product. Introducing the gentle, clear, clarifying acne cream cleanser, available at an affordable price of just 10 bucks.

What makes this cleanser special is its inclusion of salicylic acid. It’s not every day that you come across a creamy cleanser with salicylic acid. Typically, when we think of salicylic acid, we associate it with oily skin and the need to get rid of excess oil through stripping or foaming cleansers. But this product breaks that stereotype. It is suitable for those with dry skin, rosacea, sensitive skin, or anyone living in a dry environment, yet still experiencing breakouts.

This cleanser not only targets blemishes but also maintains the skin’s moisture balance. It ensures that your skin doesn’t feel stripped of its natural oils, making it a perfect choice for those who want to combat breakouts without compromising their skin’s hydration levels. So, if you’ve been struggling with dry skin and acne, this is the product for you.

Dry skin can often be a challenge, especially when trying to find the right products to address breakouts. It’s quite rare to find a cleanser that not only tackles acne but also cater to the needs of dry skin. This product, with its creamy texture and salicylic acid formula, fills that void. It provides a unique solution for individuals with specific skin requirements, ensuring that their skin stays healthy and blemish-free.

The best part? This product is a drugstore find, making it easily accessible and affordable for everyone. So, if you’re looking for a new addition to your skincare routine in 2023, don’t miss out on this gem.

Dr. Shereene Idriss has always been committed to empowering her followers, and with the evolution of her skincare line, Pillow Talk Derm, in 2024 on the horizon, she continues to inspire individuals to take charge of their skincare journey. So mark your calendars for January 25th and stay tuned for more exciting announcements from Dr. Shereene Idriss.

Toners: More Than Just Watery Liquids

Moving on to toners, toners doesn’t mean anything, it’s basically people that equate anything that looks watery and liquidy to a toner, but toners can also be chemical exfoliants. So do you guys recognize this brand?

An Affordable Dupe for Paulas Choice

Are you going to guess benzil peroxide? Wrong! Penoxal? Yes, but not benzil peroxide! This is a 2 salicylic acid toner, a nice dupe for Paula’s Choice, because it’s only $12. The thing I hate, though, is this dropper system, but you’ll still be rich. Even if you drop this whole thing, so Penoxal 2 salicylic acid, then we have spot treatments.

Targeted Acne Clearing Solution

Spot treatments are a little bit tricky because you all think of hydrocolloid patches, Starface patch Hero, whatever it’s called, but we don’t think of a clear patch. And did you know Playa came to play this year? Is that the expression? Or Kes came to play and they showed up? I don’t know the expression, but you know what I’m saying: Kes truly targeted Acne Clearing solution for 30 bucks.

Clear Patches for Convenient Coverage

This is an interesting patch that goes on clearly on your skin. If you have a blemish, if you have a pimple, it’s an SOS situation, and you need to wear makeup, but you feel guilty putting the makeup on top of your pimple. Cover it with this first; there’s 2 salicylic acid. It seems like all these products are cell Acid, but they’re not. We’re about to shift gears.

Nicomide and Licorice Root

It also has 4 nicomide, thank the Lord, not 10, so it’s not going to be super inflammatory. And it has licorice root, which can help minimize the look of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

Transparent Barrier Shield

So would I use this all over my face? I would not. It feels tacky and doesn’t peel off quite as you would expect it to, but it creates a nice transparent barrier shield. On top of your blemish, if you are to use makeup, on top of it Innovative, exciting love, it newness moving on to targeted serums.

Mandelic Acid Serum

This is still in the exfoliating acid category, though, but we are in the serum domain, and this is one by a dear friend of mine who also really brought her name this year, Sophie pavet shes, an esthetician in New York City, and I love her Mandela. Mc acid, it is 54 mandelic. Acid is not one that you usually find on the market.

It is one of the gentlest ahas because it is the biggest aha, so it doesn’t go deep. So if you’re sensitive looking to exfoliate or if you just like to exfoliate a little bit more regularly, but you know it’s not good for you and you want to try to push the envelope a bit, look for things with mandelic acid.

It is a very liquidy serum kind of like a toner, but because it comes in a pump, it’s more of a serum right technically. I guess that’s the way people differentiate stuff these days, but it doesn’t have any fragrance and your skin looks clearer and slightly tighter when you use it, so it’s really really really nicely done. Bravo Sophie!

Single Ingredient Story Brand

Moving on, and this is one that I would not have thought of as Innovative, because there are such a single ingredient story brand.

The Ordinary’s Soothing and Barrier Support Serum

Can you guess, did I show you the brand? Can you guess The Ordinary? I am putting them in here because they’ve thought outside the box and decided to mix ingredients together to create a multi-ingredient story that makes my heart flutter.

When you are looking for skincare products, you want to look for multi-ingredient stories to really streamline your routine, and this one is their soothing and barrier support serum for 7.

The Pink Pepto-Bismol Look

The name tells you what it does. It helps to calm your barrier and repair your barrier. What really caught my eye, if I’m not going to lie to you guys, is the fact that it looks like Pepto-Bismol, and I have a lot of GI issues and indigestion, so I had an emotional connection to the pink.

But I don’t think the pink makes much sense for the product other than the fact that it looks cool. Vitamin B12 helps to support your skin barrier by reducing dryness and visible redness, but that’s what they attribute the pink to.

When you’re thinking of redness, ideally, you want to go into the green domain to help kind of muffle the noise and limit the look of the redness. So adding more pink to red doesn’t make a lot of sense, but this one is interesting because it has vitamin B12.

Cantella Asiatica and Gallic Acid

It also has Cantella Asiatica and Gallic Acid. Now, if you are a real nerd, you know where you’ve heard that before. So we all know now, if you are a real nerd, that Gallic Acid helps to target redness associated with external stressors on the skin and by reducing water loss.

The combination of these ingredients in The Ordinary’s soothing and barrier support serum is what makes it stand out as a promising new skincare product for 2023.

The Best NEW Skincare & Makeup of 2023! | Dr. Shereene Idriss

Tatcha Silk Serum: A Creamy and Hydrating Option

The Tatcha Silk Serum is a beautiful, creamy, and hydrating serum that works wonders for your skin. While it is on the pricier side, coming in at 98 bucks, it offers great benefits for your skin’s barrier. The serum contains upcycled cranberry extract, which acts as a barrier supporter, giving you smoother-looking skin. It also contains sea fennel, a marine botanical that aids in the natural turnover process of your skin cells. Additionally, silk proteins in the serum help diminish the appearance of fine lines, providing a plumping effect. While the marketing may label it as a retinol alternative, I find this claim to be a bit misleading. Nevertheless, I still love this serum for its hydrating and smoothing properties.

Sensitivity Concerns and Fragrance

One thing to note about the Tatcha Silk Serum is that it does have a fragrance. If you are not sensitive to fragrances, then feel free to use it without worry. However, if you have sensitivity concerns, it may be best to steer clear of this serum. Fragrances can cause irritation and allergies in some individuals.

Looking for a Real Antioxidant Serum?

If you are in search of a true antioxidant serum, I recommend trying my buddy Jordan’s antioxidant treatment. While the Tatcha Silk Serum does provide some antioxidant benefits, the antioxidant treatment created by Jordan is specifically designed to deliver potent antioxidants to your skin. It is important to find the right skincare products that best suit your skincare needs, and sometimes that means exploring different options to find what works best for you.

Remember, skincare is a personal journey, and what works for one person may not work for another. It is essential to listen to your skin’s needs and adjust your skincare routine accordingly. With the constant evolution of skincare and makeup products, it’s always exciting to see what innovative options the beauty industry has to offer. Stay informed, try new products, and discover what works best for you.

Emulsion

Emulsion is a skincare product that is not a vitamin C antioxidant treatment. If you have sensitive skin, there’s no need to worry. This product comes in a chunky pump and costs $65. It has a beautiful panone color of the year, resembling a peach shade. It contains aanin aanin, which gives it a salmon-like color. This ingredient, along with niacinamide, resveratrol, and pometo tripeptide 8, helps combat environmental stressors and protects your skin from aging.

Allies of Skin

Allies of Skin offers a luxurious holiday gift called the multipeptide Advanced serum. It comes with a price tag of $188, making it quite expensive. This serum is a great alternative to retinol, especially for those who cannot tolerate retinols or are too scared to use them on their neck or chest. I have personally used this serum and finished the entire bottle. It gives your skin a beautiful Sheen effect, providing instant gratification and making you more motivated to continue using it for long-term results.

Full Disclosure

The de puffer is my absolute favorite product. Unfortunately, no further information or details about this product are provided in the given content.

Depuffing Serum: The Perfect Formula

Dr. Shereene Idriss has worked tirelessly to create the ultimate depuffing serum. After countless iterations, she has finally formulated a serum that not only reduces puffiness but also minimizes redness. The unique aspect of this serum is its ability to continue working long after using a roller. Dr. Idriss wanted to create a product that mirrors the effects of a roller but goes above and beyond. Through clinical studies, it has been proven that this depuffing serum truly works, making it an excellent addition to her patients’ skincare routines.

Revolutionary Retinol Serum

While Dr. Idriss doesn’t have it at hand, she still whole-heartedly recommends the elf youth boosting Advance Retinol Serum for 2023. With elf having a crazy year, this retinol serum stands out among the rest. Priced at just 22 bucks, it contains hydroxy pinacol retinoate (known as a granactive renoid), combined with reinel and a touch of antioxidants. This serum is perfect for those with sensitive skin who are looking to dabble in retinols without breaking the bank.

Moisturizers: A New Challenger Emerges

Dr. Idriss has long been a fan of AOS’s calm and restore gel moisturizer, but now she has discovered a new competitor that surpasses it in size and performance. The details of this moisturizer are not mentioned explicitly, but one can infer that it offers similar benefits to the AOS gel moisturizer while being from a larger and perhaps more reputable brand.

Purito’s Oat Intense Cream

This is Purito’s Oat Intense Cream with 71% oat. You can literally eat it for breakfast, but please don’t. However, this is a great moisturizer that just melts into your skin and leaves it feeling silky and hydrated. It quenches your skin’s thirst and gets absorbed quickly. It contains oat seed water, oak kernel oil, oat kernel flour, and oat kernel extract, which are all soothing and calming ingredients. If you have inflamed skin barriers or eczema, this moisturizer is definitely worth a try.

Skin Food by WAA

One product that I’ve always loved is Skin Food by WAA. They have now come up with two new versions – a nourishing day cream and a night cream. To be honest, I don’t love the day cream. It has a strong smell and a very lightweight texture, which I feel is not suitable for the scent and essential oils it contains. But I absolutely love their night cream. The nourishing night cream is rich and feels like butter on the skin, reminding me of the original Skin Food.

Butter for the Lips

This new lip product from Dr. Shereene Idriss is like butter. It has a smooth and creamy texture that glides effortlessly on the lips. Although the writer admits to not exfoliating their lips beforehand, they still appreciate the basting effect of the lip butter. Unlike other lip products with a strong scent, this one has a subtle gin-like fragrance, thanks to the glycerin in its formula. The writer expresses their excitement and love for this fun and new lip product.

Dr. David Kim Lightsaver

Dr. David Kim, who happens to work with Dr. Shereene Idriss, launched his own brand this year, and the writer proudly supports him from the sidelines. One of the standout products from his brand is the Lightsaver, a mineral sunscreen that gives a matte finish. It is especially suitable for people with oily skin who dislike the greasy look of traditional sunscreens. The writer genuinely looks forward to what Dr. Kim has in store for the future, but they keep their lips sealed for now.

Zoo Paint Eye Paint

Moving on to makeup, the writer shares their experience with Violette’s Zoo Paint Eye Paint. At first, they were confused since they are not a big makeup person. However, they are trying to expand their horizons and venture into the world of cosmetics. This eye paint, actually resembling paint in texture, caught their attention. The writer does not delve further into their experience with this product, leaving the audience curious about their thoughts and further exploration into the world of makeup.

Overall, Dr. Shereene Idriss and her collaborations with other professionals in the industry seem to be generating excitement and intrigue among consumers. The writer’s descriptions, although a bit perplexing at times, convey their genuine interest in these new skincare and makeup products, making the audience want to learn more about Dr. Idriss and her recommendations for the best new products in 2023.

New Skincare & Makeup Must-Haves

When it comes to the world of beauty, there are always exciting new releases to look out for. From game-changing skincare products to innovative makeup formulas, staying updated with the latest trends is a must. One expert who has been creating quite the buzz in the industry is none other than Dr. Shereene Idriss. Let’s take a closer look at some of the best new skincare and makeup products of 2023 recommended by Dr. Shereene Idriss.

Huda Beauty Eyeshadow Palette

In recent weeks, Dr. Shereene Idriss discovered a rather unfortunate truth – her beloved Huda Beauty Eyeshadow Palette was discontinued. Left with a limited supply, she found herself scrambling for a solution. However, her resourcefulness led her to a surprising revelation – the eyeshadow palette was essentially paint. Armed with this knowledge, Dr. Shereene Idriss decided to experiment. Using her finger as an applicator, she began dabbing the paint onto her eyelids, repeatedly. To her delight, the pigment was intense and the results were stunning. While a little goes a long way with this particular product, the Huda Beauty Eyeshadow Palette remains a favorite despite its discontinuation.

Tower 28 Make Waves Mascara

Next on the list is the Tower 28 Make Waves Mascara, a staple in Dr. Shereene Idriss’ makeup routine for the past year. This mascara is available in their Dark One shade, aptly named Jet. The deep black hue adds a touch of drama to any look. Tower 28 also introduced a brown version called Drift, which failed to meet Dr. Shereene Idriss’ expectations. While she incorporates brown eyeliner into her routine, the black mascara brings out the best in her lashes. The Make Waves Mascara continues to reign supreme in Dr. Shereene Idriss’ vanity.

Katie Jane Us K, JH Hypers Shine Serum and Highlight

Katie Jane Us K, JH, also known as KJ, made waves with her Hypers Shine Serum and Highlight in the shade Love Light Pink. Sadly, Dr. Shereene Idriss lost the included brush – a sought-after item amongst her friends. Despite this setback, she managed to make the most of the products. However, she admits that there was a learning curve involved in achieving the desired results. Nevertheless, the Hypers Shine Serum and Highlight offered a unique shine and added radiance to Dr. Shereene Idriss’ complexion.

Unveiling the best new skincare and makeup products of 2023, Dr. Shereene Idriss presents her top picks for achieving flawless beauty. From the pigmented Huda Beauty Eyeshadow Palette to the dramatic Tower 28 Make Waves Mascara and the illuminating Hypers Shine Serum and Highlight by Katie Jane Us K, JH, these products are worth adding to your beauty arsenal.
