Geek and Gorgeous Liquid Hydration
Geek and Gorgeous sent me the pump version of their original liquid hydration that used to come in a traditional toner. I thought it was amazing and sang its praises until I found out it was a PR exclusive. The formulation was the same, but I felt a bit bad about it. I asked Geek and Gorgeous for a spray bottle version of the product, and they finally relented. I’m thrilled about it, as the mist is beautiful. It kickstarts your skincare routine and makes the rest of your serums apply much better.
Hydration is Key
Your skin will just drink up that hydration it’ll plump it out and honestly. This is amazing, and one of my big cheats in skincare for having plumper more youthful skin is to use a good, humant, Ser serum. I covered that in a recent video which I’ll link up there. In that video, I said it’s essential to start with some hydration and this is it. It’s affordable, it’s drugstore, it now comes in this beautiful spray. I love it. I think they’re still doing the traditional bottle, if that’s your preference, but for me the spray just works better.
Brand Spotlight: Coats
This brand reached out to me about three months ago and said, “would you like to try some of our products?” I jumped at the chance because I like the aesthetic and the look that they were presenting. I didn’t realize they’ve actually been going viral over on TikTok for months and months. That had passed me by. I am over on TikTok, I’ll leave the link in the comment section if you did want to check it out, but I can’t say I’m as active over there as I am on YouTube. Maybe this viral sensation just passed me by. So I tried them and honestly, I’m on that hype wagon.
The Best Skincare Products of 2024
The three products I am showcasing are truly amazing. I did not expect to be so impressed, but here we are. It seems that the brand has decided to focus on just these three products, and I am completely okay with that. Quality over quantity, right? All of these products are incredibly well formulated and each one shines in its own unique way.
The Cleanser
Let’s start with the cleanser. As you can see, I have been using it quite a bit and it is starting to run out. I absolutely love this cleanser, especially for those with oily or combination skin. It seems to work best for people with similar skin types, but I have been using it all over my face with great results.
The Water Cream
Next up is the polyglutamic acid-based water cream. If you are a fan of a certain high-end water cream but not the hefty price tag, this is the perfect alternative. Packed with hydrating ceramides, squalene, and polyglutamic acid, this cream is a game changer. It leaves your skin feeling super hydrated and refreshed.
The Toning Milk
Lastly, we have the Coats Gentle Hydrating Toning Milk. I have featured this product before because I cannot get enough of it. Formulated with mandelic acid, this toner gently exfoliates the skin and helps fade hyperpigmentation. If you enjoy gentle exfoliation, this toning milk is a must-have in your skincare routine.
Testing Viral Skincare Brand: Tatcha
I didn’t realize this was a viral brand until I’d already tried it, but I can completely endorse the viral hype. It’s so good, so yeah. I genuinely love those products. While that did come in PR, I will be repurchasing with my own coin when the time comes.
Initial Impressions
This came in PR about a month ago, and I must say it was a beautiful box. I kept the box because I love that purple and I have some ideas for it. So they sent me a selection of products which I was excited to try out.
On Being Thrifty
For those who have watched my channel, you’ll know I am cheap. Let’s call it what it is. I hate overpaying for skincare. Drugstore options have always worked for me, so I’ve never bought into the hype of Tatcha. They reached out to me, and I thought, maybe sometimes you can pay more to get more.
Tatcha Products
So, what did we get here? The Water Cream and the Rice Polish. Sorry, just going to reach for these. I should have thought this through better.
Being Open to New Experiences
Despite my thrifty habits, I was open to trying out Tatcha products. I know that sometimes quality comes at a cost, and I wanted to see if these products were worth the hype.
Tatcha Rice Cleanser
This is the rice wash and the Violet SE Radiance mask so I’ve tried all of them by the mask. I haven’t tried the mask yet, but I will be trying it. I can honestly say the water cream. There’s nothing special there that was a $100 price point there, just isn’t. I like the rice cleanser. I thought it was good. But again I wasn’t like wow. The one product that genuinely really impressed me with Tatcha and I think actually might be worth the coin and I probably will repurchase with my own coin when it’s done is this.
Tatcha Rice Polish Deep
This is the rice polish deep. So I do like a little enzymatic exfoliation, you know, I think enzymes, very gentle manual abrasion from like powdered rice or bran, can be a great way of bringing some luminosity and some vibrancy to the skin. I think you just get a different outcome than what you do with chemical exfoliations, so I’ll generally do a chemical exfoliation once or twice a week, then as a little treat, usually on a Sunday I’ll go in with either like a polish or an enzymatic cleanser. Something like that and I’ve been using this, and I really really love the results. It doesn’t strip, it doesn’t dry, it’s not gritty. It has the most beautiful foam, it’s got some silk amino acids in here, which just make it glide on and leave your skin silky smooth.
Enzyme-Based Exfoliator
I really like this product, it stands on its own and the packaging is beautiful. The dispenser design is convenient and prevents mess. It’s worth the price for an enzyme-based exfoliator with a little physical exfoliation.
Recyclable Packaging
I appreciate that all their packaging is recyclable. They tick a lot of boxes except for the price point, but the Rice powder exfoliator is genuinely amazing. I love that.
Non-Buzzing Vitamin C Sheet Masks
These vitamin C sheet masks are cheap and effective. I received the original in PR and bought three more. They are a great option for a budget-friendly skincare routine.

This action is unopened um. This is the one that Im going to be taking away with me. I love these once or twice a week. Its a sheet mask that actually delivers. How many sheet masks have you used and you like? They dont, really do anything. They might feel nice, but they dont do anything. This glows you up in an instant vibrancy, Luminosity everythings returning and it does fade your hyperpigmentation.
So if youre someone that likes to use your vitamin C infrequently couple of times a week, this is a great option. If you want a sheet mask that actually delivers something. This is a great option, its amazing and theyre really inexpensive as well. I think they work at around 1.75 each not bad for a good nice treatment. You leave on 30 minutes. I would caution because these actually have actives in and theyre. Actually, quite potent dont use your vitamin C, your P vitamin C on the same day, youre going to use this, certainly not in the same routine, treat this as your vitamin C dose for the day, which again, I think, is actually a good thing. Cuz most sheet masks have so low concentrations, theyre kind of pointless this yeah this, I really really loved um now one product that I tried based on other peoples, recommendations primarily over on Instagram.

Hydrating Pads: Wasteful Packaging
At the moment, youve got like different cleansing. Pads youve got exfoliating pads the hydrating pads. This is the hydrating pad style product. They always come in these ginormous tubs, which I like the fact you get a lot in them, but I also think this. This is quite wasteful. I do like the color, though um these pads are good um. They have this little insert, which stops them leaking, which I appreciate the packaging well thought through. I just dont think you need it. I genuinely just dont think you need these um, I loved how hydrating they were. I love that Birch saap was doing lots for the skin. I just dont think they need to be in this pad form.
Issues with the Product Form
I I think if they took the liquid, put it in a toner that would cut down a waste cut down. Everything going into landfill would be easier to use Id be all on board. With that these pads theyre messy theyre wasteful. It still leaks a little bit Im Im not sold the results. Yes, 10 out of 10 maximum hydration. Just no! No for me like that geek and gorgeous one, I showcased earlier just easier way to get that hydration into the skin without all the faf that comes with this Im, not the biggest fan.
Round Lab 1025 Dokko Toner
Not you guys know if youve watched it Ill find my Korean skincare favorites, video, and Ill link it up there. I love Korean skincare, but, like you know any country that produces products they have the hits they have the misses another. My for me was this. This is the round lab 1025 doc, docko Tona um, this again recommended and by quite a few people saying it was quite nice and hydrating and it was, but it was nothing special and its pricey. I than some other options: um yeah, so this uses sugar cane extract um. We put it on the skin, its quite liquid. If thats coming across um, you can work it in it sinks in quite well, thats all fine. I just dont feel its doing a lot. Now its not fragrance, so if you like fragrance for skincare, this is great, but I thought with that sugar cane, usually with like sugars and stuff, are very nourishing hydrating. I expected a lot. I actually just got a very average toner, its probably not. When I look back to the 90s. You know I lived a lot of my life in the 90s and when I look back to the stripping the drying, the irritating toners that we used to be use back, then this streets ahead of that, but compared to some of its peers in the market. Now I think we can do better. Like you see, thats disappeared, its not left anything sticky or tacky, but just really left nothing behind.
The Crave Beauty Lip Barrier Relief Lip Balm
I wanted more. I expected more and I’ve been left just a little bit disappointed with that just a little bit, so yeah. That, for me, was a little bit of a fail. Now, I’ve got three products to round out this little haul. So, I’m going to start with this one and I’m going to cave out this heavily that I don’t know that this is for sale yet.
The reason I say this is, I got into trouble like I said earlier with that geek and Gode spray. When I said how much I loved it and then I realized it wasn’t actually for sale. This I’m not sure if it’s for sale. This is the Crave Beauty Lip Barrier Relief Lip Balm, so they are talking about it over on their Instagram. So I think it might be coming out or it has just landed something like that.
I actually got this when I went to the Crave Beauty UK launch met Leo. Highlight of my skincare journey here on YouTube. She was phenomenal and so lovely, the founder of Crave Beauty. Love a lot of their products, and this we got given as like a little bit of a favor on the table. You know, we’re having a meal and there was a little favor on the table.
This is cool because you can put it on your keychain, so you’ve always got it on the go. I like that, like a little innovation in packaging and it’s hands down one of the best lip balms you will ever try. It’s so hydrating, it’s so thick, it’s like the thickest lip balm.
The Best Skincare Product of 2024
You can barely squeeze it out the tube, but you put it on the lips and its like: oh instant, relief, long term hydration, so many beneficial ingredients. This is a 10 out of 10, 100 love this. I just dont know that its for sale. Yet I will try and find out and Ill leave a comment below and I will link it if I can find it in the description box, its A its phenomenal and I love the packaging.
Unsung Heroes of Skincare
Ending on two products that are a little bit of unsung heroes. Let’s start with FL Skin’s oatmeal barrier protein cream. They actually sent me their entire protein line, which includes an enzyme protein toner, soybean protein essence, and a soy milk relief protein lotion. I haven’t actually tried those yet because I’m using too much skincare as it is. I’m going to give those away to a friend who can then report back on how they work. But I tried this cream because my skin has been going through it a little bit, feeling a little dry, particularly around the mouth area, and this online.

If you read, some of the reviews is supposed to be like the best barrier. Moisturizer ever a lot of people say its even better than the original sea plast bar before L, rash, POS reformulated, and that like got my ears pricked up.
Thickest Moisturizer Ever?
So of course, when they reached out and said, can we send you our protein L? Yes, absolutely just for this just for this cuz. I want to try this. Yes, yes is all I can say um Im going to say its situational, and it’s the thickest moisturizer. You will ever find in your life.
Nighttime Nourishment
It is very rich, its very occlusive it. Yes it it just is everything like you like S, Plus, B by R POS time 10. It is very thick and it Le leaves a very thick layer on the skin. So this is going to be a product that you want to use at night before you go to bed.
Exceptional Barrier Repair
But let me promise you: if youve got any barrier impairment, you will wake up with hands down the best repaired skin of your life. It is that good. Look at that now. I wont wear this during the day because its going to be too thick too heavy – you cant, put makeup over it, but on the night, if your Skins going through it, this will sort you out.
Extensive Testing and Improvement
Theyve, actually put it through extensive testing as well, which showed a 43 Improvement in barrier function after for a couple of uses, all of its documented online Im like yeah, I like that.

I like, when Brands, invest their coin, improving the worth of their product, and I can just tell you this absolutely delivers. The challenge is its quite hard to get. I got mine um sent to me. I also did put one on order cuz. I want to share it with a friend um as well, and so I bought from Olive young, which is like an online Korean retailer. Ive. Only used them a couple of times and Ive not had any issues with them. Um share your experiences if youve ever shopped Olive young, I know James Welsh, iss quite a fan, so I felt comfortable shopping with them um and its on its way to me. So yeah that was quite good, so I got it from there, which is what Ill link below um you might want to shop around cuz. They are hard to find but yeah if youre looking for barrier support that like flash skin oatmeal yeah is amazing.

Finally, lets talk this little gem um, so this is the um K secret Advanced, regenerating eye gel patches, so I love kyret Ive used a lot of their products and always enjoyed them. I dont think theyre necessarily sell their products as well as they could by describing what they actually do. These are retinol infused patches that you can use all over the face. They say eye patches, but you can actually use them anywhere where you want some targeted anti aging. I do actually use these on the eyes, because I think this is the best eye lift in a Flash.

If you wake up in the morning, you’re feeling a little bit puffy, a little bit like dark circles. You’re not feeling your under eye best – pop these on for 30 minutes, take them off and you are snatched, ready to face the world. They come in different sizes – small ones and big ones. This is one that I opened about two, three days ago and I love them. My only criticism is, it comes with a scoop. It really needs tweezers other than that. We can’t really read a brand for that, but that I would change about it, but everything else is wonderful. These are great and I would recommend using them for 30 minutes in the morning. It’ll just snatch and lift everything and make you feel fabulous. It’s got Aur line in it, so if you’re like using Aur line in the morning, you’ve got it in here. You’ve got your retinol, which is fine to use in the morning. Just remember to use sunscreen afterwards. Ret is fine in the morning, especially if it’s formulated well to protect your skin, which this is, so you’re fine on that. I would still use your retinoid in the evening. It’s not super high potency in this, so still use your retinoid in the evening, but this will just give you that dose in the morning. It’s packed full of calming and soothing ingredients that are going to increase

Unfortunately, not all skincare products live up to their promises. In this Chatty Skincare Haul, there was one product that left much to be desired. The packaging was sleek and enticing, but the product itself fell short. Upon application, it left a greasy residue on the skin that never fully absorbed. It felt heavy and suffocating, not at all the light and refreshing feel one expects from a skincare product. The scent was overpowering and artificial, lingering long after application. Additionally, despite claims of being suitable for all skin types, it caused breakouts and irritation for many users. Despite the hype surrounding this product, it turned out to be a disappointing addition to the skincare routine.

Lymphatic Drainage Eye Patches
You know that lymphatic drainage to eradicate any puffiness and inflammation it just works best eye patches. Ever you get 60 in these they last forever. I yeah Im never going to be without mine, so there let me get my breath that was genuinely done without one take.

Product Review

All three of these products are truly flawless. Despite being the most expensive of the three, the toning milk is only $20, making it affordable for a wide range of consumers. The brand has definitely hit the mark with these products, providing quality and affordability in one package.
After testing out the Tatcha products, I must say, I am impressed. The Water Cream left my skin feeling hydrated and refreshed, while the Rice Polish gave me a gentle exfoliation that left my skin glowing. I may have to rethink my stance on splurging for skincare in the future.
But but I will say if you like extra hydration and you dont mind a pad, this might work for you for me. I think yeah no and I didnt like the fact it leaked that was a firm pass um another pass in the Korean skincare space, and I dont want this to be like Im just shading Korean skincare cuz Im.
