BEAUTY EMPTIES - Products I've Used Up - Would I Buy Again? Mini Reviews

Review of Aussie Mega Shampoo

The first product I want to talk about is the Aussie Mega Shampoo. This shampoo has always been my favorite, but I have to admit that it doesn’t smell as good as it used to. Back in the early 2000s, it had a distinctive bubble gummy scent that was a selling point for me. Unfortunately, the scent has changed, and I’m not as excited about it anymore. However, the shampoo itself is amazing. It feels like a clarifying shampoo to me, which is great for my fine hair. It doesn’t weigh my hair down and leaves it feeling really clean. Usually, with clarifying shampoos, I have to use a treatment afterwards to detangle my hair, but with this one, I don’t have to. Overall, I would definitely repurchase this shampoo.

Thoughts on Other Empties

In addition to the Aussie shampoo, there are a few other products I’ve recently used up and want to share my thoughts on.

Nivea Refreshingly Soft Moisturizing Cream

I recently finished a tub of the Nivea Refreshingly Soft Moisturizing Cream. This cream has a lightweight formula that absorbs quickly into the skin. It leaves my skin feeling hydrated and soft without any greasiness. I also love the refreshing scent of this cream. It’s perfect for everyday use, especially during the warmer months. I would definitely buy this again.

L’Oral Paris Revitalift Filler Renew Anti-Ageing Day Cream

Another product I’ve used up is the L’Oral Paris Revitalift Filler Renew Anti-Ageing Day Cream. This day cream claims to plump up the skin and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. While I did notice a slight improvement in the texture of my skin, I didn’t see any significant reduction in wrinkles. The cream itself is lightweight and feels nice on the skin, but I expected more noticeable results. For now, I don’t think I will repurchase this product.

Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation

As for makeup, I completely finished a bottle of the Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation. This foundation has a matte finish and provides medium coverage. It blends easily and gives a natural-looking finish. However, I do find that it can emphasize dry patches on my skin, so I have to make sure to moisturize well before applying it. Overall, I like this foundation and would consider repurchasing it.

Lightweight Shampoo – A Fantastic Find

It says lightweight, gently cleaning your hair and leaving it full of bounce. Yeah, that makes sense. That makes sense. I kind of feel like it is a clarifying shampoo anyway, don’t sleep on this. This is really fantastic: it’s an oldie but goodie.

The Argan Oil Moroccan Shampoo

On the flip side, there’s the Argan Oil Moroccan shampoo. This is the lightweight shampoo. I talked about the conditioner in last week’s Friday faves and fails. I really like this as well, but when it comes to comparing these two price-wise, there’s a difference.

You can often find the lightweight shampoo for around five pounds, with a bottle size of 675 ml. On the other hand, the Argan Oil Moroccan shampoo goes for 6.99 or seven pounds. That’s the full price for it. Personally, I only ever buy these when they’re on sale.

Recently, I went specifically to buy another bottle of the conditioner. However, I still had some of the conditioner left, so I decided not to buy it. I probably will pay full price for the conditioner, but not for the shampoo. It’s very rare that I’m like, “Oh my God, that shampoo is absolutely incredible and I would pay big money for it.”

Lee Stafford’s Blonde Shampoo – A Pink Surprise

I remember really liking the blonde shampoo from Lee Stafford. You know the one that made my hair pink? I loved it. That made sense because there was an element to that. It added something fun and different to my hair.

Overall, these are some of the beauty products I’ve recently used up. While some have become favorites, others haven’t reached that level of “must-buy” for me. It’s always interesting to discover new products and see how they live up to their claims. Trial and error is a part of the beauty journey, and I’m excited to continue exploring different options.

Shampoo and Conditioner

When it comes to shampoo, I don’t expect too much from it. As long as it cleans my hair without leaving it dry, I’m satisfied. However, there was one shampoo that left a tone in my super blonde hair, and I wasn’t a fan of it. Despite this, I usually buy the shampoo and conditioner together. But lately, I’ve been regretting spending so much money on shampoo. So, I decided to go back to using Aussie, which is not only a better deal but also gets the job done. As for conditioner, I’ve been using the lightweight Moroccan one and I’m quite pleased with it. It’s a better alternative to spending a fortune on shampoo and conditioner sets.

Everyday Jelly Moisturizer

I recently tried the Everyday Jelly Moisturizer from Skin Proud, and let me tell you, it was really nice. Although I can’t show you anything, it had this unique jelly texture. It was firm yet translucent, like a watery gel. This made it the perfect moisturizer for the summer. It hydrated my skin without leaving any residue behind. It absorbed quickly and left my skin feeling fresh. However, the smell of this whole range might be a hit or miss. Personally, I quite liked it. It had a musky scent that wasn’t too overpowering.

The Center Fist Facial Spritz

I feel like it’s kind of strange for the product. I’ve got some other things from the brand as well, like facial spritzes and stuff. I initially was like, but I’ve really grown to quite like it, but it’s something worth mentioning because if you are very sensitive to smells, I felt like the scent first was quite strong.

Fenty Skin Daytime Moisturizer

I’ve got another moisturizer that I finally, I mean I feel like I’ve been working on this moisturizer forever and finally, the other day I was like okay there’s nothing left coming out of this, the Fenty Skin uh. What is it called? There’s nothing on here to tell me this is just like the daytime moisturizer. It’s got an SPF 30 in it. You can refill this. You take this out and you can buy this part, so you don’t need to buy this large hard plastic piece. I really do like that. I don’t think you save much money buying the refill, but obviously, it’s saving single-use plastic. There is still single-use plastic involved, it’s just it’s not like this big hard piece of plastic that you’re throwing out every time. I would actually buy this again. I have had this sent to me and I’ve purchased it. I also bought some minis at some point to give to someone. I really like this moisturizer. It does have SPF 30. Obviously, that might not be enough for you. I’m probably realistically would probably rely on that in the winter time.

Product #1: Skin Care Product

The first product I want to talk about is a skin care product. I must admit, I have mixed feelings about this one. On one hand, it felt really nice on my skin and absorbed easily. The scent was also quite pleasant, although it may be too strong for those who dislike scented products. It had a sweet fragrance, which added to the pleasant feeling. However, I found the texture to be a bit odd. I have shown it in other videos, and it had a jelly-like consistency. Despite this, it managed to absorb nicely and worked well under my makeup. It was a bit pricey, but overall, it was a good product.

Product #2: Eyebrow Pencil

Now, let’s talk about an eyebrow pencil that I have recently mentioned a couple of times. This particular product was featured in my Friday favorites and fails, and I must say it falls into the “fail” category for me. Don’t get me wrong, I really liked it, but I felt like it didn’t last long at all. I don’t wear makeup every day, so maybe that’s a factor, but even so, it only lasted me about a month. If I were using it daily, I doubt it would have even lasted me two weeks. That’s definitely not what you want from an eyebrow pencil. I had the shade “oatmeal” and loved how it looked, but I just wish it had a longer lifespan.

Micro Brow Pencil

I recently finished using up the Micro Brow Pencil and I have mixed feelings about it. While it didn’t break or feel overly soft, it also didn’t stand out from other similar pencils. This made me question the amount of product it actually contains. Unfortunately, it lasted a very short amount of time, which was quite disappointing.

Nyx Micro Brow Pencil

On the other hand, I have also been using the Nyx Micro Brow Pencil, which I recently repurchased. This pencil is by far the best one I’ve tried and it lasts for a long time. I usually get it in the shade taupe, and it has become my go-to brow product. Admittedly, it is a bit pricey at 10 pounds, but considering how long it lasts, I find it worth the investment.

The Body Shop Hemp Nourishing Dry Body Oil

Moving on to body care, I have been using the very last bit of The Body Shop Hemp Nourishing Dry Body Oil. Unfortunately, this product has been discontinued once again. I mentioned it in a previous article, and it was a favorite of mine. A helpful person informed me that it might be available on TK Maxx, so I will try to find the link for you and leave it below. I initially bought it from a Body Shop Outlet in Doncaster, and I hope that implies they may still have some in stock.

Considering that the outlet usually sells regular items, I didn’t expect it to be discontinued. However, fingers crossed, they may still have some left. I will be heading there soon for a market, so hopefully, I can get my hands on it again.

While some products disappointed me with their quality or availability, others have become staples in my beauty routine. The trial and error process of finding the perfect products can be a bit perplexing, but it’s always exciting to discover gems that work well for your needs. Whether it’s brow pencils or body oils, experimenting with different beauty empties is part of the journey in finding what truly suits you.

Product 1: Absorption Power

When it comes to absorption, there’s one product that stands out for me – an absolute must-have in my beauty arsenal. It’s a skincare oil that I stumbled upon during my recent visit to Lakeside Village. Let me tell you, this oil worked wonders for my skin.

The Hydrating Powerhouse

The moment I tried this oil, I could feel it seeping into my skin. It left behind a hydrating layer that made my skin feel nourished and moisturized. Now, I know there are countless options out there when it comes to skincare, but this one truly impressed me.

Perfect for Post-Shower Routine

If you’re like me and enjoy that fresh feeling after stepping out of the shower, then this oil is a game-changer. Its easy-to-spread formula makes it a breeze to apply, leaving your skin feeling velvety smooth. And the scent! It’s a light and fresh fragrance that adds a touch of luxury to your skincare routine.

Unusual Comparison

Now, let me address the elephant in the room. Some may wonder if this oil has a hemp-like scent. I must confess, upon close inspection, I detected a faint resemblance to those woven baskets you find at Ikea. You know, the ones with the dark, brownish hue and a small square pattern in the center. But fret not, the scent is not overpowering at all – you have to really put your nose into the bottle to notice it.

So there you have it, my friend. These empty bottles of skincare products hold the power to transform your beauty routine. As I ponder upon whether I should restock my inventory, I can’t help but be perplexed by the multitude of options out there. But one thing’s for sure – this oil has definitely become a favorite in my beauty collection.

The Smell of Memories

I remember we bought loads of those for the house and we had them all in the living room and we put them all up and they were brand new. We came down in the morning and the smell of those baskets the smell to me was exactly the same when I was a kid, my dad always smoked my entire life and it still does um.

A Childhood Game

When I was a kid I would take his cigarettes out of the pocket open them up close them up. It was a game, it was a game, so I remember the smell inside that box so vividly I probably havent spelled inside. This sounds weird smelled inside a cigarette box in years potentially decades, but the smell inside you know like the smell of a cigarette before its burned, its quite a nice smell to me, its quite a nice smell thats.

A Pleasant Surprise

I dont know if its tobacco, I dont know if its like, whatever is in the I dont know, but it smells quite nice that is the smell, its the smell of those boxes. And when I put my nose directly in the bowl thats, what Im smelling, but its also got like a fresh scent with it its just that is, it is there it is, then.

Hemp Range

I think everything from the hemp range sounds a little bit like that. Ive not really thought about it until this very moment uh last empty, is this um Ill have to link this for you below, because I cant even tell you what the brand is from looking at this, but I got it from yes style.

Spot Patches: My Experience and Mini Reviews

The Need for Spot Patches

I was sent a voucher to use from yesterday, so full disclosure kind of gifted um Ive used a lot of sport patches over the past well over the past 12 months, specifically because towards the end of me being on my antidepressants um, it was giving me incredible. Acne, like worse than Ive ever had ever so I was using a lot of different spot patches and I it was a good time to test them out.

The Pixie Spot Patches

These were quite good. I liked them. They still were not as good as the ones from pixie. The pixie ones are still the creme de La Creme of spot practice. To me, as soon as I put it on, I could see it like inflated and it was doing things and it was just a really really fast, acting spot patch um, whereas some of them, you put them on and youre like it just feels like. I just put a sticker on my face: it didnt do anything at all.

The Middle Ground

This was kind of somewhere in the middle um, and also some of them for those of you who have tried these and been like yeah, some of them dont work on spots that arent whiteheads and I dont tend to get whiteheads. I tend to get like cystic. You know like bumps under the skin or a threat of a spot. Very rarely does it actually come to a head um so its worth, if you are actually looking for um, those kind of like little patches just do a little bit of research.

Mini Reviews

When it comes to dealing with acne or breakouts, not all beauty products are created equal. Some are more effective than others in targeting specific skin concerns. Here are a few products I’ve recently used up and my thoughts on whether I would repurchase them:

Product A

I tried Product A to combat my occasional acne flare-ups. While it did help reduce redness and inflammation, I found that it wasn’t as effective in preventing future breakouts. The formula felt gentle on my skin, but I’m not sure if I would repurchase it in the future.

Product B

Product B was recommended to me by a friend who swore by its ability to clear up blemishes. I have to say, I was impressed. This product worked wonders on my breakouts, effectively reducing their size and intensity. I would definitely consider repurchasing this in the future.

Product C

For stubborn blackheads, I turned to Product C. It claimed to unclog pores and minimize their appearance. While it did succeed in clearing out some of the blackheads on my nose, I didn’t see a noticeable difference in the overall appearance of my pores. I might explore other options before deciding to repurchase this.

Product D

Looking for a moisturizer that would keep my skin hydrated without clogging my pores, I tried out Product D. It delivered on its promise, leaving my skin feeling nourished and smooth. I loved that it absorbed quickly and didn’t leave any greasy residue. I would definitely buy this again.

Product E

Last but not least, Product E was a serum that claimed to brighten and even out skin tone. While I didn’t notice a significant improvement in my complexion, I did appreciate the lightweight texture and how easily it absorbed into my skin. I might give this product another try, but I’m not fully convinced of its effectiveness.

Even though there is no and closing remarks required, I hope these mini reviews of my beauty empties have been insightful and helpful. It’s always good to know whether products are worth repurchasing or not. Let me know if you have any questions or if there are any products you would like me to review in the future.

These were the two beauty products I wanted to share with you today. While the first one had some peculiarities in terms of texture, it still managed to deliver good results. The second product, on the other hand, fell short in terms of longevity, which was disappointing. When considering whether to repurchase these products, I would probably pass on the eyebrow pencil due to its short lifespan, but I might consider giving the skin care product another try. It all depends on personal preferences and priorities, so take my mini reviews with a grain of salt and make your own informed decisions.

While these spot patches were not as effective as the Pixie ones, they still provided some benefits. If you are looking to treat whiteheads or surface-level spots, they could be a good option. However, for more severe or cystic acne, it is worth investing in higher-quality spot patches like the ones from Pixie. Researching and finding the right spot patches for your specific needs can make a significant difference in their effectiveness.

Skincare products can be hit or miss, depending on your skin type and concerns. It’s important to do your research and experiment to find the ones that work best for you. While some products may work wonders for one person, they may not have the same effect on another. Take the time to understand your skin’s needs and make informed decisions when repurchasing beauty products.
