Bad Products from Good Brands – Skincare Products I Hate From Brands I Love

If you haven’t already signed up for a newsletter, check it out! It’s going to have updates and a giveaway, maybe next week or the week after. Anyway, I’m focusing on doing some fun things there so subscribe to it in the link below. Today’s video, you know what, there are so many Brands I really like and respect and trust. However, just because I respect and trust these Brands and generally like their products, that doesn’t mean they’re immune to releasing products that aren’t great.

Brands I Like But Disappointing Products

So today, I’m just going to focus on products, bad products from good brands. Just because I consider these bad, if they work for you, that’s awesome. So you do you! If some of these products I mentioned are holy grails for you, don’t change them if they work, go for it. But in my opinion, these products are from good brands, but they’re not the best products.

Hit or Miss: Gin, Sing, and Honey

First off, I’m going to start with this one. I’m From, you know what, this brand is super hit or miss. So I’ve got the Ginseng serum and the I’m From Honey serum. The Honey mask is really nice. They have a lot of nice things. Their rice toner is amazing. They have some really nice products. However, these two miss the mark, in my opinion. They’re both too fragranced. To talk about yesterday, I did a video on the best herbs for collagen, stimulating collagen production and skin.

Disappointing Ginseng Serum and Honey Serum

I mentioned ginseng and I really wanted to recommend this one, but I just couldn’t because its got fragrance in it and the scent is kind of strong and the Honey serum. It’s got gerol, lemon and citr, as well as cinnamon bark, which it’s a lot of fragrance that just isn’t good for your skin, but they do have other good products so check those out. I don’t know how what the same brand that can make this wonderful toner can be the same brand that made these two scented serums I don’t know, but they did and they have good stuff. But these two, in my opinion, are clear, misses at least for me.

Underwhelming Sika Soothing Cream

Next up, this is another brand where I really like a lot of their products I will say I’ve tried at this point. I believe all the serums they’ve released and I love them all. And they’ve got two moisturizers which I really like, except for a lot of the other products are too scented, so this Sika soothing cream it’s not very soothing. Let me see if they’ve got the ingredient list in English. This one just had a lot of fragrance. In it I found – and it was too scented anyway, so I didn’t love this product. Their cleansers have a lot of scent in them, and some of their masks have a lot of scent in them. But if you try any of their serums they’re all wonderful, so I don’t know where they went wrong.

Sunday Riley

Overall, this is a good brand. I would say 75% of products are really great, and 25% of them are just not super wonderful. Sunday Riley has some real winners that people really enjoy. Their exfoliating Serum is a hit. However, they also have some misses like their nice cinnamide serum, which in my opinion, smells like toilet bowl cleanser.

Whenever I use the toilet bowl cleanser, my cat comes into the bathroom and seems to enjoy the smell of it. It smells like pine and perfume, which is not what I want in my skincare products. Their sunscreen was also disappointing – not because of the fragrance, but because of its thickness and texture that just did not agree with my skin. And don’t get me started on their pink juice Spritz fragrance.

Products I Love

But you know what, if you follow what you do for the serums and make everything else similar to that, you’ll be fine. The iown Blackberry serum is wonderful. However, some of their cleansers are super scented and super drying, which is a letdown.

The serums are a standout from this brand, but the other products can be hit or miss. Stick to what works for you and don’t be afraid to try new products, even from brands you love. It’s all about finding what works for your skin.

Controversial Brand with Good and Bad Products

But anyway, they have a lot of other good stuff. That was really nice, they’re tial water, cream, no idea what’s going on with that. They released it and then there were issues with it, now I don’t even think it’s listed, but they still have a lot of good stuff. Their glycolic serum and lactic acid serum are loved by many. Despite this, the brand is controversial due to their lack of integrity, as they have been known to make employees write good reviews for them.

Scented Skincare Product Woes

This is a brand that has been around for a while. A lot of their products were very teen-oriented and heavily scented. They had a period where they released some nice unscented products, but then came the Bliss skin Euphoria. It has great ingredients like willow bark, squalane, peptides, and bakuchi. However, the overwhelming scent of the product makes it a disappointment.

Cerx: Ruined by Fragrance

Its got all these good ingredients. Ceramides nice cinnamide. Oh its got the uh aad sodium potassium aluminum uh. I mean lactic acid, its got all this good stuff in it and then they just top it off with too much scent so anyway, who knows theyre so hit or miss uh?

Cerx: Disappointing Sunscreen

This is one of probably. What would you guys think are the top K Beauty Brands like the top three most popular Claires would probably be up there. I Im going to guess this brand is going to be in your top three cerx. They make so many good things, the same brand. That makes the snail mus and cream its amazing uh. They have some really nice moisturizers and toners and Essences, and then they come out with. I dont know whats the deal with sunscreens, but they just ruin them by putting so much fragrance in all of them. This one is the worst by far it is so scented. I dont even want to. I dont even want to look at it its just its bad anyway. Their aloe sunscreen is okay. It would be so great without the fragrance, but this one is just way more scented and over the top and did not like that. One.

Claires: Overly Fragranced Vitamin C Serum

Speaking of Claires uh, I dont know, Claires makes a lot of great stuff for sensitive skin, but theyre vitamin C theyve got two of them, so this is their freshly charged juicing serum, I didnt hate it hate it.

Disappointing Vitamin C Serum

But in terms of like the price to benefits its not really there and theres, I think 5, vitamin C in here its a low amount, and I Im trying to remember if this ones, actually a sorbic acid or a derivative and its also got some orange uh. Scent to it, so this one for the price, it was a bummer youre, much better off with going with something like geek and gorgeous or now Im testing the dime um hyperlow, vitamin C serum, which is amazing, and this stuff didnt quite equate. But some people will probably love it and theres nothing wrong with that.

Strong Citrus Extracts in C Serum

Okay, another brand. I absolutely love theyve got so many good products, theyre kind of still a newer brand, but theyve got a lot of products that are good dupes for more expensive products out there. Um and in general, most of their products are amazing, its Dermatology. This is their C serum C5 because I think they have five different types of vitamin C in here. But then weve got orange. Fruit extract lemon fruit, extract uh fragrance, so especially for something I use during the day to have all the Citrus extracts in there I dont like it. The scent in here is very strong and it doesnt dissipate throughout the day. So, in my opinion, uh again ke and gorgeous wonderful, vitamin C serum, but this stuff I was really hoping it be good because you know what, when you talk about vitamin C derivatives, they they might find out 10 years from now that none of them work or Maybe one of them work and if youre going to throw them in a product, might as well use them all uh anyway.

Dr.Ci:Labo Vegan Active Berry Lifting Cream

So yeah, it’s got peptides, it’s got all this good stuff in there, and then they just ruin it with the over the top scent and citrus extract. This brand is known for their hit or miss fragrances, but this lifting cream was a miss for me. The strong scent made it unbearable to use, especially considering my sensitivity to fragrances due to migraines.

Revlon: Sensitive Skin Friendly Skincare

Revlon has been a go-to brand for sensitive skin for decades, offering affordable products. However, their lack of cruelty-free status is a downside for me. Although they have some really nice products in their range, the use of fragrance in some of them is a major turn-off for me.

My Moisture Sur Line Cleanser

My moisture Sur line is wonderful uh. However, I picked this one up and I its not scented, but it is drying as heck and its one of those cleansers where you rinse it up, and your skin squeaks thats, not a good thing. Squeaky clean is not a good thing. That means youve. You might have damaged your skin or overdried it out so uh anyway, so this is in their lineup and their cleansing. Balm version of this everyone loves and its okay. I like it but anyway, something in here. Just dried the heck out of my skin, so I will try it again, but I just dont like that squeaky, clean feeling. You know what I mean its like too clean is not a good thing for skin. You dont want to damage your microbiome.

Vanny Cream Sunscreen

This product might be great for a lot of people because uh a lot of people love this brand and its vanny cream, and I really enjoy the brand. However, the sunscreen was just missed the mark for me. Uh there, Sun, swart sunscreen, its got 12 zinc oxide doesn’t have fragrance in. But for me this is super thick super white casty and just didn’t like it. Although you know what I get it they’re in the US, the US we’ve got terrible sunscreen filters. They haven’t approved a new one. I think in my Lifetime and that’s getting older by the day and they haven’t approved any new filters.

Neutrogena: Bright Boost Overnight Gel Cream

Neutrogena, known for some great products, missed the mark with their Bright Boost Overnight Gel Cream. The overpowering floral and citrus scent is simply too much, making it a product to avoid in my skincare routine.

Meishen: Snail Foam Cleanser

Meishen offers a variety of good products, but their Snail Foam Cleanser fell short for me. The strong scent and overly foamy texture left my skin feeling too squeaky clean, not in a good way. While Meishen has other noteworthy offerings, this one missed the mark for me.

Polish Choice: Unscrub

Polish Choice is renowned for their excellent skincare products, but every brand has a misstep. The Unscrub, in my opinion, is that misstep. The product feels strange on the skin, with its exfoliating beads causing more harm than good. This product definitely does not live up to the high standards set by Polish Choice’s other products.

Disappointing Cleanser from a Beloved Brand

One of the skincare products I hate from a brand I love is a cleanser that promised to leave my skin feeling refreshed and glowing. However, after using it for a few weeks, I noticed that my skin felt tight and stripped of its natural oils. The formula was too harsh for my sensitive skin, and it left me feeling like I needed to immediately follow up with a heavy moisturizer.

Over-Hyped Serum That Fell Flat

Another product that let me down was a serum from a reputable brand known for its innovative skincare solutions. I was excited to try this serum, as it claimed to target multiple skin concerns and improve overall skin texture. However, after using it consistently for a few months, I saw no visible results. My skin looked the same, and I didn’t notice any improvement in fine lines or hydration levels.

Mask That Missed the Mark

The last product that left me feeling disappointed was a mask from a renowned brand that usually delivers high-quality skincare products. This mask was supposed to brighten and tighten the skin, but all it did was leave a sticky residue that was difficult to wash off. I didn’t notice any significant improvements in my skin’s tone or texture after using it, and I was left feeling like I had wasted my time and money on a product that didn’t live up to its promises.
