Introduction to Remedy Skin by @Doctorly

Maneeb Shah, better known as Doctorly across social media, has finally been announced.. Today. Is the launch day. Youre seeing this video as one of the first reviews and first looks at the products themselves. So, although I am friends with Dr. Shah and Im very proud of him launching this, it was only a matter of time before we knew he was skincare routine.

Product Review

I want to give you an honest review of the products today. But Im telling you he knows what hes doing when it comes to launching these products. Were going to look at the three products announced in the original launch here and then Im going to go through Them one by one tell you what the ingredients are, what kind of skin type theyre going to be best for who should consider using these. And then at the end, were going to get into the pricing of these products. And were also going to talk about what I think is coming next for the brand.

Predictions and Insights

I have a few predictions and I really dont have a lot of insider information. I tried to quiz him a little bit when I saw him at the American Academy of Dermatology meeting where he gave me the products, but he really didnt share a whole lot of What was coming next for the brand, with maybe one exception. So I will be sharing my predictions with you. Let’s dive into the packaging of these products.

Packaging and Presentation

First, That’s clearly not the most important part, but I want you to take a look at them, So we have three products here and were gon na start with the ones in the boxes We have remedy for dark.

Packaging

Spots. Were going to break this down here. In a second but its a very simple packaging., Its not real, flashy. Uh weve got cardboard here and it is a stamped logo., So you can feel the texture to it and the texture on top.. When we look inside the box, theres really nothing in there. When we take the product out., So theres, no information additionally on the inside of the packaging, but weve got an ingredient list on the back.

Products Overview

Now lets dive into the products themselves and were going to go through the ingredients.. Now if there was a mission or an ethos of the brand, what I think is kind of that idea. Behind the brand is kind of contained on the side of one of these packages., We have clearly here do no harm.. So one of the things when Dr. Shah formulated these products is he wanted to make sure that the products were not going to cause more problems than they were trying to solve.

Remedy for Pore Size

Very similar for Remedy for pore size. Weve got the embossed logo texture. On top there. and everything else is the same. Highlighting the ingredients, the full ingredient list and the ethos of the brand.

Remedy for Lips

And then we have remedy for lips. Were going to break down those ingredients as well. Just a simple tube here.. This did not come in any box when he handed it to me.

Remedy for Dark Spots

Remedy Skin by @Doctorly offers a solution for treating existing dark spots and preventing new ones from forming. The packaging is well-thought-out, with an airless pump and an opaque chamber to protect the product from degradation due to sunlight exposure. Dark spots can be caused by various factors such as sun exposure, hormonal imbalances, or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

The key ingredients in this remedy include retinol and mandelic acid, both of which are known for their ability to improve cell turnover and fade dark spots. Retinol helps to accelerate the shedding of pigmented cells, while mandelic acid provides gentle exfoliation without causing irritation.

Ingredients and Benefits

The formula is free from fragrances and common allergens, making it suitable for sensitive skin. The combination of retinol and mandelic acid targets existing dark spots, while also preventing new ones from appearing. These ingredients work synergistically to fade hyperpigmentation and promote a more even skin tone.

Mandelic Acid Exfoliator

Mandelic acid is a very gentle exfoliator and it does a great job without leading to excess irritation. The way that a high strength, glycolic acid might.

Ingredients for Pigmentation

There are a number of ingredients in Remedy Skin that help address the causes of pigmentation production and deposition in the skin. Ingredients like kojic acid, glutathione, and licorice root extract can all work to inhibit the melanin production pathway that leads to pigmentation in the skin.

Treatments and Preventative Ingredients

Remedy Skin contains both treatments and preventative ingredients for pigmentation. In addition to addressing existing pigmentation, ingredients like tranexamic acid, niacinamide, silymarin, and acetylglucosamine help maintain skin health.

Impressive Product Formulation

The product impresses with its combination of various ingredients that work together to target pigmentation and maintain skin health. Despite the complexity of the formulation, there is no fragrance, no gritty texture, and no immediate irritation upon application.

Application Demonstration

When applied, the product, with its white cream consistency, spreads smoothly and evenly on the skin. There is no need to worry about any adverse reactions or discomfort upon use.

Remedy for Pore Size

The second product we’re going to dive into is a remedy for pore size. This is a common concern on social media, where people feel that they have enlarged pores. They don’t like the texture of their skin. Their pores look too large to them. Now the reality is, Everybody has pores on their skin. There’s like 20,000 of them on the face, and you cannot eliminate them and you really shouldn’t try. Also, I just want you to know that everybody has pores and we perceive problems in our own skin way more than most other people do.

So when we look at our skin in the mirror or even a magnifying mirror that some people have in their bathrooms that really amplifies our own concerns and our own insecurities. But I want you to remember that most people are way too concerned with their own appearance to be worrying about yours. So once again, when we dive into the highlighted ingredients, we have retinol again. And I think this is about a 0.1 percent retinol. If I remember right from my conversation with Dr. Shah.

So retinol is going to help again improve cell turnover, prevent those dead skin cells from sticking together and plugging up the pores so that they can slough off naturally. The next ingredient to help resolve the symptoms of enlarged pores is going to be salicylic acid. This is a beta hydroxy acid, and it does help to dissolve that oil on the skin.

Ingredients and Benefits

The Remedy Skin by @Doctorly contains salicylic acid, niacinamide, green tea, and perlite. Salicylic acid helps to exfoliate the skin and unclog pores, while niacinamide and green tea work to regulate oil production. It is important to note that these ingredients can only do so much in terms of controlling oil production, as genetics play a significant role in determining oil levels in the skin.

Perlite and its Role

One unique ingredient in this product is perlite, which acts as a mattifying agent on the skin. Perlite helps to absorb excess oil throughout the day, reducing the shiny appearance that often accompanies oil accumulation. This can be particularly beneficial for individuals who struggle with oiliness and are looking for a solution to combat shine.

Usage and Effectiveness

After using the Remedy Skin product, users may notice an improvement in the appearance of their pores. The combination of exfoliating ingredients, oil-regulating components, and mattifying agents work together to create a smoother, less oily complexion. While it may not completely change the genetic predisposition to oiliness, the product can help to manage and reduce the effects of enlarged pores.

Remedy Skin by @Doctorly – Dermatologist Review

Also, a white kind of gel cream texture here, a little bit more white appearance than the previous product. We’re going to treat the other side of the face. Still clearly, no fragrance, no irritation of the skin. Spreads easily into the facial hair on both sides.

So initial impressions of both products are really great.

Remedy for Dry Lips – A Hydrating Solution

The last product in the original launch for Remedy Skin is Remedy for Dry Lips. An all in one treatment for dry lips. I’m a big fan of Vaseline or Aquaphor, or another product called Dr. Rogers Restore, and they all help to hydrate the lips or to retain the moisture that your body produces inside the lips. However, one thing that Vaseline and Aquaphor don’t really do is actually put moisture on the skin of the lips. If you’re really dry, sometimes that’s a very nice thing to have – something that actually puts moisture on rather than just occludes the skin.

The highlighted ingredients in Remedy for Lips are ceramides, important lipids that your skin produces to help build the skin barrier. Squalane, an important fatty acid in the skin barrier, is an ethically sourced Squalene. The main sources of squalene are sugar cane in companies that don’t use animals, which this is one of them. Some other brands might get it from sharks, which is not ideal.

Ingredients and Peptides

So, I’m glad that this is ethically sourced. And then peptides. Peptides are little amino acid signaling molecules that when they get into the skin they can help trigger the production of other substances in the skin, whether that’s collagen production, whether that’s more hyaluronic acid production or a host of other things. I don’t know exactly what peptides are in this product, because we don’t have a full ingredient list here. It’s probably going to be on the website.

Prominent Ingredient: Petrolatum

And, of course, that’s going to be linked in the video description. And then the last ingredient, which is probably the most prominent ingredient here is petrolatum. Petrolatum is going to act as that occlusive and USP grade petrolatum in the United States is 100 percent safe.

Product Feel and Texture

So the product feels really nice on the skin. It’s not super heavy and greasy the way plain Vaseline is. It does blend in really well, and this would be very easy to keep in the pocket. It’s you know a very normal size for a lip balm. I like using it. There’s no fragrance. There’s no flavor to it. I think this would be a great product if you have really dry lips.

Hydration and Pricing

If you like a lip balm or if you’re on Accutane, even this is going to help replace hydration on the skin and not just occlude the skin to prevent water loss. So those are the three products that Remedy Skin is starting with. Let’s talk about the pricing of these products.

Remedy Skin by @Doctorly – Dermatologist Review

Remedy for Dark Spots

This product is priced at 38, positioning it in the middle range of skincare products. One pump is sufficient to cover the entire face, making it last approximately three to four months. While it may be more expensive than other options on the market, the amount of product you get justifies the cost.

Remedy for Poor Size

Priced at 32, this product offers good value for money. It is accessible to most people and provides long-lasting benefits. The reasonable price point makes it a viable option for those looking to improve their skin.

Remedy for Lips

At 16, this lip product is more expensive than traditional chapsticks. However, its superior quality justifies the price. While cheaper alternatives may work for some, this product is a step above, offering effective results for those willing to invest.

Usage Recommendations

Both the Remedy for Dark Spots and the Remedy for Poor Size are meant to be used once a day, typically at night. This regimen ensures optimal results and allows the products to work their magic while you sleep.

Remedy Skin: A Dermatologist Review

So this is not a twice a day: product. Thats, going to help you get more longevity out of each purchase.

Next Steps for Remedy Skin

What is next for the brand, however, So Remedy Skin. When we look at the packages we have here a little bit of a clue. Cleanse treat protect. Now both Remedy for dark spots and Remedy for pores are highlighted as skin treatments. We dont have any products that are in the cleanse or protect category. So my prediction is that those things are coming and I dont know when theyre going to come. Hopefully, sometime later this year, well see those.

SPF Development

Now SPF is going to take a lot longer time to develop because it requires a lot of additional testing and SPF is more expensive to produce. So were probably going to see SPF be one of the later products released from RemedySkin.

Future Products

My prediction is that were going to see a cleanser come out much sooner. I cant tell how many cleansers were going to see, but I would bet that were going to get cleansers for different skin types and maybe even some active cleansers, something with a salicylic acid or with a benzyl peroxide. Im not sure yet, but well see what comes. I think he has started out in a very good place, releasing just three products that specifically address some of the most common questions that I get on social media and that I know many other dermatologists get.

Antioxidant Product

Oh and one other future prediction that I didnt mention earlier Is I think, were going to get a vitamin C serum and I have no insight or knowledge on this, but we dont have any antioxidant in the existing products.

The Initial Release

We know we’re going to get a cleanser. It’s definitely going to be a sunscreen somewhere in there. But we don’t have an antioxidant. So I think that’s coming too. I’m very curious to know what your thoughts are on this initial release.

Purchase Consideration

Is this something that you plan to go buy? Of course, if you do, you can hit up the link down in the video description. This is not an affiliate link. I’m not getting any money off of doing this review. I just want to support a friend who I think has developed really good products and who is an excellent ambassador for the field of dermatology.

Engagement

Let me know what kind of questions you have down in the comments. Thanks for sticking around for this video. And if you guys aren’t subscribed to the channel yet hit that subscribe button. I’ve got some really cool things coming on the channel. I think you’ll like it.

Overall, Remedy for Dark Spots by @Doctorly is a promising solution for those struggling with pigmentation issues. The thoughtful packaging and high-quality ingredients make it a reliable choice for anyone looking to improve the appearance of their skin. With consistent use, this remedy has the potential to deliver noticeable results and enhance the overall health of your skin.
