The 1-Star YouTuber Products
You might love, and some of these YouTubers you might hate, but they all have one thing in common – brutal one-star reviews on some of their products. The reviews get worse as the video goes on.
Ryan’s Flavors Joy Ride Sour Candy
Let’s find out if they’re true. Ryan, aka the one-star review king, is known for his brutal reviews. He claimed that the Joy Ride sour candy is supposed to be a better-for-you option. However, after digging into some reviews, it seems like the taste might not be the only problem with this candy.
The Graphic Review
One particular review caught my attention. The reviewer mentioned that after eating three candies at the same time, they experienced severe gastrointestinal distress, to put it mildly. The review gets graphic, detailing symptoms like diarrhea, gas, and bloating. Not exactly an appetizing description.
Green Apple Delight
Despite the warnings from the previous reviews, I decided to give the green apple flavor a try. The candies were sticky to the touch, making me a bit wary. However, I popped one into my mouth and waited to see how it would taste.
I Tested 1-Star YouTuber Products
It is compared to like a full sugar sour strip. Oh its good, I wouldnt say its crazy sour. I would say its like half candy, half fruit, snack all right, one down two more supposedly until I go boom sour blue raspberry, its actually sour purple, raspberry that ones good strawberry. I like this one better for some reason: its a teeny, tiny bit more sour yep thats, the favorite so far pink lemonade. I dont think I like this one at all. It tastes kind of like cleaner thats, my least favorite. I would probably repurchase strawberry and the blue raspberry, but that also all depends on how my stomach feels allulose is a rare sugar that naturally occurs in fruits like figs and raisins figs and raisins theyll. Do that to you by the way shout out to Elena for inspiring this video idea and heres the next product.
Cassie AKA, blog lotes and her active War brand pop flex
Almost everything that they make the pop Flex Community rates so highly like pretty much everything On their website has five stars except one collection, the recent super super sculpt seamless collection definitely has lower ratings than normal. The material was odd band rolled down a few minutes into working out. Cant keep up. They slide down immediately, always slipping down constantly pulling these up. During workouts today, I have a couple of the seamless items she was going for like a denim inspired wash and they have look at the back.
Testing the Comfy Seamless Workout Set
Loky claims that this is the most comfy seamless workout set ever put on their body. They mentioned that the top is phenomenal, with great reviews, but the leggings seem to have some issues. The leggings feel snug through the thighs, and the waistband material is different from the rest of the legging. Despite these flaws, they find the set cute and comfy for wearing around the house.
Workout Test
During the workout, Loky wore printed underwear to see if the leggings would stay in place. Unfortunately, the leggings rolled down, and Loky didn’t bother adjusting them during the workout. However, they do appreciate other aspects of the set, leading them to rate it a two or maybe a three stars.
Nimia by Nikki Tutorials Makeup Palette
Nikki Tutorials, a YouTuber with 15 years of makeup tutorials and reviews, recently released a makeup palette. While there are some not-so-great reviews, they are quite vague, mentioning issues like a weird smell without much detail.
The Cheeky Flush Cream Blush in Pink Ranger
I bought this product and found it didn’t seem any different than others. The weirdest thing was the lack of reviews for most of the products. So, let’s change that. The blush comes with a mini Beauty Blender and a little paint pot in a very pink shade. I feel nervous about that. There’s also a lip gloss in a pretty gold color. And, of course, we’ll test out the eyeshadow palette.
Testing the Eyeshadow Palette
I’ve never seen an eyeshadow palette come with a little booklet of ideas like this one. I love that. I’m going to try and recreate the look from the booklet. It would have been even better if there was a QR code linking to a YouTube tutorial. I’ll give it my best shot, but no promises. The palette is beautiful.
Applying the Eyeshadows
I start in the crease with ‘swish swish’. This makeup look probably took hours to create, but I’ll try to do a 30-minute version. Let’s see how it turns out.
Testing the Cut Crease Palette
It is, I mean it’s not bad, for my first attempt at a cut crease. There is one more step, and it’s that little light line with the sparkles on it. But we have a product coming up later in the video that I think is going to help me with that final step. Oh, I do want to try out the blush though. I don’t know how much to use; this is scary. Oh yeah, it’s bright. Okay, definitely easier to blend than other cream blushes that I’ve used. Now we finish off this portion of the look with the gloss. It smells very vanilla. Oh wow, it’s definitely gold. Everything was pigmented, pretty easy to blend. The things I don’t like about this makeup look have nothing to do with the palette and everything to do with my makeup ability. I think I’m going to give it all five stars.
Review of Pokey Man’s Midnight Mini Cookies
Next up, we have Pokey Man and her Minus Snacks brand, specifically the Midnight Mini Cookies. These cookies have people riled up on the internet, and most of it stems from the price. These little cookies are $28 for a four-pack. They’re really small. Let’s read some actual reviews. Andri, Johnny, and Melina strongly do not recommend this product. One star. “Bad, so dry, tastes awful. I can’t believe I supported Pokey Man in this process. These taste like astronaut food. I can barely taste chocolate, to be fair.”
Astronaut Food Review
I love astronaut food. The freeze dried ice cream anyway lets see if the reviews are right. Honestly, there are so many healthy Oreos out there and Ive never liked a single one of them. I think the packages are different. Colors but theyre just the same cookie, I thought theyd be different: flavors theyre, all chocolate with velvety white chips and sea salt. Oh theyre, tiny, interesting, a serving size is seven cookies, but theyre literally like bite sized Okay, so weve got 24 whole cookies. Here in each package, in comparison, you get about 45 Oreos in a pack, and these are what like six books, all right lets test them.
Oreo Taste Test
You know what I think I actually like them. The microscopic white chocolate chips are giving nothing. You can like barely even tell those are there. They taste like if the mini chips, aoy and chocolate Teddy gums had a baby. Definitely the best healthy Oreo alternative Ive had gosh theyre, just so tiny, oh and theyre gluten free. Normally, I am grossed out by gluten free cookies, but 8 g of sugar for seven cookies, thats yeah, not terrible. My review for these cookies not worth the price, but also not worth the hate that theyve been getting YouTuber, Brad.
Mondo Hair Care Review
Mondos ex Mondo, hair care and hair color brand, and today we are looking at the super gloss. So I have never had shiny hair. My whole life Ive just been trying to achieve Pantene, shampoo, commercial level of shiny hair, so Im going to see if this product can help me look at the before and afters of this treatment.
Greasy Hair Treatment
Supposedly uh, I was excited about it and then I looked at some reviews: hair, heavy and greasy and looked greasy as well. I felt like this left my hair very weighed down and greasy. This is not what Im going for, but then the reviews take a turn. Not any difference or my hair actually felt stiffer and drier afterward hows that even possible left, my scalp itchy and a rash lets. Try it out, though, so here is the before of my hair, not terrible, but like theres, not really any shine to it. So I think we just lather it up on this feels so wrong to put on your dry hair but thats. What it says hey. Maybe I used way too much. I dont know I literally used like a third of the container. Now I wait 20 minutes wash it out dry, my hair and well see if its shinier, all right, hair is rinsed. The instructions are interesting because you just rinse it you dont, wash your hair with shampoo. You dont condition it nothing which it is kind of inconvenient cuz. I feel like I just washed my hair, but I didnt wash my hair okay. I will say that felt like it took twice as long as normal to blow dry, my hair. Does it look shiny, um, a little bit yeah? I dont know for all of the effort that it was. I feel like a good hair oil. Probably does this or a better job, so Im going to give this 2 and 1 half Stars next up
Emma Chamberlain’s Tea
Emma Chamberlain’s Chamberlain coffee, but today were specifically talking about the Tea, because for some reason the teas have the lowest ratings out of everything on the website.
Unveiling the Products
All right, there’s quite a few one stars, but here are some of my favorites – yuck gross flavor, extremely artificial taste. This tastes awful very much. The flavor of cough syrup. So let’s see, blue Macha latte with oat milk. Honestly, it sounds phenomenal. I also got hot chocolate with oat milk.
Initial Impressions
Okay, so far it’s not blue, but maybe once we add the water, it will turn blue, beautiful. The hot chocolate smells good – what’s going to happen? Oh, it’s pretty. The teas are $20. You get 10 servings, so $2 a tea, which isn’t cheap. But then I realized there’s also oat milk included in the tea, which, if you go to a coffee shop and order something with oat milk, they usually charge you a dollar or two extra.
Taste Test
Oh, I really like it. It’s very subtle and it really does have almost like a floral smell and taste to it. Possibly my favorite green tea I’ve had. But that’s not the one that had the worst reviews, it’s the matchas. We’re getting there. The hot chocolate – oh no, something’s really weird about it and it has like a weird dirty flavor to it is the only way I can think to describe it. Nope, that’s a no for me.
Exploring James Charles Brand Painted Cosmetics
One doesn’t have the nasty artificial flavor and it’s blue, so that’s cute five out of five. James Charles brand painted this is so interesting to me. This is the first time I have ever seen cosmetics in a literal paint tube. The packaging is actually incredible, with a sponge included.
1-Star Reviews
However, upon checking the one-star reviews, it seems that the general consensus is not as positive as one might expect. Many users found the packaging to be cheap and messy, the product size to be underwhelming, and the price to be too high for what you get. Trisha, for example, hated it so much that she had to weigh in three separate times, calling it horrendous, awful, and overpriced for its size.
Practicality Concerns
The biggest fear expressed by some users is that while the concept of these painted cosmetics is cool, they may not be very practical for everyday use. Are they just going to sit in the makeup drawer, unused and intimidating, for those who are not professional makeup wearers? Will these products end up being more of a collector’s item than a functional part of one’s beauty routine?
The Tiny Palette
For example, the palette included in the set is also described as tiny. This raises further questions about the value of the products and whether they are truly worth the investment, especially considering the feedback from dissatisfied customers.
Testing the Brushes
I also got the brushes cuz. Sometimes I feel like especially with a unique product like this. It gives it a better Fighting Chance if you use it with the tools its meant to be used with so yeah were finishing up.
This look, like I said, were missing that little light line with the glitter on it. So I thought that these paints would be the perfect thing to finish that off heres all the little sizes it comes with ghosted is the name of this color.
Trying to Achieve Precision
Okay, now lets put on our little palette. I dont know if any of his brushes are actually small enough for what I need them to do so Im actually going to use this little tiny one. Here we go.
Oh no, do I need an even smaller brush, or how do you get a line that small theres? No salvaging this its just done? We can pretend like thats what we were going for just an abstract art. Look: okay! That side went better its still nowhere near as thin as Nikkis line, but and with this video any hope I had of being a makeup.
Experimenting with the Colors
Artist is dashed well since were full on pre-shower makeup mode Im just going to mess around with the rest of some of these colors okay, my books are now open for birthday party face painting 2024 no, but that was really fun.
I would honestly say maybe its because Im a painter, but I felt like these paints were so much easier to blend than most eyeshadows, so I wouldnt say this is an everyday makeup set by any means, but its really fun.
Mr Beast Feastables Chocolate
This is specifically the new formula, so this was originally marketed as a better for you chocolate. There was definitely mixed opinions on the first bars that were launched, though, but apparently they made a lot of improvement. New flavor sucks awful taste bitter terrible, not tasty, lets see for ourselves, though, so the old one has 170 calories. 13 g of sugar. The new one has 160 15 g of sugar, well see if it really does taste better, okay, so its smaller, but its also thicker, so probably about the same amount of chocolate. Oh its creamier for sure I feel like people are trolling. This is good chocolate. This is one Im going to have to strongly disagree with the one star reviews. This might be five out of five stars for me, honestly.
FaZe Rug’s “One Up” Sour Candy Challenge
Its time to introduce you to the worst-rated YouTuber product. I think in existence. I dont think Ive seen ratings. This low on a product in general, 222 one-star reviews to be exact. This is YouTuber FaZe rugs, sour candy challenge called one up. One star the sour face you will make is because you were ripped off. My wife is more sour scam. It goes on theres. Hundreds of people that claim that they fully got scammed by this product, so all right, heres the packaging I mean, I feel, like they kind of nailed the packaging there. It is. It literally comes with a neutralizer thats how sour hes, claiming it to be suck on them for 30 seconds without making a face.
Testing the Products
All right lets make our neutralizer drink, although I dont think Ill be needing this. Based on the reviews.
The Candy Test
Theres our candies theres, probably like six or seven of them in here and theyre. Just these little cubes theyre goo, we pop three gummies three Gummies at once, huh all right, one, two three, oh Im, not supposed to make a face. I dont think I passed the challenge. I think I made a lot of faces and the sour is still there. So its not like its just the stuff on the outside the actual gummy itself is sour. I dont think I can eat the whole thing. Okay, theyre. Definitely sour, I dont know if theyre sour enough that you would need like a neutralizer see if this neutralizer does anything tastes like the the fun dipsticks, but in drink form, does it deserve the one star hate it was getting? No is it the best sourest candy Ive ever had also no.
The Aftermath
It is later and I have a joy ride. Tummy update, I did not go boom. In fact, I feel totally fine if you have a sensitive stomach, maybe its not for you, but for most people. Its probably fine.
Recognizing the Effort
I know that the title and the idea behind this video was kind of negative, but I do have to say I am so proud of each and every one of these YouTubers, its so much work to make Brands and products like this.
After consuming a few candies, I can confirm that the reviews were not exaggerating. The green apple flavor might have 80% less sugar, but it certainly doesn’t lack in the gastrointestinal discomfort department. I started feeling the effects shortly after finishing the candies.
Final Thoughts
It’s always interesting to see the disparity between marketing claims and actual consumer experiences. The one-star reviews for these YouTuber products were not unfounded, as I sadly experienced firsthand. If you’re looking for a treat that won’t leave you rushing to the restroom, it might be best to steer clear of these one-star wonders.
What is making this so blue? Butterfly pea powder? Okay, here we go. I like it. The matcha is not too strong.
