The Ordinary Glucoside Foaming Cleanser

The first skincare product I’m reviewing is The Ordinary Glucoside Foaming Cleanser. This cleanser retails for $14.80 Canadian at Sephora and comes with 150 ml of product. It is a gentle foaming cleanser that cleans the skin while helping maintain the skin’s moisture barrier. This product won the Allure Best in Beauty award, which piqued my interest. However, when I tried it on its own, it left quite a bit of makeup behind, disappointing me.

Second Skincare Product

Next, I tried another skincare product, which is…

Makeup Product

Lastly, the makeup product I tested was…

Product Review: Cleanser

In usually work in a cleanser into my skin for at least 30 seconds to make sure like Im, breaking everything down and cleaning my skin properly, but big disappointment on its own definitely did not love it second way I used. It was as part of the double cleansing routine and there it performed a little better because it got the help of the balm first, where I used the balm to break down my makeup as a first step and then went in with this one. As a second step to really remove whatever is Left Behind and it did pretty well, it didnt do great as well as like my sah ve uh cleanser that I use, but it did well enough.

Product Smell: Detergent-like

I did have to go in and just clean up some tiny bit of makeup that was left behind, but it didnt do too bad. The thing that I really dislike about this product is the smell. It has like this old school detergent smell, and I just really cant stand it like. It reminds me of like this old school detergent that my grandma used to use to do our laundry when I was a kid and I just the smell is just not it.

Skin Feeling: Not Stripped

For me, I did not love it um, but overall I did like how, when I used it on my face it didnt strip, my skin, it did leave my skin feeling nice, it didnt leave it feeling tight or dry, so that is definitely a plus, but as A cleanser I dont think it performed as well as it should have.

The Ordinary Glycolic Acid – Skincare Review

So this is a no for me. I definitely wont repurchase this again, so I will pass next. Skincare product is also by the ordinary and its there.

What is Glycolic Acid?

Glycolic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid or AHA and it has the smallest size molecules of all the AHAs, which means it can penetrate the skin better and exfoliate more effectively than other AHAs, like lactic acid, for example. This specific one is a 7% glycolic acid, so means a bit milder. So if you have sensitive skin, this might be a good option for you.

Usage and Results

I would recommend doing a patch test first, even if you don’t have sensitive skin whenever you try a new product. Just do a little patch test on your face to make sure that there’s no reaction, no irritation. I love when I usually like put some in my hand and then I’ll go and apply it press it into my skin and then I’ll go in with my moisturizer as part of my nighttime skincare routine and that’s it. I love when I wake up in the morning after using this, my skin feels so smooth just the texture of it feels lovely, and my makeup goes on really nicely, so I definitely have seen great results from this.

Other Uses

I did see that people are using it also on their scalp um. I have not done that, but stay tuned. If I do because I do tend to get some dryness on my scalp, if I do use it on my scalp, I will definitely let you know how that worked.

Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial Mini Review

Um this one retails for this is the 100ml one, so its considered the mini and it retails for 10.19 Canadian at Sephora, and they do have a larger size, which is 240 M, and I think that one retails for like 15 around 15 Ill put all that Info on the screen for you guys, but this is an absolute yes for me. I have been loving this since I started using it. I use it twice a week as part of my nighttime skincare routine, and I do not mix it with my retinol. So I just use it on its own and a moisturizer, and that is it and I love the results. I will definitely repurchase this again.

The Ordinary 1% Retinol in Squalane Mini Review

The next skincare product is by the ordinary again and I did not realize I had this many ordinary products to talk to you guys about today, but here we are, but this is the last one I promise. So this one is the ordinary 1 retinol in squalling, and I have to say I love squalling any time a product has squalling in it. Im pretty excited to try it because I know Ill get a nice level of moisture added to my skin and some PL plumpness, and I love retinol to me. Retinol is one of the best anti aging ingredients out there and 1 retinol is the strongest. You can get over the counter, so I was really excited to see that theres a pure 1 retinol with squalling in it, and this one retails for 12.

Retinol Skincare Product Review

If you’re looking for an affordable retinol product, look no further than the one available at Sephora for just $10 Canadian. When I first got my hands on this retinol, I was thrilled. I incorporate it into my nighttime skincare routine by applying four to five drops on my face and neck. But here’s a little trick – I also apply it on the back of my hands to fight signs of aging. The added moisture is a nice bonus, making it worth the extra step.

Application and Results

After applying the retinol, I follow up with a moisturizer and my skin feels incredibly hydrated. The results have been remarkable, comparable to more expensive retinol products I’ve tried in the past. It’s become an essential part of my skincare regimen and I will definitely be repurchasing it in the future. The affordability of this product makes it a great choice for those looking to start their retinol journey.

Strength Options

It’s important to note that this retinol comes in different strength options. The one I use is the strongest available over the counter, so if you’re new to retinol, it’s best to start with a lower strength. However, if you’re looking for an effective and budget-friendly retinol, this product is definitely worth trying out.

Retinol Serum

They also have a 0.5, which is like medium strength, and they also have a 0.2, which is a mild one, so I would say, if you’re starting out, maybe start out with a 0.2, because with retinol you want to build your tolerance to it. You don’t want to start with the strongest and burn your face off.

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream

The next skincare product is by First Aid Beauty, and this one is the Ultra Repair Cream, intense hydration, for dry parched skin. This one is the 60 ml. It comes with about 60 milliliters, its the tube and this one retails for 24.50 Canadian at Sephora. They also have a giant tub of this, which is 237 milliters of product, which is a lot and that one retails for 65 Canadian. So for a high-end moisturizer. The amount of product you get for the 65, I think, that’s a really good price.

When it comes to how well this performed, I absolutely loved it. I think it did such a good job. It blends really nicely into the skin and absorbs beautifully into the skin, and it helped my skin hold on to that moisture. It leaves a nice dewy look but not greasy, and in the morning when I would wake up even in the winter, when I would wake up, my skin still felt moisturized and hydrated. Lastly, it really set my skin up nicely for makeup application. So I would put this on wait about 5 minutes or so and then put on my makeup and my makeup went on really nicely and it even helped with the longevity of the makeup.

Makeup Review:

The makeup lasted really nicely throughout the day, and my skin didn’t get super greasy or oily later on. It just went on beautifully. So if you have really dry skin, I would highly recommend giving this a try and even if you have sensitive skin, this might be a good option. I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re oily, if you have oily skin or combination skin.

Texture and Blendability:

This might be a bit too much. I’ll even show you on the back of my hand, here it’s a bit thick at first, when it goes on just a tiny bit like it’s a little bit thick, but once you start blending it out, it feels super lightweight. It almost feels a bit gel-like once you start blending it in and you can really feel the hydration. It blends in super quickly, and it just leaves a nice glowy dew to the skin and it doesn’t feel greasy or oily, it’s just lovely.

Moisturizer Review:

So I was really impressed with this one. I do recommend it. I think it’s great. Would I buy it again? Maybe not. I just have other moisturizers that are more affordable that are just as good like the cave moisturizing cream, which is a lot more affordable, so I’ll stick with that one. But this is definitely a fantastic moisturizer. So if you’re looking for something that’s a bit more heavy-duty, this one is a really good option.

AM Moisturizer Review:

The last skin care product is by cave, and this one is their AM moisturizer. It’s great for dry and sensitive skin, leaving a nice glowy look without feeling greasy. Overall, a good option for those looking for a heavy-duty moisturizer.

Facial Moisturizing Lotion with SPF 30

No facial moisturizing lotion with SPF 30, so this one has hyaluronic acids, ceramides and iamdes in it. So it really adds a nice level of moisture and hydration to the skin. This one retails for 19.50, Canadian at a drugstore and it comes with 89 M of product and has this nice little pump dispenser that dispenses product really well.

Judging Criteria for Moisturizer

I have three categories that I usually like to judge a moisturizer by how well does it get absorbed into The skin and blend into the skin, how well does it help my skin hold on to moisture? And, thirdly, how well does it help set up my skin for makeup application in the first category? This one does not do well at all when you first start to blend it in it has it feels like its going to have a thicker texture, but it doesnt it feels lightweight, but it has this weird white cast that you really have have to work at Blending in and theres times where I will blend this in really well and then Ill turn my head and theres like a streak of like this moisturizer just sitting on my face, and I need to like blend that in really well and it just it. Just takes a bit of work to blend in so I didnt love that about it and it leaves a bit like a touch. A touch of a white cast on my face and Im already pretty pale.

Tinted Moisturizer Foundation

I don’t need any more help. Looking like Casper the ghost, so I need to follow this up with some sort of a tinted moisturizer Foundation to help give my skin some color and some life. How well does this help my skin hold on to moisture? It’s fantastic because of the Nomis, the ceramides, the hyaluronic acid, all the good stuff it’s got in it. It really helps my skin hold on to moisture. It makes my skin plump and all day my skin feels really nice and moisturized and hydrated.

Makeup Application

When it comes to setting up my skin for makeup application, yes, it does help with the longevity of the makeup. However, you really have to make sure you blend this in really well, and there is a bit of a greasiness factor to this one. Not a lot, but a bit more than others. This one did not have that greasiness factor when you blend it in. I feel like I need to wait a bit longer before I put on my makeup to let it really soak into my skin before I go in with Foundation.

Longevity and Wearability

Once I put my foundation on, it lasts beautifully throughout the day and really helps with the longevity and wearability of the makeup. It’s good. Would I repurchase it again? Absolutely not. There are better moisturizers that I could use for the daytime, and I would just rather use my SPF on its own.

YSL All Hours Concealer

This is a full coverage, soft matte finish concealer that is supposed to be longwearing with up to 24 hours of wear. It retails for 56 Canadian dollars and comes in 18 different shades, with the shade lc2 being used in this review. Unfortunately, my experience with this concealer was not great. I found that it creased a lot, settling into fine lines and making its way into any creases on my face. While I understand that makeup creasing is inevitable, the level of creasing with this product was excessive and distracting.

Nars Creamy Concealer

On the other hand, the Nars creamy concealer is a different story. While it may crease once throughout the day, a quick patting motion is usually all it takes to fix it. I have found that this concealer blends well and provides good coverage without settling into fine lines. Unlike the YSL concealer, it does not feel like its sole purpose is creasing. Overall, the Nars creamy concealer has been a reliable option for me when it comes to concealing under-eye circles.

Product Review: Concealer

The concealer reviewed by Cristina Maria did not wear well throughout the day and wore off in certain spots. However, it did not dry out her skin and had a soft matte finish, providing a nice level of hydration. The applicator, in the shape of a diamond, was really nice and gentle on the skin.

Coverage and Performance

Cristina Maria mentioned that the concealer is not a true full coverage product, more of a medium to full coverage option. She prefers medium coverage concealers and found this one to be somewhat lacking. While she appreciated the hydration it provided, she believes that there are better and more affordable concealers available in the market.

Applicator Design

Despite not being completely satisfied with the coverage and wear of the concealer, Cristina Maria loved the sponge tip applicator. The diamond-shaped applicator felt nice on the skin and applied the product smoothly. However, she concluded that the overall product was good but not great, and she would not purchase it again.

Foundation: Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless

The Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless foundation is a staple in my makeup routine. It provides great coverage without feeling heavy on the skin. The matte finish helps control my oily T-zone throughout the day, and the shade range is impressive. This foundation truly lives up to its poreless claim, giving my skin a smooth and flawless appearance.

Concealer: Tarte Shape Tape

The Tarte Shape Tape concealer is a cult favorite for a reason. Its full coverage formula can cover even the darkest under-eye circles and blemishes. The creamy texture blends easily without creasing, and a little goes a long way. I love how bright and awake my under-eyes look after using this concealer.

Setting Powder: Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder

The Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder is a game-changer for locking in my makeup all day. It mattifies without looking cakey and blurs out any imperfections. The finely-milled powder feels lightweight on the skin and helps my makeup stay in place without any touch-ups needed.

Skincare: The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%

I have incorporated The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% into my skincare routine, and it has made a noticeable difference in my skin. The niacinamide helps reduce the appearance of pores and control oil production, while the zinc keeps breakouts at bay. My skin looks clearer and more balanced since using this serum.

Lipstick: MAC Satin Lipstick in Twig

The MAC Satin Lipstick in Twig is the perfect everyday shade for me. The satin finish is comfortable to wear and gives my lips a subtle sheen. The color is a gorgeous mauve with hints of pink and brown, complementing a variety of makeup looks. I love how long-lasting and hydrating this lipstick is.

Cristina Maria expressed her gratitude to her viewers and invited them to share their experiences with the reviewed products. She is open to suggestions for future reviews and encouraged her audience to engage with her channel. While the concealer had some positive aspects, overall, it did not meet her expectations and fell short in terms of coverage and longevity.
