Trying Flower Beauty Products | Drew Barrymore’s Drugstore Makeup Line | Dominique Sachse

Exploring the FL Flower Cosmetic Line

As someone who has been dabbling in drugstore cosmetics lately, I was excited to try out a new line called FL Flower by Drew Barrymore. This cruelty-free lime offers a wide range of products with impressive colors and features, especially when it comes to mattifying foundations and concealers. I knew these would work well for me, particularly in an on-camera setting, but they could also be perfect for an evening date night or a special occasion where a matte and polished finish is desired.

With my recent purchase from Ulta, I was eager to walk you through my experience of trying out these new products. Although buying online can sometimes be a bit of a gamble, I was willing to take the risk and see how these cosmetics performed. However, I quickly realized that I had forgotten to purchase a mascara, so a spontaneous trip to CVS was in order.

Tracking Down the Mascara

Not every CVS carries the FL Flower line, so finding the mascara became a bit of a wild goose chase. After visiting two different CVS stores without any luck, the third time proved to be the charm. There, tucked away on the shelves, was the mascara I had been searching for. With my complete set of FL Flower products in hand, I was now ready to create a full face makeup look for you.

The Excitement of Discovering New Products

Unpacking the newly purchased FL Flower products filled me with anticipation and excitement. The array of colors, textures, and finishes offered by this line is truly impressive. The packaging is sleek and elegant, adding to the overall appeal of the products.

I began by trying out the mattifying foundation, which promised a flawless finish for my on-camera appearances. The consistency was smooth and easy to blend, instantly transforming my skin into a smooth canvas. The concealer, too, lived up to its claims, effectively hiding any imperfections or under-eye circles.

A Versatile Makeup Line

FL Flower not only offers products for a more polished look but also caters to those seeking a natural, everyday appearance. For a daytime look, their tinted moisturizers provide just the right amount of coverage, giving the skin a healthy glow.

The eyeshadow palette I tried was a perfect mix of neutral and bold shades, allowing for both subtle and dramatic eye looks. The pigmentation was impressive, and the shadows blended effortlessly.

The Final

Overall, my experience with the FL Flower cosmetics from Drew Barrymore’s drugstore makeup line was extremely positive. The products delivered on their promises and offered a wide range of options for different makeup looks and occasions. For those on a budget or simply looking for quality drugstore makeup, I would highly recommend giving FL Flower a try. With its cruelty-free philosophy, impressive range of products, and affordable prices, it may just become your new go-to brand.

The Foundation: Flower Light Illusion Luminous Makeup

The first product I tried from Drew Barrymore’s Flower Beauty line is the Light Illusion Luminous Makeup. I chose the shade “Classic Tan,” which matches my skin tone perfectly. As I applied it with a brush, I couldn’t help but compare it to the Nars matte finish foundation. To my surprise, the coverage was fantastic. It provided a flawless and natural look that lasted all day. Whether you prefer using a brush, sponge, or your fingers, this foundation is versatile and easy to apply. Just remember to blend it slightly below the jawline for a seamless finish.

The Smooth Operator: Flower Skin Smooth Smoothing Primer

To achieve a smooth and even canvas for the foundation, I started by applying the Flower Skin Smooth Smoothing Primer. This product glided effortlessly onto my clean and lightly moisturized face. It helped minimize the appearance of pores and fine lines, creating a silky finish. I especially appreciated that it didn’t feel heavy or greasy on my skin. It definitely prepped my face for flawless foundation application.

A Whirl with Flower Beauty: SC Whirl Matte Power Blush

Next, I reached for the SC Whirl Matte Power Blush to add a natural flush of color to my cheeks. The shade I picked was perfect for my skin tone, but keep in mind that personal preferences may vary. This blush had a smooth texture that blended effortlessly and gave a matte finish. It provided a subtle pop of color without overpowering my overall makeup look. It definitely added a nice touch to my complexion.

Flower Beauty’s Secret Weapon: Nude Skin Feel All Day Wear SPF18

For a lightweight and natural-looking coverage, I tried the Nude Skin Feel All Day Wear foundation. This product is perfect for those who prefer a more minimalistic makeup routine. I opted for the shade “SC,” which matched my skin tone beautifully. It felt weightless on my skin and gave a soft, matte finish. I appreciated the added SPF18, as it provided extra protection for my skin throughout the day. If you’re looking for a foundation that feels like you’re wearing nothing at all, this is definitely worth considering.

A Final Reminder: The Importance of Sun Protection

Before wrapping up, I would like to remind you of the importance of sun protection. While I didn’t feel the need to apply SPF separately as I was staying indoors, I always carry a powder SPF for touch-ups when I’m out and about. If you forget to apply SPF in the morning, this is a great alternative to protect your skin on the go. Remember, even on days when we stay indoors, UV rays can still reach our skin through windows, so it’s crucial to prioritize sun protection.

Overall, trying Flower Beauty products from Drew Barrymore’s drugstore makeup line was a positive experience. Each product I tested exceeded my expectations in terms of quality and performance. Whether it was the flawless coverage of the Light Illusion Luminous Makeup or the smooth application of the Skin Smooth Smoothing Primer, Flower Beauty proved to be a reliable and affordable option in the world of cosmetics. I can confidently say that I will continue exploring more products from this brand and recommend it to others looking for high-quality drugstore makeup.

Foundation Woes and a Solution

When it comes to applying foundation, many of us tend to make a common mistake – pulling it down onto our necks. However, I recently discovered that this can actually highlight the lines and wrinkles on our necks, making them more pronounced. So instead of using foundation on my neck, I have found a better alternative – using a bronzer to color correct. Not only does this technique provide a more natural look, but it also helps to cover any imperfections on the neck.

An Impressive Foundation

I have been on the hunt for a good foundation for quite some time now, and I am happy to report that I have finally found one that I am truly impressed with. The coverage it provides is absolutely amazing. It not only evens out my skin tone beautifully but also gives it a flawless finish. I must say, I am extremely pleased with the results.

A Missing Piece

While testing out Flower Beauty products, I did come across one slight disappointment – the absence of an eyelid primer. As someone who struggles with red and discolored eyelids, I find that using an eyelid primer is essential to even out the color and help my eyeshadow adhere better. However, I could not find a specific eyelid primer from Flower Beauty, which was a bit disheartening.

A Concealer to the Rescue

To address my eyelid concerns, I decided to give Flower Beauty’s concealer a try. I opted for their Get Real Serum Concealer, which promises hydrating, brightening, and smoothing effects. The concealer also claims to help with lines underneath the eyes, which is another issue I struggle with. Although it’s not recommended to use concealer on the eyelids, I have found that as long as I choose a concealer with a matte finish that complements my skin tone, it works well for me and helps my eyeshadow stay in place.

Setting the Look

To ensure that my concealer stays put throughout the day, I always make sure to set it with powder. Flower Beauty also offers a loose powder that can be used to set the concealer. Setting the concealer not only helps it last longer but also prevents any mishaps like makeup sliding down into the eyes or under-eye area. It’s a step that I never skip, and I’m glad that Flower Beauty provides a loose powder option to achieve this.

While trying out Flower Beauty products, I have come across some hits and misses. The foundation and concealer have proven to be great additions to my makeup routine, providing excellent coverage and helping me achieve a flawless complexion. However, the absence of an eyelid primer was a slight setback for me. Nonetheless, overall, I am quite satisfied with the results of using Flower Beauty products.

Translucent Miral Matte Translucent Finishing Powder

When I first opened the Translucent Miral Matte Translucent Finishing Powder, there was a bit of spillage on the outside. I accidentally shook it too vigorously. Nevertheless, I proceeded to use it for setting my makeup. The powder helped to mattify my skin and set my foundation in place. It provided a velvety finish that was not too heavy or cakey.

Flower Brow Pencil in Medium Brown

For my eyebrows, I used the Flower Brow Pencil in Medium Brown. This pencil is perfect for creating natural-looking brow hairs. It has a thin tip that allows for precise application, and it also comes with a handy brush on the other end. I found the shade Medium Brown to be a good match for my natural hair color. It had just the right amount of warmth to complement my complexion without looking too ashy or dark.

Accentuating Brows

I have covered half of my brows with foundation, as is my usual practice. Now, I need to bring them back to life and make them more defined. Even if you have naturally thick brows, a little bit of accentuating can go a long way in enhancing your overall makeup look. As we age, our brows tend to become less prominent, so it’s important to give them some extra attention. Over-plucking in my younger years has left me with sparse brows, but with the right products, I can still achieve a fuller and more defined look.

The Importance of Brows

Brows may seem like a small detail, but they can truly make a difference in framing the face and completing a makeup look. When I do a full face of makeup, my brows tend to get lost if I don’t give them some extra definition. This is especially true for women of a certain age, whose brows may have thinned or become less noticeable over time. If you were lucky enough to avoid over-tweezing and have naturally thick brows, count yourself blessed. Unfortunately, I did not appreciate what I had and ended up ruining my natural brow shape.

The Flower Beauty products I tried, including the Translucent Miral Matte Translucent Finishing Powder and the Flower Brow Pencil in Medium Brown, have proven to be effective in enhancing my makeup look. The finishing powder provided a matte and velvety finish, while the brow pencil allowed me to create natural-looking brow hairs. Brows may be a small detail, but they play a significant role in framing the face and completing a makeup look, especially for women of a certain age.

I know I’m preaching to the choir, right? Thank you, 90s. So for the eyeshadow look, I wanted to do a complete departure from what I normally do. I generally zone in on the warm tones, the nudes, the peaches, the browns, and I just, you know, I want to be able to show more cool tones and some variety here, especially since we’re heading into fall.

Eyeshadow Palette

Things can lean a little bit more cool-toned with the plums and the berries. So the eye palette and the cheek need to match as well. I went with this eyeshadow palette from Flower Beauty called “Petal Play Shadow Quad.” There’s kind of a neutral, a plum, a gray, and a little bit of a frost there. A lot of her eyeshadows were very shimmery, but this one felt the most toned down. They do have a little bit of shimmer, but not too much to be offensive in any way.

The Smokey Eye Look

I’m going to go in with this kind of purple color on my right and do my eyelid. I’m going for a smokey eye this morning. It has been a while, hasn’t it, since you’ve seen me do a smokey eye? I’m just feeling it. These colors are just great for that kind of a look. I’m going to do just a little bit of this gray on the outside to cool it down. Come in on the bottom, back with the purple color to smoke out that lash line.

Eyeliner

I’ll come in with the eyeliner now, the Flower Longwear in Onyx. It’s the blackest black. I’m going to do my upper rim and then just a light smudge on the lower lash line. A smokey eye is not complete without some smudged eyeliner, right?

Cheek Color

For the cheeks, I wanted something that would complement the cool tones on the eyes. I chose a blush from the Flower Beauty line in a shade that adds a subtle flush to the cheeks, without overpowering the look. It’s always important to find products that work harmoniously together.

Final Thoughts

Trying out the Flower Beauty products by Drew Barrymore has been a refreshing experience. It’s always interesting to step out of our comfort zones and explore new tones and shades. The eyeshadow palette provided a good range of cool tones, perfect for fall. The eyeshadows had a subtle shimmer that added just the right amount of dimension without being overpowering. The eyeliner delivered intense black color and the longevity was impressive. Overall, Flower Beauty offers quality drugstore makeup that is worth trying out.

Trying Flower Beauty Products

Today, I ventured into the world of Flower Beauty, Drew Barrymore’s very own drugstore makeup line, in collaboration with Dominique Sachse. With high hopes and curious anticipation, I delved into this beauty journey, eager to discover what this line had to offer.

Eyes that Pop

First, I focused on the eyes. I began by flicking out a delicate line, adding a touch of drama to my look. As I allowed my eyes to settle, I realized the need to soften the borders and blend the shadow for a more seamless finish. The concealer I applied beforehand provided a solid base, eliminating the need for a brow highlight. With gentle strokes, I smoothed and softened the shadow, achieving a natural, effortless look.

Mascara Magic

Now, it was time to experiment with mascara. My quest led me to Flower Dream Warrior Volumizing Mascara. With each stroke of the wand, I witnessed a lift like no other. Who doesn’t enjoy a little lift in every laughter-filled moment? My lashes were instantly transformed, easily becoming the centerpiece of my eyes.

Long and Luscious Lashes

Before I continue, I cannot contain my excitement to share a lash growth serum I’ve been using for the past three months. After removing my eyelash extensions, I was left with patchy and short lashes. Determined to revive their former glory, I embarked on a journey with this product. And boy, did it work! Just take a look at my lashes now. They are undeniably my own, full of life and length. Keep an eye out for a possible social media post detailing this incredible find.

I will pop back in after I’ve done all my shooting just to show you how the makeup is wearing, because that’s really important, right. A lot of things can look great right when applied, but you know fall down your face a few hours later.

Concealer Conundrum

So here is my conundrum. I ordered online, a concealer that was a little on the dark side. So then I don’t want to be on the dark side. So when I went to my CVS and I found a concealer, it went too far on the light side, so I probably are I’m going to have to marry these two.

The Skinny One: Light Illusion Full Coverage Concealer

The skinny one is called Light Illusion Full Coverage Concealer. As I said, it was a little on the dark side, but consistency-wise I’m hoping that we’re kind of in the same family, close enough. When I did dabble with this and try, I noticed that my concealer, nothing wrong with it, it’s very, very close to my foundation color. So it didn’t give me any kind of highlight effect.

The Flour Get Real Serum Concealer

On the other hand, the Flour Get Real Serum Concealer blew out my under-eye area. This color, I think, was vanilla and this one, oh boy. I think they should, when they name things, I think it should just be all over it.

Trying Flower Beauty Products

I finally got my hands on the much-talked-about Flower Beauty products, created by none other than the talented Drew Barrymore. There has been so much buzz surrounding this drugstore makeup line, and I couldn’t wait to see if it lived up to the hype.

Perfecting My Base

First up, the foundation. The problem is, it’s so tiny that I can’t even find it! After a bit of searching, I manage to locate it and list it as promised. Finally, I can give it a try.

As I apply the foundation, I notice that it is a shade lighter than my usual foundation. However, to my surprise, it provides excellent coverage, effectively concealing my under-eye circles. I’m impressed with how natural it looks on my skin, and I hope it translates well on camera too.

Setting the Scene

To set my foundation and reduce any shine, I reach for the translucent powder. Instead of using a puff, I opt for a brush to ensure a lighter application. I’ve had instances where a puff leaves a circle of powder on my face, which looks less than ideal.

I also have a separate powder just for my under-eye area, to ensure it sets without appearing heavy. I tend to get shiny in the inner crease, so I focus a bit more powder in that area. As for the rest of my face, I avoid applying too much powder, as I don’t want it to look cakey.

Color Correction

One product I was particularly curious to try was the Light Illusion Perfecting Powder. I thought it could serve as a color corrector if the foundation shade didn’t quite match my neck. With a bit of experimentation, I apply the powder, hoping for the best.

Well, let’s just say that it’s not the right color for me. Oops. I may have gone a bit too light, or perhaps it’s not blending as seamlessly as I had hoped. Nonetheless, I appreciate the concept of having a powder to correct any color discrepancies.

A Final

Overall, my experience with Flower Beauty products has been quite positive. The foundation offers great coverage and a natural finish, while the translucent powder helps to set my makeup without leaving any noticeable residue. Though the color corrector powder wasn’t a match for me, I can see how it could be useful for others.

I’m excited to continue experimenting with these products and see how they fare in different lighting and settings. But for now, I can confidently say that Flower Beauty has made its mark in the drugstore makeup world, and I can’t wait to explore more of Drew Barrymore’s creations.

Trying Flower Beauty Products

I smudge again, no hard lines. It gives some definition. The shadowing creates that sort of look of a fuller lip and a pout, especially if you ride it just underneath the part of the lower lip where it bends, but you got to be careful. You don’t want to overdraw, because then it’s clownish, and then the lip color. So again, again, I’m going for a real cool cool cool tone. Lipstick looks like so, and oh my gosh, it’s got like this reflection, is it blushed Rose. It looks like blush rose again in the description portion of this video. Okay, yes, very silky, it’s got its hydrating. I know a lot of you will like that. Not everybody can do a super mattifying lipstick. So this is nice and creamy. I love it. I absolutely love the color selection here. I think it’s all just super nice.

Setting the Look

Now I need to set it and forget it, and I got a couple of setting sprays. Okay, this is a hydrating spray, so I don’t want that. This Jet Set invisible powder spray. Yes, okay, think I did it right. Should have read the instructions, it’s a setting powder to help control shine. Okay, that’s good. That’s my goal here: we’ve set it oh, I forgot um, the Brows there’s, a brow gel that I want to hold everything in place. This is fiberfix brow gel in brunette. I’m so glad I kind of did a once over here. I’m a big fan of using brow gels for whatever hairs you have, it gets them upward and staying in place.

Long-Lasting and Matte Finish

After a full day of wearing Flower Beauty products, I must say that I am pleasantly surprised by the results. The makeup was applied early in the morning, around 7-7:30 am, and it is now 4:00 pm. As promised, the finished look is nice and matte. When I say matte, I truly mean it. Throughout the years, I have tried various matte makeup products, and by the end of the day, there is usually some shine that breaks through. However, with Flower Beauty, there is only a minimal amount of shine, almost unnoticeable. In fact, just a teensy amount appeared right here on my face.

Touch-Ups and Longevity

To address the minimal shine that appeared, I decided to touch up with the Flower Miracle matte pressed powder. This translucent powder worked wonders in just 2 seconds, completely eliminating any shine. It truly impressed me. Throughout the day, I only had to touch up my lipstick a couple of times, and even after eating, it left behind a subtle stain. The longevity of this makeup line is impressive.

A Winning Makeup Line

Overall, I am extremely impressed with Flower Beauty. The quality of the products, their affordable price point, and the wide range of color options make it a winning makeup line. Drew Barrymore has truly knocked it out of the park with Flower Power. I highly recommend this line, which is available at both Ulta and CVS. It’s great to be able to try something new that fits within a certain budget. Especially with the holidays approaching, it’s important to be mindful of our spending and avoid overspending. Flower Beauty offers a quality makeup line that won’t break the bank, and that’s something we can all appreciate.

Trying Flower Beauty Products

Today, we are going to dive into the world of Flower Beauty products, which is Drew Barrymore’s drugstore makeup line. I have heard so many great things about this brand, so I am excited to try them out and see if they live up to the hype. Let’s get started!

First Impressions

As I unbox the package, I am immediately impressed by the sleek and chic packaging of Flower Beauty products. The products come in beautiful floral-inspired designs, which is no surprise considering the name of the brand. The packaging definitely stands out among other drugstore makeup brands and gives a high-end feel.

Face Products

I start off with the face products, and the first one I try is the Flower Beauty Light Illusion Foundation. The foundation claims to provide a luminous and natural-looking finish, and I have to say, it definitely delivers. It blends effortlessly into my skin, giving me a radiant glow without looking heavy or cakey.

Next, I move on to the Flower Beauty Powder Trip Setting Powder. This powder is finely milled and sets my makeup in place without making my skin look dry or powdery. It helps to control shine and keeps my makeup looking fresh throughout the day.

Eye Products

Now let’s move on to the eye products. I try out the Flower Beauty Warrior Princess Mascara, and boy, does it give me some serious volume and length! The mascara wand is designed to coat each lash individually, and it really helps to achieve that full and fluttery lash look. I am thoroughly impressed with this mascara.

For eyeshadow, I try the Flower Beauty Shimmer & Shade Eyeshadow Palette. The palette consists of a mix of neutral and shimmery shades, perfect for creating both daytime and nighttime looks. The eyeshadows are highly pigmented and blend like a dream. I am able to create a variety of eye looks with this palette, and it quickly becomes a favorite in my collection.

Lip Products

Last but not least, let’s talk about the lip products. I try out the Flower Beauty Petal Pout Lip Color, and I am blown away by the formula. The lipstick is creamy and comfortable to wear, yet it has amazing staying power. The color payoff is fantastic, and my lips feel hydrated throughout the day.

I also try the Flower Beauty Miracle Matte Metallic Liquid Lip Color, and it is just as impressive. The liquid lipstick goes on smoothly and dries down to a comfortable matte finish. It doesn’t feel drying on the lips and lasts for hours without fading or transferring.

So far, my experience with Flower Beauty has been nothing short of impressive. From the effortless application process to the stunning results, this line has truly captivated me. I hope you, too, are intrigued by the potential of these products. Stay tuned for more updates and beauty adventures, and don’t forget to follow me on social media for all the behind-the-scenes action. Whether it be Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, or Pinterest, I’ve got you covered. Let’s continue this exciting journey together.

So the eye look is done, no eyeliner, no mascara on the bottom lash, just smoking with the shadow is plenty good enough. But the conundrum of the concealer still remains. It seems like I might have to mix and match to find the right shade. I’ll do a follow-up to show you how the makeup wears and hopefully, it turns out well.

Remember, the most important thing when trying any beauty product is to find the right shades and consistency for your skin. It may take some trial and error, but with the right products, you can achieve a flawless look without breaking the bank. Don’t be afraid to experiment and mix different products to find your perfect combination. Happy experimenting!

After trying out the Flower Beauty products, I can confidently say that they are worth the hype. The quality of these drugstore products is on par with high-end brands, but at a fraction of the price. I am impressed by the performance of each product and how they live up to their claims.

I would highly recommend giving Flower Beauty a try if you’re in the market for affordable yet high-quality makeup.
