The New Natasha Denona Hy-Gen Glow

So these are the new highlighter kind of hybrids from Natasha Denona. Now I’ve seen it on Instagram. I don’t know how it’s going to work on me, but we’ll give it a go.

The Perfect Base

First things first, let’s perfect the skin. I’m going to use a couple of shades of concealer and kind of dot it a little bit haphazardly around my face, nothing too dramatic. I’ll blend it in with my trusty F4 Brush to unify the complexion before creating that glass skin look.

Glass Skin vs. Oily Skin

I mean, I don’t care about glass skin. I’ve got very oily skin, so it’s the last thing on Earth that I want to create on a daily basis. I naturally create it about 2 minutes after I’ve washed my face. Nice.

Skin Care Debates

Someone mentioned to me the other day, but I saw it today. They were talking about my skin care and they were saying, “What happens to the skin under your beard?” You know, I just rub it in, what else can you do? Then they were like, “Why don’t you put it on here, come on, come on.”

Exploring the Shades

Let’s have a look at the shades. This is light, pretty. Then we’ve got medium, which I think is probably the one I’m going to use.

Why? Why would Natasha Denona create something that goes against my natural skin type? The struggle is real.

The Application Process

There are a couple of ways to go about applying the Natasha Denona Hy-Gen Glow. One option is to use it solely as a highlighter, while the other is to go for the Instagram-worthy full-face buff. I decided to try both methods to see how they compare.

Using the Powder Alone

Starting on one side of my face, I picked up some of the powder with a brush and began to swirl it on. To be honest, I was perplexed by the lack of shine that I had initially expected. The intensity I saw in the swatch didn’t quite translate with a brush application. It’s not what I was personally looking for, but for those who enjoy an otherworldly finish, this could be the perfect fit.

Mixing with Primer Serum

On the other side of my face, I decided to mix a few drops of the Natasha Denona primer serum directly into the powder. As I applied the mixture, I couldn’t help but wonder if this was the secret to unlocking the full potential of the product.

The Initial Application

Just here on the side and then Ill take that same brush and Im going to really buff it in Im. Just doing it on the side, because I dont know how its going to react now, Im going to buff this all over and its creating a lot. A lot of glass Im one of these people.

Shine Overload

That likes, I mean you know right what Im going to say, matte here and a little bit of shine around the outside corner its just too much for me its a lot of shine, lovely God, thats a lot of shine. What do you think it it? For me its, it would be impossible for me to want to go outside like this, because there is, while it is shiny.

Metallic Feel

There is this metallic kind of feel to it, and I dont know if you can see that and Im going to point to it. So these are veins that are traveling through my skin and they are really prominent here in the mirror. I dont know, if theyre showing on camera, because weve added that shine its picking up attention to areas of the face that I just dont want visible.

Texture and Placement

So for me, its just not going to work out like that. So let me just Swatch these. On the back of my hand, now theyve got a really creamy texture to them and it feels emoon. So that is light, and you can see also that right at the minute, thats in Shadow, so the whole purpose of a highlighter is to be in light.

Deep Vs. Light

So that is Shadow now, as I turn it there’s the light, but as I move it out of the light, it gets dark, that’s the problem with highlighters, and while you tend to have to be very careful with how you pick them because dark light, so it can look muddy on the skin the next one I’ll swatch is the medium, which is the one I’ve just used all over my face. I’ll swatch that next to it so there you go and there we go. You see dark and light I’ll do it on the second hand, so we’ll go for the dark first, which is this shade here, there’s the light, you see how dark it is or strong. It is when it’s not in light and then finally we’ll do the Deep, that’s a really deep color and there’s the light just trying to rotate it there. We go. Oh my eyes, I’m so sorry, you think after all these years, I’d be at least moderately decent at doing this job, but no now I’m. Which is why no one watches me anyway, it’s not for me, it’s just not for me, it’s too much all over, but probably as a highlighter, see just on the high point, it would be really pretty or even better. It would probably be really pretty, yep as a lid highlighter. It would be really pretty something like that, but all over it’s not for me beautiful product feels beautiful, looks horrific.
